Who: Everyone participating in the wendigo event!
What: The accidental-cannibalism-turned-horrifying-monster event that is the Who What Where Wendigo event!

On February 14th, Rage and Fear decide to give Hope a little bit of help taking care of the residents of Hadriel - they'll provide some food for awhile. How nice! Except, of course, that there's an extra ingredient in this food. A can of beef stew? Yeah... that might not be beef. But hey, it still tastes pretty good! Unfortunately, some spirits slipped through the Door last time it opened, and they're ready to possess anyone who participates in cannibalism - even if they don't know it.

Anyone who eats the provided meat will be possessed by a wendigo spirit. Over the course of twelve days, they will transform into a monster that feels little but rage and hunger. While at first it can be explained away easily enough (people are super annoying, and isn't everyone a little hungry most of the time?), by February 18th, wendigo transformations are impossible to ignore. A few days after, on February 22nd, the anger and cravings of the wendigo spirit will overcome all other emotions, and possessed characters may begin hunting.

The physical and mental transformation will be complete by February 26th. The possessed characters will have lost themselves completely at that point. While physical healing (done by a character with Hope's blessing or another healing ability) can turn back the physical and some mental effects, they will remain possessed until death or until Hope removes the wendigo spirit - which can only be done on the altar of Hope's temple. So have fun dragging your angry, possessed friends there!

On March 1st, Rage does Hope a solid (because she feels sort of bad) and kills all remaining wendigos. Upon revival, the spirit will be gone and the character will be fully recovered. Hopefully no one holds what they did while possessed against them!

[Bruce glances up at him, and gives him a weak smile as he approaches. He's looked a little diminished ever since he tore the city apart, has been making himself carefully scarce, but is pleased and present enough to be able to promise;]

Stick with me. Are you looking for food?

[Noah understands the being scarce after you've done something regretful, so while a good portion of it is fear of being alone, there's no small part that prompts him to quickly rush to Bruce's side and stick close to him out of desire to show Bruce that whatever happened, Noah doesn't blame him or hold it against him. As far as Noah's concerned, he's still trustworthy and reliable, he just... had a bad day.

Noah would be a hypocrite to hold that against Bruce, he's had bad days of his own, leaving scratches on Ronan's arm, almost knocking Monmouth down around its foundation in his own ghostly panic.]

Yeah. We had to get rid of anything that could have had meat in it, so...

[Noah looks both pale and a bit green at that. He's kind of glad he was dead until it came out what the problem had been.]

I'm lucky I'm a vegetarian.

[He admits, quietly.]

Maybe I'll do something for people who want to learn to cook that way. I suspect we'll have a few converts by the time this one is over.

[Grim humour, maybe, but that's where they are.]

[Sometimes gallows humor is the only humor you have.]

... Is ice cream vegetarian? And alcohol?

[Noah is considering converting, himself, but. He's gotta make sure his priorities are clear first.]

Yes, and almost entirely. That depends on whether it's bacon flavoured, or whether you care about gelatin. Or I think some things use animal ash in them- I'm honestly not sure, since I'm not a drinker.

Oh, I tried bacon vodka on a dare once, it was super gross. Do not recommend.

[There's no fucking way Noah is old enough to drink in any country.]

[Noah is now getting the 'concerned schoolteacher' look over the top of his glasses from a man who fairly recently knocked down a city, ie makes terrible life choices.]

... Everyone at that party was drinking!

What were you doing at that kind of party?

...Partying?

I forget how hip you kids are these days.

Well, that was back before I died the first time... does it count as 'these days' if it was almost a decade ago?

How old are you? Physically, and chronologically.

[Noah gives a long pause and a furrowed brow at that question.]

Well... When I was alive I could drive, like, legally. Aglionby only goes to 12th grade though. So...

[he shrugs and sighs, rubbing at his cheek.]

Anywhere between sixteen and eighteen, probably? And I've been dead for... eight years now. About.

So you are definitely, definitely young enough for me to cluck at.

[Is what Bruce is reassured of.]

Good news for me, bad news for you.

[Noah did not die in the early 60's, no. If you count time dead (which he wasn't even conscious for most of) and assume all times were at maximum length, he should be 26 at the oldest. Instead he's just a teenager, and will always be one.]

Don't I get a pass for being dead for the alcohol? I should at least be over 21 now if I hadn't died. That makes it okay right?

[Though, let's be real.

Noah's drinking either way. It's just a matter of whether or not he comes to Bruce about his wicked terrible hangovers.]

I think that depends. I'm almost fifty, and I don't drink.

[He points out; and this may be one reason Noah ends up deciding no, there, though Ronan already periodically does.]

You get three guesses as to why and the first two don't count.

[He can kind of guess why a loss of control would be bad for Bruce, yeah. Still...]

Man, you can't drink alcohol? That's awful.

It's not. You genuinely don't spend a lot of time noticing, past a certain point.

I promise you I noticed all seven years I was dead that I couldn't have it.

[That's a lie he wasn't sentient and aware for a lot of those years. That said, all the ones where he was? Yes he remembered.]

Maybe that's because being dead, you really, really needed a drink?

[Is Bruce's mild joke. However;]

I guess that wouldn't explain me.

Well, I mean.

All I do when I get drunk is get really cuddly and feel like I need to make sure everyone knows they're my best friends.

[Noah gives Bruce a wry look, because of course, Noah would be an overly-affectionate drunk. Of course.]

And get terrible hangovers, but those are kind of my problem. Well, and whoever holds my hair back for me when I get all pukey. [Noah siiighs.] But that's just like an annoyance kind of problem, you know? Not a ... a pain kind of problem.

It makes sense that it's different if you have to worry about hurting someone other than yourself.

Even before this was a problem, I was careful about it.

[He admits, with a little shrug.]

Being the Hulk is a bit like being drunk- if you believe that 'you become more like yourself' kind of stuff.

Oh. [It makes Noah think about Adam, how he's never drank and is determined not to do so ever for very similar reasons. The anger, seeing how his father acted while drunk. It's not really Noah's place to share someone else's situation, though, so he just nods a little.]

... I'm glad you're back to normal.

Thank you.

[He agrees, pausing to stretch, and sigh.]

I should keep working.
