Warnings: Nothing at the moment! No monsters, and everyone is together again!
What: The intro log for April as well as the city reunification log!

New arrivals are in for a treat this month with... actually, no impending monster attacks, for once! You guys are luckier than most who came before you, as the remaining monsters that had previously been terrorizing the city have been banished back into the caves and nothing new is coming out of the Door to take their place.
Still, the past few weeks haven't been easy on poor Hadriel, and the right half of the city is littered with monster corpses and rubble, extinguished flares and damaged barricades left by the citizens trapped there with all of the monsters in the caves. The left half has fared a little better, though the explosives have done a bit of a number on the outer areas of the city, but anyone looking for housing might want to start over there first.
To get there though, you'd have to get past the random assortment of candy dispensers, haphazardly scattered around the colosseum floor. At least... let's hope that they're candy.
Once you emerge into the city proper, you might find a few folks trying to get their bearings now that the city is reunited. Everyone is just trying to get back home and find their friends after a hellish few days, so what better time to meet someone new and try to clean up some of the city streets?
Now that you're out and wandering around monster-free, there's plenty of other distractions. Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers April 10th-15th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
Andros | OTA |Collosseum + exploring
And then, Andros was not in space. At all. He was in some weird planet, except instead of a sky, there was a ceiling. No, not a ceiling. A cave? He was underground. And no glider. Fabulous. Thanks for stealing his gear. He looked back, but whatever had brought him here was already closed. Great. He'd have to find another way. Andros paused and looked around. This place (and it's lucky inhabitants) looked like it'd been through more than a little fighting. But what was with all the candy? Whatever, he knew enough not to touch it. It probably turned you into a giant gerbil or melted your insides or something.
The ranger stood still for a minute (the bright red spandex camouflaged him oh so well), listening for tell tale cackling, mocking or the old favorite 'KILL HIM!'. Maybe that was what the candy was for?]

You would...already be a target if there were any, I suspect. Your coloring is...not subtle.

[Andros however, was still not entirely convinced that they weren't sneaking around, biding their time. That's what they'd do. Wait until he demorphed, and was distracted, weaponless, then attack. He decided to test the theory and then pulled off his helmet. ]

[Ah, this one has some experience. Fingon nods.] There's no one here, young one....save your strength in case that changes.
no subject
I knew what I was getting into when I signed up. I was lucky to be chosen.
[He didn't exactly seem convinced. But he powered down anyway, crossing his arms over his chest, the red fading away in a flash and replaced with his space ranger uniform. If this was a trap, he might as well find out now. And if this person was a potential friend or an enemy. ]
no subject
Then you are fortunate...few can say as much.
[Not a trap, just heightened elven senses and some experience with battlefields. And not an enemy, though it wouldn't matter if he were. Fingon shifts from the wall just long enough to let Andros see his beaten, scorched armor. The injuries beneath it are worse.] You've no threat from me, soldier. I have...more immediate concerns.

I don't suppose this place has any medical supplies or doctors?

Hello? Can I help you?

[Andros had found Hope's supplies and the explanation in it--not that he cared for it but any explanation was better than muddling around waiting for the cackling to start. The weapons were interesting, but from what he'd seen, there were people here from all over. Who knew what planet or dimension or time period he was from.]

It's a long story. The short version is, the city was split in half by the gods who run it. They moved one half -- the one you're standing in at the moment -- to it's current location. But the other half was left behind on another planet. The god who does the moving, Fear, didn't have enough energy to complete the project until today. He knocked down the protecting wall that was here when he put the two halves back together. We all had friends or family or colleagues on the other side, and we feared we would never see them again.
But that much has worked out, anyway. We're reunited.
I can tell you more, whatever you want to know. What kind of world are you from, though?
no subject
Okay....I'm from KO-35, it's a space colony. I normally operate between worlds, on a space ship. I was heading there when I was....taken. These gods, beings, so....how do they get their energy from?
[Andros was putting two and two together here]
Did Fear use the situation to his advantage to get more energy? Like....human batteries?
[...okay this dude was so going down.]
Aw, he can have a hug. XD
A space colony. Strange, the things that are possible. My people were very much aware of the Void, but in my universe, the only thing out there is lost spirits and a renegade god who was tossed over the Wall of Night by his very irate pantheon brothers and sisters.
But your universe is obviously very different. You say you lived in two worlds? How nice, to be able to. . . commute to work? [ He grins a little. He's picked up bits and pieces of modern human culture, though the concepts are still sometimes foreign to him. ]
The gods of Hadriel get their energy from us. They feed on our emotions. Yes, we're like batteries to them. Normally, they set up situations for us that are guaranteed to generate these emotions in us, and then I guess they bask in the energy. Fear and the other gods who were stuck on the west side of Hadriel asked the people who were trapped there with them to try to generate as much of that emotion as they could, to give Fear enough energy to complete his task. And I guess he got all the help he needed. But I don't think he had a chance to skim off any of that energy for his own enjoyment or even nourishment. Yesterday, he posted a message on the net to say he had succeeded. But he was a mess. He could hardly hold the human form; his face was literally coming apart. Clearly, he had had to drain his own energy right down to the bone. Or. . .whatever is the equivalent of bone, for his race.
<3
Good, maybe he'll waste away, and that's one less 'god' I have to deal with.
[Andros was still learning earth human culture, and as such, the commuting joke went right over his head.]

Wh-- Are we just getting fully-costumed actual superheroes here now?!
no subject
It certainly looks like you guys could use some help around here.
[Andros looked around at him from behind his helmet, pretty sure that was some kind of derogatory comment toward him, but he wasn't quite sure.]
no subject
You also showed up in time for the latest batch of nightmares to come to an end, so you'll have to wait til next time to swoop in and save the day.
[He vacantly tossed aside the toy. He was almost disappointed there were no monsters here to fight. Almost.]
Usually new guys show up with a new batch of monsters in tow. Are you a new guy?
no subject
Sorry my timing was off. Next time I get kidnapped I'll make sure to leave instructions.
[Andros was pretty disappointed there were no monsters too. Honestly, he kind of wanted to blow something up right now. ]
Here? I'm new, yeah.
no subject
[He doesn't realize how that would sound like total nonsense to a newbie.]
I guess that's one less thing to worry about right now. Uh, welcome to Hadriel, this place is a shithole a lot of the time. But at least it's a shithole without monsters at the moment.
no subject
The Door...thats the portal I went through to get here, right? Are you telling me these ....whoever are using something they don't understand?
[He almost wished for Astronema. At least his sister was competent and always knew what she was doing.]

Re: Andros | OTA |Collosseum + exploring
Cal knew better too, though. He knew better than to try talking to people, and yet... No one had been rude lately, maybe he was on a roll. He couldn't see the person's face, so maybe that was an omen.]
Lost?
Re: Andros | OTA |Collosseum + exploring
[Andros didn't pull off his helmet. Yet. Just because there wasn't an attack now didn't mean there wasn't one coming.]
You mean was I just abducted? Yes, yes I was. So what is it now?
Re: Andros | OTA |Collosseum + exploring
Now you're stuck with the rest of us. They didn't even give you a good game this time. You'd best hope you're not what these gods are looking for. Maybe they'll let you leave. If they can ever figure out what the hell they're doing.
sorry this took so long darling! <3
And what are these gods looking for?
[Were they even gods? Or super powerful beings? Was there a difference?]
Ahh. So they're that special kind of'competent'. Great.
No worries, love! <3 <3 <3
Even in that context, "competent" is generous.
Re: No worries, love! <3 <3 <3
[Because...really? If they wanted happy loving thoughts, they picked the wrong guy. Andros decided to finally pull off his helmet.]
So....how badly do their mistakes come out? Are we talking natural disasters, giant monsters? Buildings reduced to rubble? Plagues? Monsters?
[Just how dangerous where these guys. Cause, well, after fighting his sister for most of his life, Andros had a high standard as to what real competance was. Real competence was successfully taking over the universe. ....And that probably wasn't something he should be super proud about, considering he had to kill her in order to save everyone. But still. He was proud of his sisters ability. Clearly this was not something these gods shared. Were they just ability without knowledge and the wisdom to make sane decisions?]
