Event Log: Dreamwalker the Second

What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

Yeah, it doesn't see you as a threat, either. And you're not a murderer, so you're off the hook, I guess.

[Law stiffens where he stands, going instantly on guard, though he keeps a blandly cautious expression on his face with great difficulty.]

Is that so? Then. You know what it wants.

[absolutely not saying a damn word about his long litany of piracy-related deaths, nope.]

[Michael tries not to read anything into Law's sudden posture change. He can't think about it too much.]

It wants justice or some bullshit like that. It wants to eat people, but only people it thinks deserve it. Which might mean something, except it's standards are kind of subjective.

[He's not bitter you're bitter.]

Justice. [snort. A useful distraction!] In my experience, most justice is subjective and arbitrary.

Friend of yours, then?

[This is when it occurs to him that he should maybe be keeping some of this to himself. Whoopsie.]

More like... I don't know. Recurring nightmare? I know its rules, but I don't know how. [Hey, that part's not even a lie.] Maybe I made it up?

[That part's also not a lie but Michael has no idea, making it very, very meta.]

Ah. In that case, it's all yours. I have enough of my own to deal with.

[this definitely fits the characteristics of a dream conversation. Does it make sense? Only in the moment. It's all good. And seeing that Michael isn't in danger necessarily, Law is content. It is odd, watching this shadow pace and garble and threaten a seemingly innocuous, er, person, but it's following its own rules and thus, Not His Problem.]

[Michael actually... kind of appreciates that. He prefers to deal with his own shit, and to let other people do the same. People who want a part of everyone's private business just exhaust him.]
