The city is changed when you wake up this morning. Not in the usual "everything is now a beach episode" kind of way, but when you look out the window, you may find something new blocking your otherwise-stellar skyline view of the cave wall. New houses dot the landscape in uneven paths from one another, as well as an array of odd, misshapen furniture just about everywhere imaginable- even clipping through a few walls, in some cases. Weird!
There's no real explanation for where these houses came from and they're not disappearing anytime soon. Maybe it's time you upgraded your digs into a fancier, more geometrically sound location? The new homes might be a little more familiar to you than the current ones in Hadriel, and some of them even have a little garden plot! What more could you ask for?► This log covers August 16th-20th.

Maglor, open
Or, you could just say, they were a bloody inquisitive people.
Maglor is not immune to this particular habit.
He can be found exploring the new houses, muttering to himself about the likelihood of them falling down, or poking curiously at the weird furniture in them. He doesn't intend to move away from his family, but he's curious, all the same. A little too curious, maybe, for eventually he'll poke a bit too much, and bring a table down on him.
He yelps, more in surprise than in pain, but he's also not in any good position to lever himself out. Care to help an elf out? ]
yooo
[Drawn by the sound of a person in distress, Ignis arrives on the scene to find a familiar-looking elf in need of his help once again. With a good grip on the edge of the table, he levers it up just enough for Maglor to slide out from under it.]
Unless you often find yourself in positions of personal distress?
\o/
Thank you. And no, I confess this is rather unusual. [ He's lying, but then again, he's normally quite good at getting himself out of trouble again ]
no subject
[He offers Maglor a hand up to his feet, once making sure he is out from under the table and setting it back down carefully. Weeks have passed since their first meeting, yet it was notable enough to make an impression.]
You look well. Recovered fully from the wasp stings?
no subject
Aye, I seem to be. Yourself?
no subject
[It's strange to see the elf - he did say he was an elf, didn't he - in this far calmer situation. Last time, they were both running for their lives. Ignis gives the offending table a glance.]
Shall we remove ourselves from the immediate vicinity? I'd prefer to reduce our chances of encountering rogue furniture as much as possible.
no subject
[ Maglor smiles wryly ]
Probably wise, I think. I could not quite resist the look, the houses are so strange!
no subject
[Between them, no doubt, they will make it out without further injury. In the metaphorical light of day, he gives the elf a quick visual examination, though he has no reason to doubt his word.
He takes a moment, then, to look up at the house.]
But I do not believe this phenomenon to be normal, even by the standards of Hadriel.

Being as new as we both are, I hardly think either of us are any judge, sadly! Either way, I am content enough with what I have seen. They are no threat to us, that I can determine, and may indeed be useful for those seeking homes of their own.
no subject
[Ignis lifts both eyebrows pointedly, his meaning clear. If something like that can happen to Maglor, then doubtless something worse might happen to someone else. Not all tables are made of wood, and not all people are as hardy as an elf.]
I can see the use, though it isn't without its dangers.
no subject
[ Maglor laughs softly ]
That is my fault, not the table's! Mm, either way, I am sure some will be glad for the extra housing.
no subject
Take my hand, Kano, and I will pull you free. {He offers his left hand to Maglor, his mechanical right hand settles on the table, ready to lift.}
I think you are unharmed, but let us get you to Elrond to be sure.
no subject
I was curious!
[ But he takes Maedhros' hand and wriggles free as soon as he can ]
Only my pride is injured, Nelyo! But if it will make you happier we can go and look for him.
no subject
Shall we bring this table home with us? Since you like it so much! Then we can explore more, since you are so curious. {And because he likes seeing curiosity in his brother again.}
no subject
I don't know if it would fit Nelyo! The house is so very crowded already.
no subject
But you like it. We could always expand!
no subject
[ Maglor clearly likes these hugs ]
But I don't really think it fits with anything - it's such a large table. Best to leave it here.
no subject
We are collecting residents in our home, little brother. We could probably use a large table!
no subject
[ He objects with a laugh ]
Outside, maybe.
no subject
Outside, then. Shall we bring it along?
no subject
[ Which is not a no ]
no subject
I believe he will forgive us!
