What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.
This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.
Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.
To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...► This log covers October 14th-20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you die in dreams you don't die in real life, but if you somehow die in real life anyway, please let us know here.

[ There's a pause. The wind whips through her hair, even as Drogon descends gradually. ]
I have never met another dragon besides my own, let alone heard one speak.
no subject
The "speaking kind" is exceptionally rare. Where I come from, at least. [they were hunted by humans a long, long time ago, she knows that much.]
My name is Nah. It's nice to meet all of you, really! [she cranes her neck to look to Viserion and Rhaegal.] I've only known two others of my kind.
no subject
[ Drogon eventually lands on another grassy slope, and Dany slips from his back. She keeps close to him, resting a hand against his side, but peers curiously at Nah. ]
Would that my own dragons could speak. [ She says wonderingly. ] I can communicate well enough with them, but...
[ But, that would really be... something. ]
no subject
Oftentimes, a mutual understanding from a strong bond transcends any need for spoken words. [the wyverns couldn't talk, but there was one knight who always claimed she could "speak" to her wyvern mount because they were so close.] ... I would offer to translate, if you wanted to know what they're saying, but I don't think I can speak to them.
[now that they're on the ground it's easier for Nah to see that Drogon and his brothers have two legs and two wings, like wyverns.]
no subject
[ In the meantime, Drogon's brothers land nearby to investigate the newcomer. They seem to notice that Nah is one of their kind (in more ways than not), and chirrup with some interest as they walk around her. ]
no subject
Yeah, of course! I come from Ylisse. We... had some troubles up until recently, but that's all over now. [it was a miserable time. her whole life was miserable. but being here, with Daenerys and Drogon and Viserion and Rhaegal makes it all feel like it was so long ago.]
There were great big fields and hills like this at home, too. Whenever I felt too restless, I'd run through them and maybe set some bushes ablaze.
no subject
[ The other dragon seems more cheerful, though, and that eases her spirits a bit. ]
You're welcome to run through these hills and burn their bushes. [ She laughs lightly, gesturing to the scene around them. ] It isn't as if they belong to anyone.
[ They're beautiful, but if that sort of thing calms her new friend's spirit, then she has no issue with it. ]
no subject
so idyllic it's almost surreal, even. she can't even see any towns or roads from here.]
The dragons of your world... do you think they could come back in full numbers? I mean, if you have three of them here with you, then surely it must be possible.
no subject
[ Familiar, somehow, but without a name. ]
I don't know. [ Dany admits honestly, shaking her head. ] Mine were born because their eggs existed as treasures, and because magic gave them life. [ She laces her fingers over her lap. ] If there are to be others, I do not know where they would come from.
no subject
[easier said than done, though.] They could be hidden really well. Up in the highest mountains, or at the bottom of the ocean... places where no one else would think to look. I wouldn't know much about that, though, since I didn't hatch from one.
[she's just tossing out guesses for the sake of optimism.]
no subject
Speaking of hatching: ]
You... didn't? [ Perhaps it isn't so surprising, since this dragon can talk, but - ] Then, how were you born?
no subject
[right, that probably needs some clarification. without any sort of pause, she's engulfed in a sudden flash of light, and a small girl stands where the dragon just was.
somewhat awkwardly, she rubs the back of her neck.]
Manakete normally stay in a human form. Er, sorry, I should have mentioned that earlier.
no subject
"Manakete" is what you call yourself? [ She studies the girl, eyes still wide. ] I have never seen anyone able to transform into a dragon.
[ It's... incredible, really. ]
no subject
she sits back down, cross-legged.]
I can't stay as a dragon all the time. It'd tire me out. [and she'd go insane. whoops.] So, when I'm not like that, I'm like this. Being able to fly and breathe fire is great, sure, but a human form has its merits too.
[like... being able to fit through doorways, for one.]
no subject
[ Well, it'd be unprecedented, among other things. ]
I assume that you have to be... born with that ability?
no subject
[she does have pride in her heritage, but the people she grew up with only ever expressed distaste and hatred because she wasn't fully human. no one was ever jealous.]
Anyway, yeah, only those with Manakete blood in their veins have this ability. It can be both a blessing and a curse.
no subject
[ It's an enviable ability, she thinks. And in this dream, influenced by Delight, she can only see upsides. ]
no subject
Do you think your dragons ever wish they could take on human forms?
no subject
[ Having only been the former, she can't imagine choosing this form over that of a fire-breathing, beautiful creature. ]
