Event Log: A Blustery Day

Good morning and welcome to your Hadriel Weather Forecast! On the doppler today is a high chance of rainfall, coupled with dark, angry clouds, and even some hail an rumbling of wayward thunder! If you're wondering "we're in a cave, how can we have weather in a cave", then congratulations, you're doing exactly what Confusion wants you to do! Which is- you know, be confused.

For the next few days, the weather will be aggressively stormy, with severity ranging from 'mild annoyance' to full-on 'batten down the hatches and hold on'. While no tornadoes will touch down, you might want to prepare yourselves for a few dashes of lightning, winds that could knock you over, and golfball-sized hail ready to cause a couple of bruises and broken windows!

Speaking of which, are any of these houses weatherproofed? You... uh, might want to look into that, if you've got the time. Surely a few friends could help you out- just make sure you stay warm and dry! The shops aren't stocked with any new coats or anything, so you'll have to make do with what you've got. Maybe some of you still have your ugly christmas sweaters!

It's not my first rodeo. [She shrugs. She's got good boots on and she's been on roofs before. Not in the rain, of course.]

You got everything you need?

[leashed]

I could use-

[He glances back toward his supplies, taking a quick stock of everything.]

-more tape. Or anything that will help to hold the tarps on, really.

[knifecollecting]

[Jo considers what she's got in her messenger bag and sighs.]

I don't have any tape. [Or anything else that might help with that.]

What about using some rubble?

[leashed]

To weigh it down?

[He considers that.]

Perhaps, but that would only work on the top. The corners of the building would still be prone to leaking.

[knifecollecting]

We can save the tape for the corners. Right? [It makes sense to her.]

[leashed]

Good idea.

[He disappears again, over the roof, before calling out-]

I'll be down in a moment!

[knifecollecting]

'Kay.

[Jo stays where she is, pulling out a flashlight and examining the area. There seems to be enough small pieces of rubble for them to take advantage of.]

[leashed]

[It takes him a few moments to finish what he's doing, but eventually, Rome drops down to the ground next to Jo with a quick exhale.]

Alright. I've gotten most of it- the rest needs the weight of the rocks.

[knifecollecting]

[Jo nods, looking up at the roof before turning to Rome.]

How are we going to get the rocks up there? It'll be hard to climb up there with one.

[leashed]

[That... is an interesting problem, and one that he hadn't quite thought about.]

I could go back up with a bag and a rope and lower it down for you to load up.

[knifecollecting]

[Jo is nothing if not practical, most of the time.]

That would work. How much can you lift?

[leashed]

From there?

[He looks, pursing his lips. And then, as if it's nothing-]

Maybe around two hundred pounds. But I'd be concerned about the roof collapsing.

[Rome definitely does not have the frame for that. Werewolfism is a hell of a drug.]

[knifecollecting]

[She stares at him through the storm, trying to gauge if he really means that number.

The roof is what she decides to worry about too.]

I'll try to find medium sized pieces.

[leashed]

Alright.

[He nods and moves away to get into position on the roof.

Their project takes them awhile- but working together makes it take far less than it would have if either of them were working alone. By the end of it, there's something manageable here, with far fewer leaks than there had been earlier.

Something to be proud of, at least.]

[knifecollecting]

[By the time they get most of the tarp down, Jo knows she's going to be sore tomorrow. She's just glad they could get it taken care of.]
