What: The event log for the Bad End event
Where: All over the city!
When: August 23rd-September 5th
Warnings: Bad futures, awkward conversations, smashed mirrors
You wake up to find a mirror at your bedside - a pretty nice one, too, a silver hand mirror perfect for fixing your hair in. Only when you try to do that, it's not your gorgeous reflection that you see. It's something else - a terrible future, just about as bad as anything you could imagine for yourself.
Maybe you see your loved ones dead on the ground, and you know it's your fault. Maybe you see the goal you've been working so hard for pulled out of your reach forever. Maybe you see someone you've hurt in the past ruining your life. Maybe you see your hot girlfriend leaving you to shack up with your worst enemy. Whatever you see, it really sucks, and you know that it's possible. This future could happen if you make the wrong choices, give in to your worst impulses.
Break the mirror if you want, but you'll see the same vision in any reflective surface in the city. You can't break them all, but you can sure try. And what will you do when you see your best friend's vision - and it features you betraying them?
Seek reassurance, give reassurance, lash out, vow to yourself that you'll never let it turn out that way, sink into the depths of sorrow because you feel like the future you see is inevitable. Whatever you do, it won't take away those visions - not until the event is over.► This log covers August 23rd-September 5th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you can't handle the idea of your dark future, or maybe you just accidentally slip and fall on a mirror shard, let us know here.

I will be useful and they will know my worth.

[It was a taunt and he grinned as he kicked her back as well just as hard before reaching out for the bottle to take it from her.]
I'm sure they'll try to reform you and try to get you to see the light, however it works.
no subject
Shut up. I will have a place. You will die or rot in some Republic prison as an example.
[She glares at him with real hatred suddenly. It isn't fair that her reflection wears a First Order uniform, when she's done so much trying to change everything in her to avoid it.]
I will not die in exile.
no subject
[But he would do everything he could do to prevent that. He wasn't going to end up like Tarkin, Piett, or the cowardly Imperials who either flocked to the New Republic or were caught up after the war.
He took the bottle, finishing off the last bit of whiskey despite the fact he was aware of how she was glaring at him.]
You're already in exile. At least, you looked like it when I found you.
no subject
Fuck your mother.
[She flicks sand at him, knowing how childish it seems.]
Where else am I supposed to go, hmm? What does the mighty General say?
no subject
This great general would say that we go wherever this is another bottle of whiskey.
[Normally he didn't drink so often but he doubted Anakin or Kylo were home.]
So lead the way, minister.
no subject
Now that is an agreeable solution. Yes. I shall not drown you tonight.
[Not that she was planning on it, but there's no need to let Hux know that. ]
To the bar, General. We are doing shots. I have decided.
[As soon as she can stand up. It might take a moment.]
no subject
[He had his blaster in his pocket but his gloves were still on and shooting here wasn't really practical and it wouldn't suit his purposes.]
A good decision
[He waited for her to stand, offering no help once he was on his feet.]

[Despite her drunkenness, Maketh manages to get up under her own power. She's always been good at that.]
Pick something good, will you? For the gods. I'm not wasting time pretending they've been clever.
no subject
[Once she was on her feet he let her lead the way to the bar, falling into step beside her as he raised his eyebrows.]
They seem fond of taking the worst things from our minds and shoving them in our face lately. It's getting tiring.
no subject
[Because the truth is, no matter how distressing the mirror was, it was nothing new. Only her bad thoughts made physical.]
I'm going to hurt them. All of them. It might take me a very long time, but I -- I will wait.
[She nods.]
I will wait.
no subject
[Though he shuddered to think another incident involving Love. He still had lingering indigestion from that one.]
They'll suffer. I'm working as quickly as I can with the materials I have available.
[He thought the Empire was hard up before, this is something even worse. He would never complain about having to go to ice planets to extract kyber ever again.]
no subject
[Maketh bares her teeth. She's patient. It's only a matter of time before she can get her revenge.]
Good. The Guard hates you, obviously, but they see your use. They'll back us when the time comes.
no subject
Of course they will, if they have even a bit of common sense.
no subject
[She says this as a warning, in case he's forgotten where they both stand.]
They will do what is necessary. Though I suggest shutting your fool mouth more often, General. Bragging is unbecoming.
no subject
[And he was rather proud of what he had managed to create even in this place for both the guard and a few projects just for himself.]
But for now, I think we just need more whiskey.
[He really wasn't in a hurry to return home.]
no subject
[To get more whiskey and possibly sleep on the floor like the responsible adults they are.]
Keep up!
no subject
Good. Perhaps we'll be lucky and the quality of whiskey has improved.
[They are great at being responsible adults.]
no subject
[Quality is something that other people worry about, people who aren't borderline alcoholics. Maketh grins at him, laughing.]
We'll fix that.
no subject
[He had looked down on Maketh for drinking so much but he was starting to understand why she did. He had a feeling he needed a new hobby now that Kylo had left.]
I put my trust in you then, since you know what you're doing.
no subject
[And then they're at the bar. Wonderful. Time to drink away their feelings.]
