On Wings Of Silver, As The Enchanted Star
Who: Tatara Totsuka and OPEN +1 closed
What: Stepford Event
Where: Grocery Store; The Park; The Cafe
When: July 16th - July 25th
Warnings: None, I think? Tatara is pretty tame. TBA, just in case, though.
[ Grocery Store - They keep their secrets in a parade of clouds, playing hide and seek. ]
Tatara actually enjoys his work as a grocer. He gets to talk to alot of people and see so many perspectives this way. Whether it's as he's checking out your products or helping out around the store, he's more than happy to talk to you when he finds a moment, and he's all smiles while he does so. He never seems to be in any particular hurry, though. He tends each customer one at a time, and once he's satisfied at the extent of conversation, he'll only move onto the next person then.
Which might be frustrating for some. Maybe you're in a hurry and got stuck to behind the last person he was speaking to for much longer than you anticipated. Or perhaps you're even happy to see him and welcome the conversation. Either way, it looks like you're the next person he's talking to.
"And how are you doing today?" Starting out with the easier smalltalk. But he doesn't do it out of formalities, he wants to genuinely hear how you are doing, observing your reactions, so he can gauge himself to meet your needs. He's there to be friendly and understanding for you, regardless of if he knows you or not.
[ The Park - Narwhales lost at sea, and never seen again. ]
Tatara has always been interested in picking up new hobbies, and has recently picked up magic tricks. For someone new at the skill, he seems particularly apt at it, impressing children and adults alike. Although, he's particularly partial to charming the children. He's always wanted a child. But the adoption process thus far has not been in his and Gilbert's favour. So, he simply chooses to adapt and impress as many of them as he can depending on the flavoured hobby of the week.
From making the ball disappear from the cups, to an array of cardtricks. He even seems to have mastered the endless-scarves-up-the-sleeve trick. Although, a trick involving glitter seems to explode in his face at some point, at which he sputters and laughs. "Oops. I suppose I'll have to keep practicing that one."
He tries to dust some of the glitter off, but as anyone who has experience with glitter will know, that'll only serve to spread the craft herpes further. Still, he's back to performing his next line of tricks.
A flick of the plastic wand and it morphs into a bouquet of assorted daises in yellow, purple, and white, which he holds out to you.
"I'll need an assistant for my next trick, if you would." He flashes you a smile.
[ The Cafe (Closed to Rosen) - Go and ask the magpie: where do unicorns go? ]
Tatara checks his watch as he heads down to the Cafe. He's running a few minutes behind, and he hadn't intended to be. He pushes himself to a trot as he tries to get to the agreed meeting location. When he pushes himself through the door, he pauses to look around at the current patrons.
It's been... gosh, just how long has it been? Since his father died, he hasn't seen his grandfather. Tatara must have been about eleven at the time. He wonders if he'll recognise him after all these years. Or if Rosen will even recognise him, being older now. Thirteen years older.
And yet, he doesn't find it too difficult to pick out the familiar, unmistkable owlish appearance of the man. He tries to take a few deep breaths as he heads up to Rosen. Out of breath from the jog, and with a smile, he greets Rosen.
"Grandpa Rosen, right? I'm sorry for being late."
He drops himself into the seat acrost from Rosen, his fatigue probably showing. He's never been particularly well-versed in physical endurance.

He doesn't even realize he's holding his breath until the young man drops into the chair opposite. Lee's eyes blink dumbly at him for a moment or two before he manages to speak.
"Tatara? Is...that...I can't believe it."
no subject
"Yes, it's me." Good he'd gotten the right person after all. As if there were much room for doubt. "It's been quite a few years, hasn't it. How have you been?"
Tatara sounds like he's genuinely invested to some degree, instead of passing it off as the usual formalities. He's always interested to hear other people's stories. But this is also his grandfather, who has been out of communication for more than a decade. He's certainly interested in what has been in Rosen's life between then and now.

After a moment he decides to come clean and be direct. "I'm sorry, I have never been the best at these sorts of things, and given the circumstances, I'm not exactly sure where we stand."
no subject
Which is by no means by fault of Rosen. Tatara's just always been this way. He doesn't know how to properly attach to emotion, only intrigue.
"It's alright, why don't we call it the opportunity to start over?" He feels a slight tug at the back of his mind, of when he was a much younger boy, hugging and consoling a father who always gambled.
But that wasn't his father? Where did that thought come from? Still he gives another smile.
"It's fine, it's fine. It will all turn out alright somehow."
