If it's your first time here, congratulations! You get the lovely, unique sensation of eating dirt as the Door knocks you facefirst into the ground. You'll probably be a little woozy at first, so take your time getting up- meet some folks, introduce yourself, don't be weird about it. Welcome to Hadriel! You're not the only person who just got to taste alien dirt firsthand, though- there are several people in the same predicament as you, so feel free to say hi! Probably shouldn't spend too much time talking though, because the lovely trees that you thought were just scenery are starting to creep ever closer the more you let your guard down.
All around you is a forest of spooky evil trees- it seems to be just a normal sort of forest at first, but the more you take your eyes off of them, the more they shift around you and close in. Or is that just your imagination? If you move too close to one, look out! They're rather determined to pick you up and stick you into the ground so you might take root- and if you resist, well, a severed bud can still serve as a seed, right?
If the trees tear your clothes though, don't worry, there's plenty of extras to be found lying around the arena if you don't mind them being a bit dirty. Lying on the ground and sometimes hanging off of these tree branches are some free shirts, yours for the taking! You know, if you'd be caught dead with one...
But hey, after you've met new friends and found a new aesthetic, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[Just throwing that out.]
Nah, which is a real shame. One of those sacrifices you have to make for becoming an undead eldritch horror. [She's just about to expand on her abilities a little, especially the insane power upgrade she's gotten, when the convo shifts to something so much more important.] What the-- I leave for a week and you fucking dicks start blazing without me? I'm offended.

[He is relieved she back, though. Hopefully he's not showing it too much.]
Speaking of blazing, how'd you feel about setting somebody on fire for me?
[Ephemera's mouth twitches. He fights it down, but there's real anger behind the expression.]
He's got it coming.

Now you're speaking my language! We'd make a killing together for sure.
[Oh, he's showing how much he missed her. In his own way. Which is why Lup floats forward, quickly moving behind the man, to lean playfully over his shoulder without touching him, her delighted tone enough to convey that she was smiling on the inside.] Set someone on fire, eh?
[That anger that rises so quickly, however, reads even more plainly on his face. Lup floats back to hover in front of him, hands moving to where her hips would be, tipping her head to the side. After a second, she lifts her palm and summons flames to her hand.] For you? Ab-so-fucking-lutely.
[No explanation needed. Tell her where to go and she's there.]

[There's part of Ephemera that wishes she was a soldier like him, or at least had armor. They would've worked well together. But it's not too bad like this, talking back and forth, the ebb and flow. She teases, he teases back, it works.
It's simple, one of the few things in Hadriel that is.]
Can't kill him. I promised. But fire's not killing.
[Ephemera twitches. Grins at her.]
Calls himself Washington. Make that fucker dance.

But she wouldn't mind fighting with Ephemera at her side. They'd definitely kick some major ass together. (And considering where they are, it'll probably happen at some point.)
The fire in her palm dances upwards along her skeletal arm, quickly engulfing her shoulders, then up to her face. It won't last forever, but with a little illusion magic, the fire looks like Lup's old body, her wild hair, her pointed ears. She grins, finally one he is able to see, and makes a motion as if to snap her fingers.]
Alright, no kill zone. Gotcha. Need me to leave him with a little message or anything?

[It's beautiful. There's no other word for it. The fire shivers up her bones and becomes her. Ephemera breathes, trying to memorize it. He'll have to paint this sometime. Try to get the reds just right. Put the quickness in her hands, the lever arc of her eyes. Everything burning.
He returns her grin.]
No. Believe me, he'll know.

[Lup floats forward and presses a fiery palm to his burned cheek, it's warm but the fire is safe, but the next second she's gone, already off on her mission to find his guy and leave a little message his way.]
