Event Log: Dreamwalker the Second

What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

[George gives Brennan her best "innocent little me?" expression]

...all right. Not like I can even get buzzed, anyway.

[George notices and smiles almost shyly]

I'm--not sure? I was never much into the whole nightclub scene. Only went to 'em when I had a reap there. But I never tried the whole dancing thing.

[It's in the spirit of the law. Even in dreams, Brennan will do her best to follow them.]

I'm only here because Angela told me about this. Without her, I'd be in the lab all the time -- which I also really like. This is fun to do now and then. Besides, she's always so happy when we do this. I think she does it as much for her as she does it for me..

[And Brennan doesn't mind at all.]

[while George often looks at laws as helpful guidelines for people who aren't her]

Like as a little treat for yourselves, so you don't get overworked? Makes sense. And hey, there's nothing wrong with helping your friend have a little fun and having some for yourself in the process.

[Not quite like that, but Brennan shrugs and nods anyway.]

I don't always understand Angie, but I'm starting to learn I don't have to.

Hey, I don't always understand Jo, but we're friends anyway. Friends are like that, y'know?

[friendship is weird. human interaction in general is weird]

[Brennan doesn't know who Jo is, but she understands what George means.]

Exactly.

[She laughs very quietly. Somehow, the music all around them has quieted down enough that it's audible. The dream is starting to fade.]

I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts. We all should. You know as well as I do that tomorrow is never guaranteed.

[George also notices the music quieting and the dream fading and looks around herself]

Yeah, tomorrow it's probably going to be great big monsters with really big teeth. And bad breath. Definitely bad breath.

[She was being philosophical, but she supposes that's also true.]

Just our luck.

[She laughs, and Angela comes to get her, taking her by the arm to tug her off to the dance floor. With a friendly wave at George, Brennan follows Angela, and the dream ends.]

[George also laughs and waves goodbye to Brennan and

George sits up in bed]

That wasn't bad. Cool.

[George settles back down in bed and is back to sleep in minutes]
