What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.
This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.
Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.
To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...► This log covers October 14th-20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you die in dreams you don't die in real life, but if you somehow die in real life anyway, please let us know here.
Trafalgar Law - OPEN
Hope
[The dream wanders wildly from scene to scene, much more brightly-colored and inviting than most of his dreams tend to be. One minute it's the caves, then you walk through a door into a submarine, dark and metal-clad but filled with distant laughter. Then up a ladder to the deck but not the deck, instead a lovely town with elegant (and somewhat Spanish-looking) buildings, cobblestone streets, and delightful outdoor cafes. At least until you come around a corner and the architecture changes slightly to pure white walls and houses, and then beyond that is a lush forest.
Law is there, prowling in a brown jacket with the word "Corazon" emblazoned on the back. Which hopeful scene will visitors break in on?
1. The faces of his crew, all cheering and punching the air enthusiastically, all of them wearing identical jumpsuits with the Heart Pirates mark on the front. They're such a mishmash of body types, faces, and wacky hats, but jumping out in front of them is a walking, talking polar bear. Said polar bear pounces on Law practically in tears, smothering him in a genuine bear hug. If one were to step around and see how Law is taking this level of affection, well...they'd be surprised. He's smiling.
2. There's someone walking just ahead of Law, taking him and any visitors along on a tour of all these special places. Sandals, shorts, and a straw hat make him look like some kind of tourist as he passes from Dressrosa to the Mink Forest to Flevance, but Law follows him doggedly, always keeping him in close sight. The theme of this dream is that he's following, and who he's following. The phantom Luffy is likely to say some ridiculous things now and then, like calling out in search of a takoyaki stand or randomly claiming that Pirate Kings have to wear crowns so they need to find a newspaper and fold it into a crown for him.
3. The setting doesn't matter, the important thing is, Law is striding up to an extremely tall man with a black feathered coat over his shoulders. Law doesn't know what to say, but the other man does. He towers over Law by at least three feet as he gathers him in and tells him how proud he is, how the number of bullets he took was pretty shitty but at least he's alive...how he wants him to live, and not look back anymore.
Rather than Delight, Love, or Sorrow, this is Law's hope - that Cora-san would approve of him, that all the pain he went through was worth it. As they talk, the scene morphs back into the Hadriel caves, and Law reaches to touch his old friend. He's real, he's alive. The caves have brought him back to life. Now they can live like he always wanted, and Law disappears into a humongous black-feathered embrace.]

Law's eyes shift and he sees here there. It's a dream, he just assumes he's already populating his subconscious with memories gained recently]
Ah. Margaery-ya...did I say I would introduce you to my crew? This is them. This bunch of idiots are the Heart Pirates.
[and they really are idiots, most of them pose and flex for her.]
no subject
Yes, you did. And [she calls out to them] it's wonderful to meet all of you!
[she finds it charming]
no subject
Just watch out for Penguin, he tends to hit on anything that moves.
[The man in the penguin hat yells back "I do not! She has to be a girl first! Which means..." Oh god run he's going to try to put the moves on you, Marg.]
no subject
Oh? I'll consider myself warned, then. Thank you.
[ehhh, she's used to it]
no subject
Now that we're here, I...wait. Where are we?
[even as he turns around, the background shifts from a forest to a nodescript but charming little town with no other people in it besides the phantom crew]
Oh. Here. Well then, I suppose we could get something to eat...
[which is, of course, the signal for the pirates to make an awful lot of noise about booze and scatter in all directions looking for the tavern. Only the bear stays at Law's side]
no subject
[she arches an eyebrow slightly] I don't know. It looked like one place a minute ago and now it's something completely different.
I suppose we could. Where should we go?
[the bear can stay]
no subject
There's probably a nice place around here somewhere. [why yes, thank you dreamscape for popping up a cafe right there on the next corner.] See? This should do. I could use a cup of coffee.
no subject
Yes, that looks fine to me. I don't think I've ever had coffee before. What's it like?
no subject
It keeps me energized far more than tea. It's pretty strong, if you've never had it. Might want to add sugar or cream.
no subject
Yes, I think I'd prefer it that way. I have a weakness for sweets, you know.
no subject
Do you? Are you getting enough? We can always order a cinnamon bun. Er. You can. None for me.
[even in his happy dreams no bread none ever]

No, not at all.
Atem stares at the scene from not so far, he notes the change of scenario too, suddenly too aware of what is going on.
He shouldn't be watching this, but he cannot look away, seeing Law interacting with the other man, he doesn't need to ask to know he holds the taller man in very high esteem.
Is the Pharaoh a little envious? Hmm...
He shouldn't be here... Wake up, come on...
No? Okay, whatever.」
no subject
Of course it's Corazon, not Law, who spots a visitor first and gives him a sheepish sort of grin, entirely disarming and dorky. "Is this one of your crew?" he asks.]
Ah...no. You're in the caves of Hadriel, now, that's one of the other people trapped like us. [hastily scrubbing his sleeve over his eyes, you saw nothing] Atem-ya...
[how much did you seeeeee?]
no subject
Atem is but marveled at the grin, it's welcoming enough for him! He approaches to the other two, surely in a dream it doesn't seem too weird that he doesn't actually walk, he aimlessly floats towards them at ground level. Which means his neck is going to hurt later from staring up at this tall guy. Probably not, it's hard to forget they are dreaming.」
Yo.
「He greets them with a wave. So much for dressing like a Pharaoh and talking like a punk... And he saw everything man, everything!」
no subject
Law seems to still be under the dream influence, not really considering whether this is sleeping or waking, dream or reality.]
So. This is...my friend, Cora-sa...Corazon. [and then on an entirely unrelated topic] That getup looks familiar. Weird, though.
no subject
You've been this guy's friend for a long time?
「This guy... Mind you, he's talking to Corazon, not Law!」
no subject
Law, in turn, puts on a magnificent pout.]
Don't tell him that! Are you trying to embarrass me?
no subject
「He's not about to get offended about that, this is who he is. Oh, but look at that fabulous pout! Why doesn't he have a camera with him!? Atem just, smirks at that. Hopefully he'll remember this, because this Law is not as the one he had imagined and judged so harshly (when they met, actually).」
Are you a pirate too?
「Very important question there.」
no subject
Corazon's grin gets even more doofy. "I was." Which is entirely the truth and yet still a complete deflection. Law rolls his eyes.]
You don't have to guard your secrets here. No one cares. No one will take it to the Marines or anyone else.
[such is the power of his belief in the dream that he's willing to belief Corazon really is here in the cave with them, living a second life much like Atem is.]
This man saved my life when I was a child. He's important to me. I want him to enjoy whatever time he has here, even with the bullshit from the gods.
no subject
And then he listens to the little story and the little Pharaoh can't but stare at Law.
He's truly not what he expected (or wanted him to be). He had been unfair...
He had to fix it.
So Corazón is important... he looks up at the man (seriously, his neck is somehow going to hurt during this this dream).」
Did you know this guy saved my life when I got here?
「Let's embarrass you more, Law!」
no subject
"Is that so?" Corazón sounds entirely too proud, like he had anything to do with it. "That's good to hear. It means he didn't turn out like my brother after all."]
Cora-san...! Don't. Don't talk about that. I have a lot to tell you, but later, in private. [with a look at Atem like please don't encourage him. He goes to put a hand on Rosinante's arm as if to restrain him, but the touch just knocks him clean over, sending all nine feet of black-feathered idiocy face-planting onto the ground.]
...still?!
no subject
There, there is the reaction he was looking for. From Corazón at least ... Okay fine, from Law as well. The small Pharaoh simply smirks.
In private, huh? He knows when he's not wanted! But Atem, even if slightly, almost unnoticeable, drifts away, he watches the interaction. And it is a good thing he moved away!」
... eh?
「That must have hurt, dude. A stare of what the hell happened!? is quickly sent to Law.」
no subject
Law just shakes his head slowly in exasperation. Clearly, this isn't a new thing.]
Ignore him, he's a clumsy idiot.
[while the idiot in question rolls over and decides to light a cigarette. He's fine there on the ground, totally fine, no problem. At least now he's not towering over anybody, Law gets to be the tallest thing around.]
