If it's your first time here, congratulations! You get the lovely, unique sensation of eating dirt as the Door knocks you facefirst into the ground. You'll probably be a little woozy at first, so take your time getting up- meet some folks, introduce yourself, don't be weird about it. Welcome to Hadriel! You're not the only person who just got to taste alien dirt firsthand, though- there are several people in the same predicament as you, so feel free to say hi! Probably shouldn't spend too much time talking though, because the lovely trees that you thought were just scenery are starting to creep ever closer the more you let your guard down.
All around you is a forest of spooky evil trees- it seems to be just a normal sort of forest at first, but the more you take your eyes off of them, the more they shift around you and close in. Or is that just your imagination? If you move too close to one, look out! They're rather determined to pick you up and stick you into the ground so you might take root- and if you resist, well, a severed bud can still serve as a seed, right?
If the trees tear your clothes though, don't worry, there's plenty of extras to be found lying around the arena if you don't mind them being a bit dirty. Lying on the ground and sometimes hanging off of these tree branches are some free shirts, yours for the taking! You know, if you'd be caught dead with one...
But hey, after you've met new friends and found a new aesthetic, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

--And where the fuck am I?

You're in Hadriel. It's... gonna take a while to explain everything. Where are you from?

He can't let anyone see that, though. Not now. He fumbles with his glasses instead, and clears his throat. ] I was near the Barrens, next to the trainyard with my friends.
[ We made a promise, he wants to say, but he doesn't and instead looks at his hand. There's a slash across the palm, scarred now instead of fresh, where a shard of a coke bottle had once served as an instrument in a blood pact. ]

[As much as Kyna struggles with this sort of thing usually, she catches the fear in his voice, and she feels a sudden pang of sympathy for him. He's just a kid. He must be terrified. She rests a hand on his shoulder.]
I'm from Brooklyn. Have you ever been there before?
[He has to be from Earth considering all those Scooby Doo references, right?]
no subject
Totally. Not personally, but it's in post cards and stuff. I'm from Maine. But you can't be from Brooklyn, your ears are too fucked.
no subject
God, none of you people have ever seen elves before. You know what's cool about being an elf?
[She reaches out to tap his glasses.]
My eyesight is perfect.
[Despite the ribbing, her tone is still friendly. She's not being mean, at least, just giving him shit back.]

[ Which is to say Richie does not appreciate that joke but isn't in the least hurt by it. Mostly because he's used to it, it's one of the main reasons he's part of the Loser's club. Also, because she's hot. ]
Shouldn't you be making toys in Santa's workshop, Chuckette?
no subject
[What a brat. Apparently she's not too bothered, because she makes a grab for his hand to start pulling him away from the trees.]
Are you gonna try to bully the trees to death, smart ass?
no subject
Are they--y'know--everywhere? Am I just in a big-ass forest? Where's everyone?
no subject
[She thinks? Hopefully.]
Everyone else is outside.

[ His gaze dips, and it would be subtle if it weren't for his magnifed lenses. It's quick, and he forces a smile that looks more like a grin, trying to ignore how his heart sinks. ]
They'll be along shortly, wot wot? I say, chap, be a right good strumpet and keep an eye out for 'em!

[She shoots it back automatically, but that looks doesn't slip past her. The stupid joking cover up is exactly what she'd do.]
Do you want me to help you look for them?
no subject
Just--uh--lemme know if you do find any of them, alright? They'll have this.
[ He opens his palm, revealing a jagged scar, fresh but not bleeding. ]
