Good morning and welcome to your Hadriel Weather Forecast! On the doppler today is a high chance of rainfall, coupled with dark, angry clouds, and even some hail an rumbling of wayward thunder! If you're wondering "we're in a cave, how can we have weather in a cave", then congratulations, you're doing exactly what Confusion wants you to do! Which is- you know, be confused.
For the next few days, the weather will be aggressively stormy, with severity ranging from 'mild annoyance' to full-on 'batten down the hatches and hold on'. While no tornadoes will touch down, you might want to prepare yourselves for a few dashes of lightning, winds that could knock you over, and golfball-sized hail ready to cause a couple of bruises and broken windows!
Speaking of which, are any of these houses weatherproofed? You... uh, might want to look into that, if you've got the time. Surely a few friends could help you out- just make sure you stay warm and dry! The shops aren't stocked with any new coats or anything, so you'll have to make do with what you've got. Maybe some of you still have your ugly christmas sweaters!► This log covers June 15th-June 17th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you the blustery day blusters you in the face (does that even make sense?), please let us know here.

One of those things you can't control, but will probably happen in the future regardless.
[Which is, of course, the first part. As for the second, he's not too surprised, although he does want to ask her something else before giving her any advice.]
You still want to be friends with her, even after what happened between you?
[He wants to make sure on that, and that she isn't just ignoring that particular issue.]

[He thinks that's the most important thing to point out, amongst all of that; he feels like he's missing some context here that might help the situation, but justifying something bad with the fact that other bad things happen is not exactly the healthiest response.]
It's your choice if your friendship with her, and the mitigating factors of the gods' influence, means you're willing to forgive her. There's nothing wrong with that. But you should be sure of the reasons why you're forgiving her, and 'because it could be worse' or 'it's not the choice someone else would make' shouldn't be the only ones.
[The decision should be based on her, and on Caroline, not other events that may have happened or whatever role Damen might play, which--in Lance's opinion--should be none if he's not here.]

But, those reasons could help me get to where I forgive her, because they're reasons, they're not excuses. [ She was once a girl of excuses, and she won't be one anymore. ] I don't have to justify why I'd forgive her because it's not about forgiving her. She's Caroline. She's one of my best friends. I need to know when I can handle being around her, with everything that's happened between us. [ She pauses. ] Do you think I haven't forgiven her?

Have you? If so, what's making you so unsure about being able to handle being around her?
[He thinks she's believes she's forgiven Caroline, but considering the reasons she gave for doing so he doesn't believe that subconsciously she's as onboard with the idea of forgiving Caroline just yet. Maybe he's wrong, but if she's truly fine with what Caroline did then he doubts it would be such a problem for her to even consider talking to her.]

Is facing those things worth it to remain to friends with her, and to have her around you while you're here?

[He wishes her could tell her something more helpful than that, but when it comes down to it it's all up to her in that regard. However, he does have a suggestion.]
But if you're worried about that, there's nothing wrong with talking to her through the phones first. You'll have a buffer that way, and you can end the conversation if it becomes too much for you.

Thank you, for the suggestion.

If talking to her again is truly something you want to do, you'll figure out how to do it.
[He has faith in her. Ultimately it comes down to whether she's truly willing to forgive Caroline for her own reasons, and if so--and if Caroline cares about her in return--then it'll work out.]
