Tyki and Kanda - Moving in Mayhem

Part 1 - Tyki only

[Despite entering an official courtship two months ago, it's only been in the past couple of days that Ikaruga formally extended the invitation for Tyki to move in with her. He's used one of the spare bedrooms in her home before to the point that it's unofficially his. And so, they're out shopping, to see what they can find. Most of the things the Door brings in are unsightly, but once in a while she finds something worthwhile.

She's making conversation as they walk along. This trip is more for him than it is for her. That's not stopping her from looking at some items for her, too.]

I never did mention this before, but I was interested in joining a different guild at first when I was a child. Coincidentally, that guild was the one that the only person to defeat me was from.

[He wants to restore the amount of pillows he had destroyed or had been destroyed in the last few months so he'll be picking up as many of those that he can get his hands on. Not to mention he would have to start stock piling food along with hers even if he kind of did already do that. He had almost every meal at her place for a while now.

It's when he's bent over a few items that he's found that he listens to her conversation.] I have a feeling you would've fought with them eventually given the choice. Perhaps even rivals.

Rivals seems likely. The main reason I never did try to join Fairy Tail was because it would have been impossible to keep it a secret from my father. The guild was far away from home, and...well. The guild was often featured in Sorceror Magazine, and their physically attractive members were regularly shown in revealing clothing. Sometimes only swimwear.

[She catches sight of a tiny bikini that barely covers anything beyond the absolute essentials, walks over and holds it up for Tyki's inspection.]

Very revealing swimwear, like so.

[While she's not a prude, she's also not someone who would feel comfortable showing that much of her body in public, nor would she want her photo taken in any bathing suit - even the tasteful one pieces she's worn on the beach in the past. It's not appropriate for a Lady to let such a picture be taken in the first place.]

You can see how that might be a bit of a deterrent, yes?

Ah right. You wanted to keep it a secret. That's understandable.

[He listens more than he'll speak right now as he did want to hear what she had to say. It was likely a good sign of respect as well to talk with share and trade back and forth. It keeps things on an even balance between the two.

Yet his eyes are lowering to what she's pointing out and while he doesn't go beet red like a common teenager he is going to stare almost in disbelief at how little to nothing that bathing suit contains.]

How does that even cover anything at all?!

Really, the only reason I got away with my little secret was because the woman who recruited me into Death's Head Caucus infiltrated my family's household to be my governess.

[She laughs softly at the memory.]

She fed me little bits of information about the guild, and just like any overconfident child, I thought I was the one in control when I joined. She was truly an artful manipulator.

[And yet, her tone is fond rather than annoyed. She doesn't regret joining Death's Head Caucus for an instant. It became her second family.

Her smile widens as she watches Tyki's reaction. While they both have a sense of formality and propriety, she suspected that Tyki's less accustomed to seeing revealing clothing than she is. Though she prefers more modest attire herself, she doesn't really bat an eyelash at it on others. It's common enough, albeit moreso among commoners than the upper class.]

Shall I bring it home so you can see what it covers? I may not be willing to be seen in such a thing in public, but perhaps if you win enough hands of poker...

Very convenient. Even at a young age something gave you an advantage?

[He picks up on that fondness despite the words. In a normal situation he can imagine no child, woman or man would enjoy being manipulated and pushed around. There were some that had their hands in everything and it was true from a young age not many ever got he choice of free will.

Yet you can't go waving something so skimpy in front of him and not expect him to focus on that. He's not a prude like a proper gentleman should be but he's never seen something so tantalizingly horrifying in his life. He's use to seeing people naked but not discussed so publicly.]

I am a betting man so perhaps you should bring it home.

It was more of an advantage for the guild. Guilds thrive when they bring in young talent that can grow with the guild, and Death's Head Caucus was not a legal guild that paid its taxes to the Magic Council and to the kingdom. I did not want my father to find out about my membership in a guild, and the guild did not want my father to find out about its existence unless he was discreetly seeking out their services.

[It was a mutually beneficial relationship, but recruiting the discreetly rebellious daughter of the lord of the land was every bit as much a tactical thing as it was recruiting her for her abilities.]

Ah, but what will you bet in return, my love?

[She can't see anything equivelantly skimpy for men in the shop, but her eyes do fall on a hideous men's shirt. Oh, look. It's in his size.]

Perhaps wearing this might convince you to let me win a few hands, so you could be rid of it.

Part 2 - Kanda, Tyki & Ikaruga

Part 2 - Kanda, Tyki & Ikaruga

[It's only when they encounter Kanda as they're carrying an armload of things to her home that Ikaruga realizes that it might have been courteous to warn Kanda that Tyki was moving in. She knows their history with one another is unpleasant, and she does consider Kanda a friend. It hadn't occurred to her before since Tyki visits her home regularly. Surely Kanda has noticed that at some point that Tyki is in the area frequently.

Still. Oops. Now that they've returned to Delight's housing area with a decent haul of household items and new clothes, she's regretting her lapse in judgement. Hopefully, it won't end up with all of these new things being sliced up. Will Tyki be able to resist riling Kanda up? That's debateable.]

Hello, Kanda.

[Hopefully a calm greeting will keep the situation from escalating. Hopefully. She's not holding her breath.]

[ He knew that Ikaruga and Tyki knew each other and were friends, but he certainly didn't know they were a thing, so when he spots them both in front of Ikaruga's house, he's stopping. He almost wants to just turn around and go back inside of his house, but he knows that wont do anything considering the last time Tyki took it upon himself to be invited over.

No, if anything gets sliced up, it's Kanda's things. However, it's likely a certainty that Tyki will end up riling Kanda up in someway. He always had.

Ugh, why couldn't this be a normal day without Noah so he could get his scavenging done.]

Hello. [ See, normally he would ask if she needed help, but considering that Tyki was there, his help clearly wasn't needed. ]

[He's carrying most of it even if she wouldn't let him carry everything and with both arms full he's taking precaution not to squeeze anything in those bags. He's almost carrying impossibly too much for a man of his build but he was cheating.

He naturally feels his Innocence nearby but largely ignores it. It's only when Ikaruga speaks up with Kanda's voice ringing in afterwards does he notice him at all.

Then he does something unexpected and says absolutely nothing to Kanda at all. Ikaruga has the keys and while he does have his own he's not pulling them out.] You know Mr. Tall, Moody and Boring?

[Ikaruga arches her eyebrows in mild surprise at that question. She thought she'd mentioned training with Kanda to him at least once, and certainly she and Kanda have spoken on the network publicly before, in posts Tyki's replied to. But perhaps she forgot to mention training with Kanda and perhaps Tyki didn't pay attention to the other conversations going on within those network posts, given his preference for face to face interaction.]

Kanda and I spar together. I thought I mentioned that to you, but I could be wrong.

[Maybe she'd only mentioned training with Anakin to him, and training her students in the late mornings. She manages to balance all the items on one arm as she pulls out her keys to unlock the door, albeit somewhat awkwardly.]

[ Tyki was also lazy and a cheater. Finding out who knew who was likely too much effort, even if it meant Tyki could somehow bait and goad Kanda into reacting.

Still, Kanda's giving a snort as he's moving to continue about his business. If he can avoid bickering and just Tyki all together, he was happy to try. Sorry Ikaruga, normally he would possibly help but right now he's just all NOPE.JPG while going about his merry way. ]

Ah, right. I sometimes forget that the swordsman actually leaves his room once in a while. I'm surprised he even proposes much of a challenge to you given your speed and strength.

[Because he's outright calling Kanda weak from how much he never leaves his home. He'll shift things over more into his arm to try to lean against Ikaruga and help ease her own burden. She can at least lean a few bags against him.] He's lost his will. He's their whipping dog now. It's worse than the organization that leashed and collared him at home.

Kanda is skilled enough to be a worthwhile sparring partner. If he were truly weak, you would ignore him entirely, my lord.

[She unlocks the door, and brings everything she's carrying inside, intent on ensuring that none of the items get damaged in a potential skirmish. Tyki's words are more harsh than usual, replacing their usual playful torment with something that sounds a bit like disappointment. She doesn't know what prompted this, but Kanda seems intent on trying to ignore it.]

OPEN - Late morning training

[As per her usual training schedule, Ikaruga is out in the late morning ready to teach. Sometimes she gets multiple people showing up, sometimes only one or two, and sometimes nobody shows up that day. But she's consistently there and willing to teach anyone who wants to learn. When others don't come, she simply works on her own technique, not even incorporating magic into it. Since her magic is focused on cutting, mastering it required mastering how to use a sword. She won't let herself slack off, not even for one day.

She goes through an elaborate and deadly looking kata, slashing left, right, up and down in rapid succession - it looks as if she's battling a skillful invisible opponent with the way that she moves, not only slashing, but also blocking and dodging at certain points.

Finally, when she's done, she pauses to take a breath and greets the person who's been there for at least part of the kata.]

Ah, hello. Do excuse me. I got caught up in what I was doing.

[Margaery has been watching her practice with mild awe and definite appreciation. she makes it all seem so easy, even easier than her brother's skills. when Ikaruga is done, Margaery applauds]

Oh, that was wonderful! You truly are talented.

Thank you, Margaery. I appreciate your kind words. Maintaining my routine even here has helped grant me some stability in this chaotic place.

[What's also helped has been picking up new skills, and sparring with skilled opponents. The cavern monsters aren't much of a challenge for her, generally, but there are a few very skilled people whom she can spar with.]

I can understand why, watching you practice. It seemed as much of an art form as a form of battle, so that practicing could be as much a form of meditation as war.

[Margaery wouldn't be able to take on even the weakest cavern monster in her current state, but she's looking to change that]

Yes, I have thought about it and have decided to try to learn how to defend myself. I can't always trust in the good intentions of others.

A wise choice. Most people here are reasonably helpful, but even helpful people cannot always be relied upon. They could be on the other end of the city when you found yourself in need of assistance.

[She has a few practice swords collected from the armoury with her today, and now that Rage has returned, she can help with selecting an appropriate blade soon enough. She selects a simple practice sword, blunt rather than sharp, and presents it.]

[Margaery takes the blade, holding it rather awkwardly, but bear in mind she's never held one before. she's bound to be awkward the first few times]

A training katana. A sword like this is light, and perfect for a smaller combatant.

[Indeed, it's only a couple of pounds, but still sturdy. Ikaruga has standards even for training blades. She holds up her own sword, showing Margaery the correct way to grip it when it's drawn.]

My primary style involves quickly drawing the blade and precisely striking the target, but I know others that can use this sword of sword, and other styles that use other kinds of swords as well. This is the style I have studied the longest, though, and was able to fight capably with even when I was ten years old.

[it's still a couple of pounds that she's not used to. Margaery adjusts her hold on the sword to match]

It sounds like a style that would be good for me to learn. After all, if you mastered it at ten, surely I can with a lot of practice?
