If it's your first time here, congratulations! You get the lovely, unique sensation of eating dirt as the Door knocks you facefirst into the ground. You'll probably be a little woozy at first, so take your time getting up- meet some folks, introduce yourself, don't be weird about it. Welcome to Hadriel! You're not the only person who just got to taste alien dirt firsthand, though- there are several people in the same predicament as you, so feel free to say hi! Probably shouldn't spend too much time talking though, because the lovely trees that you thought were just scenery are starting to creep ever closer the more you let your guard down.
All around you is a forest of spooky evil trees- it seems to be just a normal sort of forest at first, but the more you take your eyes off of them, the more they shift around you and close in. Or is that just your imagination? If you move too close to one, look out! They're rather determined to pick you up and stick you into the ground so you might take root- and if you resist, well, a severed bud can still serve as a seed, right?
If the trees tear your clothes though, don't worry, there's plenty of extras to be found lying around the arena if you don't mind them being a bit dirty. Lying on the ground and sometimes hanging off of these tree branches are some free shirts, yours for the taking! You know, if you'd be caught dead with one...
But hey, after you've met new friends and found a new aesthetic, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[Of course Newt would accidentally text a bozo. He should've picked one of the more fun names. "Michael Munroe." Boring. He's probably a nerd.]
I was walking around after getting away from the demon trees.
What would be in here with me?

There's all kinds of stuff in there.
None of it good.
Monsters and stuff?
[Also wow he is not a nerd, you nerd!!!]

[...]
Sorry what? Monsters? What kind of monsters?
no subject
I thought you said you weren't an idiot?
Sorry.
But really you should never go far enough into a cave
that you can't find your way back out.
And yeah, monsters.
The people-eating kind.
Which way did you leave the place with the killer trees?

Screw you man. I didn't exactly plan on going spelunking. It was a straight shot back to the entrance but I've been retracing my steps for way longer than it took me to get as far as I did. Still no entrance.
People-eating monsters. OK. Good to know now that I'm already stuck in here. I'll keep an eye out I guess. Like what kind of people-eating monsters though?
Like bears?
Idk. I went toward the closest cave. Its not like anyone handed me a map.
no subject
But okay, closest cave to the coliseum.
I think I can find that.
Maybe just don't make a lot of noise
and nothing will hear you?
They're not bears.
They're whatever has shown up with the new people every month.
So weird crustacean tanks and giant bugs,
from what I've seen myself.
The bugs were mostly harmless unless you upset them.
But the tanks were bad news.
[You know, as tanks tend to be.]

[He's like real bad at that thing specifically but he can probably manage for a few minutes?]
Right. Someone mentioned that. Stuff showing up every month or whatever.
It was trees this time. They were freaky but they aren't exactly fast. I should be safe then right?
[Even he can outrun a tree.]
no subject
The problem is that it isn't just the trees.
It's everything that's shown up once a month for like,
two years.
There's weird lizard-dogs that are definitely carnivores,
and giant sasquatch things.
It's generally just
kind of a miracle you haven't been eaten yet.
