Event Log: Dreamwalker the Second

What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

Fingon glances at the dream-Maedhros standing nearby, and a small, sad smile passes over his face. "He blamed himself. I wish I'd thought of a way to spare him that. You as well."

Fingon watches them depart, then reaches out to squeeze Maglor's hand.

"It did, didn't it? You raised them well."

Maedhros watches the twins, gentleness in his eyes, for a moment more Maitimo, the long suffering eldest of a pack of younglings who all learnt early that he was easier to access than royal parents with duties or craftsmen and women forever busy.

"The twins were good for him. But we were not good for them. We had to send them away."

Elros becomes a king, noble and lordly, stepping out eager into light and away, while Elrond remains, steadfast and true.

"We did our best by them."

"I know you did." Whatever Fingon's bewilderment at the twists of fate that had brought his cousins and great-nephews together, he has faith that they would have tried their best.

And he thinks of the flesh-and-blood twin he knows, the kind and gentle healer who loves Maglor still. "More importantly, as does he."

Maglor smiles shyly at him.

"I don't know why. We left him too, in the end. But Elrond doesn't seem to mind." He says wonderingly.

"No, he doesn't," Fingon agrees.

"But love is too precious to cast aside, no matter how it comes about. And you love him, no one who sees you two would doubt that."

[bythewaves]

Maglor flushes shyly but he agrees.

"I do. He and Elros... they were such a joy. I never thought to have this."

"Well, that's something," Fingon grins, and embraces his cousin.

"I'm glad that you were happy with them. And that they were happy with you."

[bythewaves]

Maglor starts in surprise and then returns the embrace.

"I am too, although I suppose I feel slightly guilty about it all the same."
