If it's your first time here, congratulations! You get the lovely, unique sensation of eating dirt as the Door knocks you facefirst into the ground. You'll probably be a little woozy at first, so take your time getting up- meet some folks, introduce yourself, don't be weird about it. Welcome to Hadriel! You're not the only person who just got to taste alien dirt firsthand, though- there are several people in the same predicament as you, so feel free to say hi! Probably shouldn't spend too much time talking though, because the lovely trees that you thought were just scenery are starting to creep ever closer the more you let your guard down.
All around you is a forest of spooky evil trees- it seems to be just a normal sort of forest at first, but the more you take your eyes off of them, the more they shift around you and close in. Or is that just your imagination? If you move too close to one, look out! They're rather determined to pick you up and stick you into the ground so you might take root- and if you resist, well, a severed bud can still serve as a seed, right?
If the trees tear your clothes though, don't worry, there's plenty of extras to be found lying around the arena if you don't mind them being a bit dirty. Lying on the ground and sometimes hanging off of these tree branches are some free shirts, yours for the taking! You know, if you'd be caught dead with one...
But hey, after you've met new friends and found a new aesthetic, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

...er. Danke. That's very generous of you.
Is there a color you see that you'd prefer? [He's taller so. Maybe he can reach one she'd like better. Hopefully with less burger jargon.
... Austria squints past Nah. Did something just move-- he moves to clean any dirt and blood from his glasses that could be obscuring his vision.]
no subject
[no respectable person should be caught wearing that thing. she was largely kidding when she offered it to Austria, but it's hard to tell when she's joking because of how serious she looks.]
There must be a reason why they're up in these trees. Hmm.
[it's almost like they're... bait. or something.]
no subject
It's certainly fabric at the very least. [Which means it can be repurposed into something not hideous with enough effort? Hm. He'll take the shirt that's offered to him, draping it over an arm for now. It would be impolite to refuse it at least.]
Perhaps someone arrived whilst doing their laundry and merely tripped with enough force to propel their shirts into the trees? Do you feel a breeze at all? [The branches look like they're almost... moving some times. He can't feel a wind though.]
no subject
[she suddenly lunges to shove Austria with all her weight (which isn't much), as one of the branches suddenly lashes out at him. a couple t-shirts go flying into the air as the tree twists around.
now that she looks more closely at the trees, she can see that some of them have eyes. glowing, menacing eyes. wonderful.]
They aren't trees, they're monsters!
[monsters with terrible tastes in t-shirts, apparently.]
no subject
Well what do you think ha--gck!! [Austria freezes as one of the branches suddenly moves for him and doesn't see Nah launching herself at him at all. Even if there wasn't much weight behind her there doesn't actually need to be to make him lose his balance. His weak legs buckle and he falls over uselessly-- but doesn't get snatched by a branch at least!
What the hell is going on??]
Monsters?! [What? What??]
no subject
Can you fight, sir?
[a part of her is frightened, but she's been through too much to be killed by vegetation. one hand is in her bag, gripping her dragonstone.]
If not, I'll watch your back for you.
no subject
I don't have any weapons on me. [It's not a "no." Just looking at him though, he's obviously not physically imposing in the least. Austria scrambles back to his feet and looks at Nah. He doesn't know her that well and he would never doubt in a young lady because of her gender but--
She's so young looking? What does she expect to be able to do here?]
no subject
[not that there's much space to begin with since the trees are slowly creeping forward. looks like there's no time to wait for him to move. she's engulfed by a bright flash that lasts no more than a couple seconds, then there's a dragon standing where Nah once was, awkwardly cramped to avoid stepping on Austria.]
Stand back! [and she gets right to spitting fire at the trees to clear them out.]
1/2
is that a dragon?]
2/2
Austria's content to give her as much space as he can to avoid being stepped on or set on fire-- while simultaneously avoiding being grabbed by trees.]
...is it working?
no subject
it's almost cathartic, being able to rampage like this. but it isn't a proper rampage when she can't go completely wild with setting everything around her on fire. good enough, though.]
Of course! These things aren't tough at all!
[they're flammable. it's a very one-sided battle.]
no subject
Austria would vehemently disagree. They're sentient trees! Of course they're tough-- they build houses out of trees! Nah seems to be handling them quite well though, what with her ability to spit fire and physically be a DRAGON.
It's not as if he's any stranger to being useless though and watching someone else save him. He'll patiently wait for her to finish up.]
You're very good at that. [Breathing fire.]
no subject
Thanks. I've had a lot of practice. ... Hold still for a moment, would you?
[she suddenly grabs Austria, careful not to scratch him with her claws, and takes off into the air without so much as an extra warning.]
no subject
...A-ah--!!
[--and then Nah seems to solve all these problems instantaneously, grabbing hold of him and taking off into the sky. Austria pulls his legs out of reach of tree branch trying to grasp at him before he's out of range, before going completely rigid at her request. He looks terrified of being dropped. He'd been in a wheelchair once in his life already he had no desire to be in one again.]
W-warn a person before you just do something so reckless-- [Should he be admonishing her like this when she could dump him anywhere she pleased? Maybe not.]!!
no subject
Well, I did tell you to hold still. [there are what appears to be shops close by. safe enough. she descends and comes to a landing, and sets Austria down on the ground.]
1/2
I-I am holding still!
[Right up until she sets him down on the ground. Then. Austria's legs wobble and force him to acquaint his entire body to the sidewalk.
...god!]
2/2
Thanks entirely to her.]
Danke-- I'm very grateful Miss--? [He never did get her name did he?]
no subject
Nah. My name is Nah. And don't mention it, I'm sure anyone else there would have saved you as well.
[... probably. best not think too hard over that possibility. she sits back and looks at him expectantly, waiting for him to give his name.]
