If it's your first time here, congratulations! You get the lovely, unique sensation of eating dirt as the Door knocks you facefirst into the ground. You'll probably be a little woozy at first, so take your time getting up- meet some folks, introduce yourself, don't be weird about it. Welcome to Hadriel! You're not the only person who just got to taste alien dirt firsthand, though- there are several people in the same predicament as you, so feel free to say hi! Probably shouldn't spend too much time talking though, because the lovely trees that you thought were just scenery are starting to creep ever closer the more you let your guard down.
All around you is a forest of spooky evil trees- it seems to be just a normal sort of forest at first, but the more you take your eyes off of them, the more they shift around you and close in. Or is that just your imagination? If you move too close to one, look out! They're rather determined to pick you up and stick you into the ground so you might take root- and if you resist, well, a severed bud can still serve as a seed, right?
If the trees tear your clothes though, don't worry, there's plenty of extras to be found lying around the arena if you don't mind them being a bit dirty. Lying on the ground and sometimes hanging off of these tree branches are some free shirts, yours for the taking! You know, if you'd be caught dead with one...
But hey, after you've met new friends and found a new aesthetic, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
1!
Luckily, that distinctive New Elfington accent isn't hard to pick out of a crowd, even if Lup herself is completely unrecognizable. Angus screeches to a halt in front of her, staring at her ghostly form like... well, like how anyone would stare at a spooky, scary skeleton ghost. ]
Ma'am?! L-Lup? Is that you? Why're you...
[ He trails off, and frowns to himself as a few more pieces of the 'what the hell is going on back home' puzzle slide into place. ]
... Ohhhhhh the 'red robes' thing makes way more sense now.

But Angus' voice is too familiar to her now after hearing him through the Umbra Staff for over a year, Lup gracefully spinning in mid-air to shoot an unseen smile his way. She floats down to his level immediately, raising a skeletal hand to drop on top of his head as if she could touch him.]
Hey, kid! Figure out the whole mystery yet? I left for like sixty years, so I expect the World's Greatest Detective to have cracked that shit ages ago.

Um... I think so? I figured out that you were dead and haunting Taako's umbrella, and I know that you guys and Madame Director are from another planar system and knew each other a long time ago, but you didn't remember any of it because of the baby voidfish? But I'm going on a year's worth of experiences, and maybe ten minutes of an infodump that happened just before I woke up here, so! I think it's understandable if I don't have everything quite sorted out yet!

Lup's head tilts to the side in an unseen smile, her hand falling away back to her side. She had liked Angus enough before she'd gone back to experience the last sixty years of her life, but now with an even better knowledge for the kid and his weird relationship with her friends, she's absolutely a fan.]
No, you're pretty spot on, kid. You've definitely got a better head on your shoulders than all of my friends. [Who, if Lup remembered correctly, had come from the exact same time and still hadn't exactly known where she'd ended up. The finest the Institute had to offer! Ha!]
Any questions left unanswered you want filled in on?

(He assumes Lup is grinning, anyway. Skeletons are very good at grinning.)
He also pulls out his notebook and a worn-down pencil, because Angus is the kind of person who makes lists and jot notes and giant It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia-style mindmaps when he's in the middle of figuring out a mystery. ]
Well, there are a few things... But if you'd like, they can wait til we're out of here, since we're still pretty surrounded by burning wreckage and angry tree-monsters.

We should... go.
