here we go, here we go
Who: Whistler and Maketh
What: Scheming over electronics and bombs.
Where: Apartments, then guard post
When: May 15
Warnings: tbd
It hadn't taken Maketh too long to whip a design for a cane and put the final product together. Perhaps it wasn't as polished as a professional product would have been, but it was something, a cane with collapsing parts for storage and a loop around the grip. Designing an echo-box would be more difficult and probably involve asking Hux for help. Maketh was working up to that.
In the meantime, she has ideas and it's entirely possible that Whistler will be able to see them through.
She knocks on his door once, twice.
"It's Maketh. I have something for you."

In fact this is how he finds his way to the door fairly quickly after hearing the two sharp knocks followed by a familiar voice.
"Just a minute," he calls, fumbling with the latch a moment before opening the door with a lopsided grin.
"Hello, ma'am."

Disconcerting. But nice its own way.
"Oh. You've brought me something?" He shifts a bit in excited curiosity, hands briefly tugging at the hem of his shirt before he frees one, holding it out in her direction.

He then lets the cane go still, and with a shy, timid gesture, he reaches forward, hand awkwardly fumbling in the air a bit before he manages to very lightly pat her shoulder in gratitude.
"Thank you very much. It's perfect."
no subject
Either way, she smiles just a little.
"Good. I wouldn't want you to get lost here."
no subject
He adds a firm tap of the cane against the ground for emphasis.
"Now, if I remember correctly, you were going to show me some things I might be able to play with." There had been talk of detonators and security systems, to be more specific. "Is that still going to happen?"

"Now is a very good time."
Perfect, in fact, because the early stages of cabin fever were starting to set in.

"Alright," he steps forward, pulling the door shut behind himself before giving a few more taps of the cane against the ground. "Lead the way, Maketh."
Yeah. She's definitely not going to stay 'Maketh'. Whistler can tell.

But in the meantime, she has work to do.
"Inside, here. I've laid out most of the components we're not currently using." She's put them all out in a line on one of the tables. There's not a great deal, but it's something.

When they arrive, he steps to her right hand side, hesitating only a moment before he find's the table's edge.He then makes a vague waving gesture just above the objects she's laid out.
"Can I?"
As he asks an excited grin is brewing at the corners of his mouth. He's impatient.
no subject
Not as they are, at least. Maketh tips her head to the side, watching curiously.
"At your eleven o'clock are several components from a piece of tactical armor, from my world. They were taken from the helmet and connected to the radio receiver. It took some damage, but I've repaired the worst of it."
no subject
"Can you tell me more about them? How were they used in your world? I need to know as much as you can tell me."
He gathers a couple small pieces in his hand, fiddling very carefully with them in his palm. Its a good start that the pieces were originally from a device designed to process signals.

"If I can make this thing work again, and get it to work remotely, what were you planning to attach it to? Cause its one thing if this is gonna be wired to a stick of dynamite, but I imagine that's not what you had in mind."
no subject
Maketh tips her head to the side.
"Can you make something like that?"
no subject
"Now this is just a guess but between what you've got here and what i've got in my own stash I can probably build a couple, but if you want more than that we're going to need to find more supplies."
no subject
"I will look for more supplies, but I'm not certain we'll be able to find them easily," Maketh admits. "We may have to bargain with the gods."

Though it can, on occasion, be painful.
Maketh rubs her face.
"You contact one of them through your phone and state what you want. They'll offer you a bargain. If you accept and fulfill your half, they'll give you what you want. But a lot of it depends on what you're willing to do for them."
no subject
He swirls his finger in a clumsy cycle in the air
"That's a bit of a circular conundrum."
