What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.
This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.
Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.
To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...► This log covers October 14th-20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you die in dreams you don't die in real life, but if you somehow die in real life anyway, please let us know here.

Henry doesn't recognise this woman, but it's easy to see she is of noble blood through her manners and bearing. For that reason, he amends his initial tone.]
The mistake is mine, then, my lady. It seems that I must pay closer attention in my waking hours.
[Though it's not quite an apology. His smile and bold confidence remains.]
Nonetheless, I assure you this feast shall appease even the finest tastes.
no subject
she smiles brightly at Henry. it's clear to her that he's of nobility of some world and she should act accordingly]
No need to apologize, good ser. I don't believe we've met until now. My name is Margaery Tyrell, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. May I ask your name in return?
[and her charm remains]
It's all been wonderful so far. Far closer to the meals I had at home than anything else I've had recently.
no subject
Sir Henry Percy. I am a knight of England.
[He gives her a partial bow, as much as being seated affords, holding her gaze with his own. He doesn't always employ them, but he's perfectly capable of high manners. Margaery does not need to know that he much prefers battlefields to court.]
You grace an Earl's table, your majesty. [He pauses, then adds wryly:] Or more precisely, my longing for one. If it should seem... excessive, it is but a reflection of considerable time I have been trapped in Hadriel, separated from such pleasures.
[He's not actually a glutton, despite dreaming about an endless feast.]
no subject
It's my pleasure to meet you, Sir. I've heard of England. It's on Earth, is it not?
[she inclines her head gracefully and smiles. and at least he's not from Westeros, where politics follow you everywhere, even the battlefield]
I'm honored and grateful to be here. [Margaery laughs at his statement of longing for such a table] I completely understand. I've only been here for one month and I long for the dinners I had in King's Landing. How long have you been here, if I may ask?
[she appreciates his yearning for the feast]
no subject
[Her laughter keeps his mood good, and so he only momentarily grimaces in vexation before he answers.]
Hitherto a year and ten months. [Too long, he thinks, to put his life on hold.] Be there aught you would know of our wretched cavern?
no subject
[Marg is a charmer, there's no denying that]
A year and ten months? That's a terribly long time to be away from home. And I suppose I would know that if you "phone" one of the gods, they'll answer back? I've heard it told both ways, that they will and that they won't.
no subject
[Henry nods, then takes another bite of food which he finishes before he speaks again. The homesickness never truly abates, though that is not something to say at a feast.]
They will.
no subject
[Margaery helps herself to some food and a sip of wine]
I suppose I must make contact with Delight. I'm helping with the sewing shop and I'm in need of fabrics.
no subject
[He looks interested.]
As I understand it, Delight's bargain is fair. And she has treated us better than most of her kind.
no subject
[she notices his interest]
That's what I've heard. Are you in need of something in particular?
no subject
[He has scavenged more since, of course, but it's difficult to find anything of decent quality at any once time. Even those cannot compare to the dress of even the lowest noble ranks. Henry touches the finery he wears in this dream, half-smiling.]
I would not mind a set of clothes as I might have worn whence I came. Nor shall a second jupon be amiss; I own one, should the pattern of such a garment be unknown to you.
[But he'd quite like to have one bearing his arms.]
no subject
[Marg completely understands. Her initial opening of sewing shop was because she needed suitable clothing for herself. she's since moved on to sewing garments for other people]
I think that can be arranged. And I do know what a jupon is. I've sewn a few for my brother before. He was a knight of Westeros and had need of them.
no subject
[He lost priceless things too, but they cannot be replaced.]
Marvellous.
[If she is used to sewing for knights, then in the future he might ask about a few more pieces — a second arming coat and new hosen would be pleasant. But there is no rush. More importantly, she is talking of family, something he holds dear. Henry smiles fully now.]
Is he your only brother? I have three myself, and a sister. I miss them greatly.
no subject
[Marg's only priceless item is her crown, but she doesn't wear it on a daily basis
she'd be capable of providing all of those items. she's at the shop more often than not. but family is very important to Margaery, too, and she smiles back genuinely, but sadly, too]
My baby brother. He was to be the heir to Highgarden, but then we. Well, we both were murdered.
Three brothers and a sister? That sounds wonderful. You must tell me about them.
no subject
[He still has his arms and armour, but the loss of his hope mirror and Iamarl's shobo — the last piece he had of her — was a hard blow.
Not that Henry lingers on the thought.]
Murdered...?!
[He echoes in shock, his brown eyes widening. He reflexively crosses himself.]
God rest his soul. May you be avenged.
[He takes a long drink of wine. What else can one say? It's almost awkward to speak of his own siblings after such a revelation.]
Ah... They are all younger than me. Of them, Thomas was the eldest. Then Ralph. After him, Alan. Finally, our sister, Margaret. There is but eight years between us.
[It's not hard to pick them out of the other figures dining at the top table — all of the Percies share a close resemblance to Henry, including his father and uncle. Only their step-mother bears none. Being but a dream, Thomas is still with them, though in reality he died many years ago.]
no subject
Yes. Along with at least a hundred other people. All because my mother-in-law saw me as a threat to her power.
[she bows her head in gratitude at his words.
and, good, a distraction from her own troubles]
It sounds like you must have a very closely knit family. Family can be such a wonderful source of support and aid.
[yes, Margaery is able to pick them out from the others and gives them all a little wave and a smile. and Henry has a dead sibling, too? sounds like something to bond over]
no subject
Henry smiles at what Margaery says next, and at her offered waves.]
I do. One's family should be one's greatest ally.
no subject
she smiles back at him]
Oh, I agree. House Tyrell was always united in our goal to see me crowned queen of the Seven Kingdoms. But, tell me more about your family?
no subject
[Henry lifts his chin, proud as he speaks.]
'Twas my father who expanded our lands and power to raise us from Barons to Earls. He is ambitious and concerns himself with government. For over a decade I have commanded our martial duties. I am a knight of great renown; Hotspur they name me. My uncle has fame as both a soldier and an ambassador.
[His expression softens, and he continues:]
It saddens me to say, but my brother Thomas died some eight years afore. Ralph is an excellent knight himself, yet I fear my repute overshadows his. Alan and Margaret have yet to establish themselves. They are young, however. In time they shall.
no subject
A knight of great renown! How extraordinary! And I take it that you were no mere tourney knight, but you actually fought in battles..
[Margaery looks concerned at his change in demeanor]
I'm so sorry. It's terrible to lose a sibling. You have my sympathies. But, the rest of your family sounds impressive.
no subject
I fought my first battle at fourteen years of age. I like tourneys well, but a knight is meant for war. Those supposed knights whom leave not the safety and luxury of court are naught but strutting peacocks who shame their oaths.
[He says the latter with clear disdain.]
Certes, as a queen you must have dealt with their kind. Some never learn that favour is won by deeds.
no subject
My younger brother, Loras, was that age when he was knighted. The Knight of Flowers they called him as the symbol of House Tyrell is a golden rose. And I'm sure that many young knights did their parts in the War of the Five Kings. Where was your first battle and who was it against?
[Margaery nods]
My first husband, King Renly, was fond of tourneys and tourney knights. He had the largest army in the War of the Five Kings, but he never used it. If he had, perhaps he would have won the war.
no subject
I was knighted at thirteen.
[His mouth curves into a nostalgic smile, pride still there in the brightness of his eyes. He is someone who lives to be a knight with all the ideals it entails, despite his flaws.]
The Scots found a way into the castle at Berwick-upon-Tweed and slaughtered its English garrison. My father took myself and two hundred men to reclaim it by siege. Yet once we reached it, he made the decision that we needed not waste the time nor the resources and we stormed the gates. In two hours we had won the castle back through battle.
[At mention of her first husband, he cocks his head.]
...You have wed more than once? And what say you? War of the five kings? Not seven?
no subject
Thirteen? My goodness, you must have been some kind of prodigy!
[most of the knights of Westeros are no true knights. she'd be glad to know that those of other worlds are]
Only two hundred men? Your father must have been an extraordinary leader, to take a place with so few men.
I've been wed three times. Once to King Renly, once to King Joffrey [which is said with no small amount of derision], and once to King Tommen. When I died, I was still wed to Tommen. But marriage vows end when a person dies.
And yes, five kings. Joffrey Baratheon, Stannis Baratheon, Renly Baratheon, Robb Stark, and Balon Greyjoy. The war started because there were--questions about the legitimacy of Joffrey. They say he wasn't fathered by the former king, Robert Baratheon, but by the queen's twin brother, Jaime Lannister. Before we knew it, all of Westeros was at war against one another.
no subject
...Hm. I believe I once heard of that treasonous incest, from a girl with short, dark hair and grey eyes. She departed Hadriel long ago.
[One corner of his mouth quirks.]
So many Baratheons to your name. And yet no wonder you saw civil war with such vile sin defiling the throne. Despite the miserable circumstances, it must be a relief to be free of it.
