If it's your first time here, congratulations! You get the lovely, unique sensation of eating dirt as the Door knocks you facefirst into the ground. You'll probably be a little woozy at first, so take your time getting up- meet some folks, introduce yourself, don't be weird about it. Welcome to Hadriel! You're not the only person who just got to taste alien dirt firsthand, though- there are several people in the same predicament as you, so feel free to say hi! Probably shouldn't spend too much time talking though, because the lovely trees that you thought were just scenery are starting to creep ever closer the more you let your guard down.
All around you is a forest of spooky evil trees- it seems to be just a normal sort of forest at first, but the more you take your eyes off of them, the more they shift around you and close in. Or is that just your imagination? If you move too close to one, look out! They're rather determined to pick you up and stick you into the ground so you might take root- and if you resist, well, a severed bud can still serve as a seed, right?
If the trees tear your clothes though, don't worry, there's plenty of extras to be found lying around the arena if you don't mind them being a bit dirty. Lying on the ground and sometimes hanging off of these tree branches are some free shirts, yours for the taking! You know, if you'd be caught dead with one...
But hey, after you've met new friends and found a new aesthetic, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[She knocks back the rest of her drink, then grins at him, nudging his leg with her foot.]
But you're the guest, so I'll give it to you.

[ He leans forward to unclasp his greaves, finally leaving him in just the survival suit and boots. He doesn't feel too compromised... so he reaches for his glass again as well, knocking back the mouthful left in it. ]
I think the point of the game's just to learn a little about the other person anyway. We were cheating.

[She turns so that her back is against the armrest and she's facing him.]
Ask me stuff.

[ Wash doesn't know how it works -- if it's something that people in her world can learn, or if you have to be born with it. There's media that talks about both, where he's from. ]

You think I could learn it?

You don't have to. I'm just saying it's gonna suck trying to get your bearings when you don't have a place to stay and there's some dude after your head.

[She's frowning at him a little.]
You don't have to act like you're a burden or something. I wouldn't have offered if it bugged me.

It's not fair for you to have to deal with this shit alone when he's got people on his side.

[ She's right, though. It didn't work.
But he doesn't want to endanger anyone here, much as people seem to be flinging themselves into the line of fire for him. For no good reason. It reminds him of the Reds and Blues, honestly. ]
...we'll see.

[So she definitely doesn't believe him. Kyna hauls herself up a little unsteadily.]
I'm gonna go get you a blanket and stuff. I'll be right back.
[She disappears into a back room for a moment, and when she returns, she's got a comforter and pillow in her arms, which she dumps unceremoniously on one side of the couch.]
Here. You can wake me up if you need anything.

[ Because he's exhausted -- as usual -- and feels like he might be able to actually get a nap in after a few drinks and knowing there's someone around to watch his back. Once she's gone he ditches his boots and unzips his survival suit a bit more, curling himself onto the couch.
For a little while, he rests. But then the dreams start.
Unsurprisingly considering the current circumstances, he dreams about Sharkface and Carolina. The fight that she told him about, the one that she lost. Except in the dream Wash is there, for some reason unable to move, unable to help. Stuck a passive observer as Sharkface burns her and breaks her, as she just tries to convince him to stop, finally knocking off her helmet where she lies in the snow. He lifts his pistol and turns to Wash, scarred face twisted into a triumphant sneer.
Wash wakes up with a shout as he pulls the trigger. ]
