Another day, another mysterious transportation to a strange and alien city inside a cave surrounded by monsters. Or maybe that's not normal for you? Weird! You awaken on the ground of a large arena, a stone ceiling stretching high above you. Welcome to Hadriel! Oh, but you aren't alone. That 'surrounded by monsters' bit? Yeah...
Do you hear a buzzing? Better start running now. Along with all the newbies, the Door has brought in quite a few tracker jackers. Wasps are already horrible, and these things are even worse. Bigger and much more dangerous than the insects they were genetically modified from, tracker jackers will sting anyone they think is a threat. Their stings cause extreme pain and hallucinations, and if you're stung too many times - well, that's it for you. You can try to calm them down with smoke, fight them, or just run like hell. Maybe you'll get lucky.
It's hard to fight if you don't have a weapon, though. But hey - you're in luck! Rage, who usually supplies the city with weapons, is currently gone, but the Door has provided you with some instead! That's right, you might find a sword, a gun, a bow and arrow, or an exotic foreign weapon to defend yourself with! Of course, they're all made of plastic and completely incapable of hurting anything. Have fun!
Let's hope your legs are faster than those wasps, and you survive your first few minutes in Hadriel. After you've find your way out of the colosseum there's plenty of other distractions. Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers July 10th-16th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
colosseum;
"Look up and run!"

Still, it worked! Will ducked down and moved to the side in an instant. Looking up and slightly backward as he did. At first, he assumed it was the flames lashing above him that he should be fearful of, it wasn't until they died down some, that Will spotted the giant wasp-like creatures.
Scampering forwards, realizing the danger he was in, Will almost fell to the ground. He was in a bad way, sure, he'd been in worse but his body was still sore. He'd been pushed from a moving train, shot in the shoulder and was about to have his skull cut wide open. So forgive his Bambi-like legs if you'd be so kind?
"... Pell?" There it was, the recognition and for a moment, Will simply stood up and stood still. A smile fought its way onto his confused expression, mouth parting as if to say more yet nothing came.

Everyone else can fend for themselves for a moment.

This aching body, the rattled ribs, and bruised bones could deal with a little more pain, Will hadn't died yet, he was sure it would take a little more than Pell's slim body to push him over the edge. So, with grit teeth and a held in breath, Will wrapped his arms tightly back around Pell. It was good to see a happy, familiar face. Shame about the oversized wasps though.
Nodding, their reunion could wait, it wasn't safe here, not for either of them. "I never realized you could make fire on command?" A smile, a jovial tone to his breathless voice as they made their dash towards the exit.

He does now, though, his free hand extended before them clearing the path to the exit. As monsters go, these have been the easiest for Pell to deal with, though he'll have a hell of a time at the clinic later healing those who were stung. But for now there's just Will to worry about -- once they're outside and a safe distance away he leans up on his toes and presses in for another hug, this one much more careful.
"I went to call you last week and you were gone, and this..." He shakes his head a little, sinking back onto his heels and looking up at Will, considering the damage. He's got his medical bag with him, hanging at his hip, and is planning to heal the worst of it now if Will lets him.

In all honestly, Will was impressed. Pell had been quite handy over the months he'd known him. Months, that's right... He'd only known Pell for little under a year and yet the 2 years he spent away from him felt such a little time. It was like he'd known him all his life.
That huge, albeit being a little more on the gentle side, still drew a grimace and wince from Will's lips. He was aching, but Pell's talk of looking for him brought Will back down to earth with a start. Taking Pell's face, each cheek in each palm as he bent his head down a little, almost touching foreheads. "I'm sorry, Pell... I didn't mean to worry you. I just... Just woke up at home one day." A smile as Will closed his eyes and sighed. "It's okay, I don't want my wounds healed just yet...I want someone to see them first." To see me.

"I know it's not your fault... I should have been glad you were home but I just missed you." And he's glad Will's back, fairly obviously. His smile is warm and happy, but fades a little when Will says he doesn't want to be healed. Who does he want to see them first? Why? It happened at home, so he must be talking about Hannibal... Pell's mind works at that, tries to make sense of it and fails. It's not his business, though, Will will tell him if he wants to.
His eyes flutter closed as well and he just lets himself enjoy the warmth of Will's hands for a moment. "Alright. Come to me after? I've got Winston back at the house... your dog is quite the escape artist, you know."
no subject
"In all honestly, Pell... I'd rather be here than back home right now." It was true. Hannibal had been about to cut into his skull and expose his brain. There was a frying pan heating at the side of the table and three places set. Had Will not been so heavily drugged at the time, he would have sworn he was the main course. He couldn't tell Pell that, not yet at least.
Nodding and finally letting Pell's head go, tracing his hands down Pell's shoulders and arms until his hands once more slipped into Pell's. "I will, I promise." He smiled, tipping his head so to better see his friends face. At the news of Winston still being here and his mischief, Will laughed. "He's always been a handful. Tends to run off whenever I do. I'm surprised you were able to keep him in one place. I'm impressed."

"In my investigation, I was pushed from a moving train, later I was shot by the same woman... And then there's this." Lightly touching the straight-line of a cut that wept blood slowly across the right-hand side of his forehead. "I really am okay, Pell. Just a little battle damaged."

"He did? He's still here then... That's good, that's what I need."
Pell wasn't stupid, he knew Will and Hannibal had some kind of complicated relationship back home, they worked together and lived together here in Hadriel. There was no point in lying to Pell. After some thought Will closed his eyes and nodded his head.
"You know what, I think I'll take you up on that offer now after all. I mean, it's not like my wounds are going to completely vanish if you heal them a little, right?"
no subject
"I suppose I don't have to heal them all the way, no. You'll scar, though."
