Good morning and welcome to your Hadriel Weather Forecast! On the doppler today is a high chance of rainfall, coupled with dark, angry clouds, and even some hail an rumbling of wayward thunder! If you're wondering "we're in a cave, how can we have weather in a cave", then congratulations, you're doing exactly what Confusion wants you to do! Which is- you know, be confused.
For the next few days, the weather will be aggressively stormy, with severity ranging from 'mild annoyance' to full-on 'batten down the hatches and hold on'. While no tornadoes will touch down, you might want to prepare yourselves for a few dashes of lightning, winds that could knock you over, and golfball-sized hail ready to cause a couple of bruises and broken windows!
Speaking of which, are any of these houses weatherproofed? You... uh, might want to look into that, if you've got the time. Surely a few friends could help you out- just make sure you stay warm and dry! The shops aren't stocked with any new coats or anything, so you'll have to make do with what you've got. Maybe some of you still have your ugly christmas sweaters!► This log covers June 15th-June 17th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you the blustery day blusters you in the face (does that even make sense?), please let us know here.

they can just get him some lifts for his shoes
Are you sure?
[He decides to ask after a moment, giving Rome another chance to maybe think about it a bit more the second time, and in the meantime answers the question.]
Dr. Lance Sweets. I'm a psychologist, not a medical doctor.
[Because that's almost always the followup question.]
or stilts!
Rome is fine. If it suits you.
[That seems to be as far as he'll really go into asserting himself, but he nods at the introduction anyway, reaching out to shake his hand, re-centering himself after that brief little crisis.]
It's nice to meet you. You often work here in the clinic?
omg I'm imagining him on stilts and it's so cute
Rome, then.
[He accepts and returns the handshake.]
I'm usually not here unless I have an appointment to meet with someone, but sometimes.
[There's not nearly enough for him to do in the Clinic if he doesn't have an appointment, and he's able to handle minor injuries but nothing more so he just doesn't consider himself super useful to be around much of the time. Still, he'll watch the place when others are busy, which is why he's here now.]
Have you been in Hadriel long?
c:
Several months. I haven't visited the clinic often- not outside of my patrol, anyway.
[It's an interesting place though, and he can tell that it's usually rather lively- there's at least a dozen different scents in here.]
I haven't had any injuries worth reporting.
no subject
That's good to hear. We prefer if people don't get seriously injured.
[So no complaints on him not visiting more often.]
What do you do as a part of the Guard? You mentioned patrolling?
[He knows that's a thing, of course, but not much about what it actually entails.]
no subject
[Which isn't too often, unfortunately- Rome doesn't mind the work. It keeps him centered and moving. Without it, he's not quite sure what he'd do.
Well. He'd tarp up the roof of the clinic, apparently.]
no subject
Do you know many of the other Guard members well?
no subject
[He says, frowning a little. He doesn't get out much and definitely doesn't have the social skills for mingling on the job.]
The others have all proven themselves, though. I'm honored to work alongside them.
no subject
I've met a few others; Glacius, Curufin, Nick, and Gilbert. Henry, also.
[It seems a little odd he knows more Guard members than Rome does.]
no subject
[He's met Henry and Glacius at least, and he has a duty to protect Nick, should the city come under fire.]
Do you work well with the Guard? It's important to create an alliance between the emergency service members in this place.
no subject
There have been staff changes at the Clinic, so we're still working out details on coordinating with the Guard.
[And that's totally going fine. F i n e.]
no subject
[He offers, genuinely.]
We are at your disposal.
no subject
[He means it, and he does appreciate the offer. He also realizes he probably shouldn't be distracting Rome if he's still on duty.]
I should let you get back to what you're doing, although you're welcome to stay here as long as you like.
[In case he doesn't have anything immediately pressing, or just wants to be dry for a bit.]
no subject
[He nods once, respectfully.]
Thank you for the towels. I'm going to go finish waterproofing the important structures around town.
[And he folds the towels carefully, though they're still a bit damp, before setting them back on the table and turning to leave.]
