[Semi-Open] Clinical Trials (backdated to 9-9)
Who: Michael Munroe, clinic staff, anyone who happens to be there?
What: clinic mingle/job hunting
Where: the clinic
When: somewhat post mirror event, so backdated to around 9/9
Warnings: Michael is involved, so talk of dead bodies might (probably) happen
[Michael is feeling restless and generally bad after the whole future-mirror incident, which just further confirms his need to find something to do with himself. He needs a distraction. Lots of them, preferably.
When he talked with Carlisle, the only thing he thought he might be suited to was the clinic; being a guard is probably a bad idea, as convenient as it might be, and he knows nothing about bartending or sewing. So clinic it is.
It takes him a few days to get back to... "normal", and then to psych himself up enough to actually go do the thing. He makes his way to the clinic, though once he's inside, he looks maybe a little lost. Does this place have applications? Is there an interview process? Does he just... sign up? Eventually he'll wander up to someone with a sort of quiet:]
Hi, I was wondering about... working here?
[ooc: Okay, Prompts!
1. You can grab Michael while he's still dithering in the doorway
2. You can be the person he eventually talks to
3. Put up your own toplevel if you want! I'm down with using this for general clinic... use
4. Got other ideas? Let's go for it! Hmu @

prompt 1, sorry about her
[Hi, Michael. Brennan has places to be. Namely, inside the clinic to check on their supply levels.]
Please move so I can get inside.
[That sounds more like an order than a request, though. She would be sorry, but she does not think she is being rude.]
no subject
Sorry, sorry. Didn't mean to block the door.
[So this is going well.]
no subject
She does not thank him as he steps aside, just walks past him into the clinic. She starts for where the supplies are stored, but when it becomes clear that Michael is still here, she turns to face him again.]
Are you here for someone?
no subject
[But either she works here or she's about to rob the place, so she'll do.]
I was actually looking for a job.

Prompt 2 Pls!
Well we are always glad for more help. Do you have any prior experience working in a medical clinic?
no subject
Uh... not exactly. I do have first aid training and stuff- I went to med school. [He didn't finish, but whatever.] Just haven't actually worked with living patients.

We could always use a hand, there's a ton to do. Are you some sort of doctor or just a good samaritan..?
why yes you can
[He shrugs awkwardly.]
I work in a medical-adjacent field, I guess? I have some training.
whoohoo!
What field? Did you want to actually work with patients?

so so so sorry for being so late D:
i see everyone's just stolen kate's job so i'll go 3.
Whatever the case, eventually, she's there, with a ton of pouches stacked on one side of the counter, filling each one by one with the objects that can make up a quick first aid kit for people to take with them. She glances up at the doorway when someone walks past the room she's using. )
You new?
( She's guessing. Someone better have written this all down. )
no subject
He just... wishes that adjustment would hurry up.
He's actually looking for somewhere to make himself useful when Kate calls out to him. He stops and leans back through the doorway. She had to have been talking to him, right?]
Uh, yeah. And you're... not? I've seen you around, I think.
[Oh wait this is the part of human interaction where you introduce yourself. Good job, Michael.]
Um, Michael. [He steps in to offer her a handshake.]
no subject
Now they have it. Lots of it. )
Kate. ( She doesn't smile, but she doesn't look unfriendly either as she shakes his hand. ) Run the admin stuff mainly. ... Mostly means I check if we're low on anything and make sure this place is clean, in practice.
( Running the organisational side of a place that can't actually be that organised due to the chaotic nature of the city isn't nearly as involved as doing it back home. )
Also help people if they have problems with their powers.
( Not that it's something that really seems to crop up here. )

1...ish idk it's all good
Oh. It's you. Michael-ya...
[in the "oh hey you're not dead, good" sort of way]
yeah whatever works tbh
Uh, yep. It's me. Do you... work here now?
[Michael remembers him saying he was some kind of surgeon. Of course he can remember that, and not his name. Good job.]
no subject
[less, if only because there hasn't been that much to doctor up. Oh well, more time for research]
Do you need something? It doesn't look like you've been punching mirrors like a lot of people.

So you're the new help right? Did you actually want to help or did you get drafted? I'm Will Solace.
[The teen stuck his hand out for a shake if he wanted it, if not, no big deal. Some people didn't like to touch. Will? He was a toucher. He'd also been drafted, while offering to help out. Go figure.]
no subject
Yeah, that's me. Michael Munroe. [He takes Will's hand. Hands are fine.]
I volunteered, but now I have to ask you the same question. [He'd also like to ask him if he's old enough to work here, but that seems... maybe rude?]
no subject
Nice to meet you. I actually volunteered too, and was drafted at the same moment. It's nice to be wanted I guess, right? You have medical training or healing abilities?
[Will was going to offer to show him around if no one else had, but he needed to know whether to show this guy things like surgical supplies or not. He certainly didn't want him getting into it if he didn't know what he was doing.]

no subject
[It has not, however, been that long since he used it.]
So uh, is there like... some kind of... form I need to fill out, or?
no subject
[a place like this, having a talent for healing has got to come in handy]
I don't think so? I never filled anything out. Just showed up one day and said I was interested.
I'm George, by the way. Which makes you...?

[So it definitely takes pressure off the people who work here to have more coworkers, especially during an event or something when not all of them might be available.]
Do you have any sort of medical experience?
