Event Log: Dreamwalker the Second

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

► This log covers October 14th-20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you die in dreams you don't die in real life, but if you somehow die in real life anyway, please let us know here.

The summoner offers a smile filled with love... and a bit of melanchony. "Well, you don't have to be related by blood to consider someone your family, do you?" she comments with a wink, there's no one she can call family beside them and she considers herself blessed by their company "And who knows, maybe I'm just still waiting to turn into a giant myself."

"Well... there's Titan there, he is a skilled dancer and I bet he'd love to throw a lovely lady like you around. There's Ifrit by the fires, he's the one in charge of cooking, the girls up there are sylphs-" she points them one by one, the only creature who seems to give them cold shouders is a lady apparently made of ice "- and those are my parents, right now they look humans themselves because father is a bit too large to fit in here. I just... I'm happy to be here and have a friend to introduce them."

"And some blood-related 'family' really isn't. I get it, I do." All her Blight companions were truly family in the end, she'd do anything for them. Whereas her mother...well, she's just as happy ignoring her existence, as much s possible. "And I'm sure Titan's fun, but what if I wanted to dance with you, instead?" She winks, not really partial to being tossed around and pretty certain Rydia couldn't easily do so the way Titan could.

"'Right now' they look like humans? What other forms do they take?" She feasts a little more, because it smells and taste so good.

The summoner offers a friendly pat on the dwarf's shouder, hopefully her adoptive family is equally good. Oh, well...

"I'd love to dance with you, I'm just... not as good as others but it doesn't really matter, does it?" no, she can't throw the other in air, her noodle arms would probably break if she tried "Lead the dance, my lady, I will follow!" her feet tap a couple of times on the wooden floor and she spins around happily.

"Mh? Well... Father is a giant sea snake, he is quite long in his normal form and doesn't fit those small streets too well. Mother, on the other hand... she is just a three headed lady with many arms and legs, she's in that form only to stay with father. At least that's whay I think." The summoner hands her a cup of water, while the meat is tasty and rich eidolons lack a culture on tasty drinks "The throne room is the only large enough for father, someday I'm going to be allowed to fight him there. Oh! I know it, you may challenge them for fun!"

"What matters is having fun, not skill! But you've got all the right moves, to me." Aren flashes a grin, shaking her hips to the beat. She can't remember the last time she danced, but the lack of it won't stop her from moving as though she knows what she's doing.

She pauses long enough to sip that water, raising an eyebrow. "You fight each other for fun--oh. This is like a dwarven Proving? Kinda. They have those in Orzammar, where warriors compete for honor and glory and all that shit. I have a story to tell about that, sometime." Maybe. If she feels like sharing that much of herself, but right now, it feels better to deflect. "So, how does that work? What does challenging mean here?"

Rydia grins imitating the other woman's movements and shaking her hips in return

Rydia's eyes sparkle at Aren's reply- another culture that embraces fights as entertainment? "You fight as well? You- you have to tell me everything about Orzammar because that may be something we have in common! I want to learn about this Proving of yours and hear your story whenever you'll have time!" it won't probably have the same form and meaning of battles that take place in the Feymarch but she doesn't mind. And Rydia has been trapped in the Feymarch for so long any information of the world outside is welcome. "Mh, well... it really depends." Summoners challenging eidolons is certainly the deadliest of all things but she doesn't feel to share about it "most of the times it's just two creatures fighting together to break the boredom while the others can enjoy the show, some other times they do hold small tournaments of strenght since this is a culture that really values proving your worth. in case some have real advantages over others, like a water monster against a fire one, more rules can be applied to make challenges more fair. We're also family so no one is allowed to kill another member of the community."

"Yeah, that makes sense. I've seen rules where it's fighting until first blood, or until someone yields, that's also fine with me. The Provings aren't about killing, either, it's just until someone's unconscious." She only participated the one time, but that seemed to be how it worked, to her. "And then whoever wins gains more glory for their house and caste. Do you have that stuff, too?"

Dwarves are so good at separating themselves like that, so it seems even easier in a place where creatures are all so different from each other. And yet, as Aren looks around she doesn't see any notable divisions. Everyone's just having a good time with everyone else.

"Well... we do have houses..." Rydia gestures around her pointing at the various buildings "but I feel like this isn't quite what you meant. Still I suppose your provings do have points in common with our challenges? Those who win against the favorite usually get to brag about it for a while. Our system seems simpler, thought." Still, Aren's world sounds fascinating.

"So... uhm... what do you do when someone's glory increases? Do you celebrate it? I mean, no one dies in your provings as well, I can't see them being anything but fun- before and after!" Fortunately enough for Rydia the Feymarch is a friendly place compared to the dwarven city, the limited number of people living in it and the fact that most of them are immortal probably contribuited at making the whole community as united as it is "Please, do tell me more!"

"No, I mean noble houses. Like how House Aeducan rules Orzammar. But yeah, bragging rights are definitely a thing." Aren pauses to appreciate the beat, and size up some of the creatures she could potentially challenge. "Well...I assume they do? It'd make sense, but it's definitely not open and friendly like this. I've never been to a post-Proving celebration, so I can't say more than that." Nah, her Proving ended in a non-standard fashion. She has a feeling saying anything more would deflect from Rydia's dreamscape and that doesn't seem fair considering Aren's the intruder.

"What about you, don't you want to brag about this place some more? I'm all ears."
