What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

[He doesn't pour her a glass himself, of course, but rather gestures a servant over. In moments, they both have elegant flutes of champagne.]

That sounds awful. I wish that we could help - famine is not something Arnes has needed to protect itself against. I can only imagine the suffering of the people.

[But this is a Delight dream, so...]

There's little you can do about it now. You may as well enjoy yourself.

[she raises hers in a toast to him, then drinks]

Oooh! It is fizzy. I wonder how they make it?

It will not be an easy winter when it does come. I hope it's not for a long time, give Westeros some chance of recovery.

[exactly! time for a less depressing subject]

That's true. And I shall. Do you dance?

I'm sure we could find out if we wanted to, but that would ruin the fun.

[He grins, and sips his champagne.]

Of course I dance. And quite well, or so I'm told. Would you like to?

I suppose it would? Best to leave it a mystery.

[she sips hers as well, giggling a little at the fizz]

I would love to.

[He sets his champagne flute aside and holds out a hand.]

Then it would be my honor to accompany you, my lady. Shall we?

[she sets hers aside as well, but not before taking one last sip]

We shall. It's been far too long since I danced.

[He accompanies her to the dance floor, where there are a number of people dancing already. The music is light and uplifting, and Rhy is just as good a dancer as someone who's had the most expensive lessons can be.]

Do they have parties like this in Westeros?

[and while Margaery hasn't learned this style of dancing, she's a quick study, feeling the music and his steps leading her along]

We used to. Then, the Sparrows took control of the Faith and the Crown and such things were dismissed as frivolity.

I don't know exactly what that means, but it sounds rather dire.

[If he's understanding correctly, a very conservative group took over.]

Rest assured that will never happen here.

It was terrible, but that's a topic for another day. Today is for fun.

That's good. Your home country seems lovely.

It is. The best - though of course I'm biased.

[He smiles. They are - for the moment - in that country, and Rhy feels at home in a way he never has in Hadriel.]

Oh, things aren't perfect, but my father is a fine King, and my mother is widely loved.

Of course. As many troubles as Westeros has had, it was still home.

[Marg also feels more at home in this sort of environment. all of the technology at Hadriel confuses her]

Few things are perfect, but it sounds like you have a fine ruling family.

I like to think so. We've managed well so far, at least. We are not universally beloved, but the common folk like us enough.

[The threats, when they come, are from outside the kingdom.]

You can forget your troubles for now. They won't follow you here.

It's important to have the love of the common folk. If you treat them well, they will be your greatest ally.

[Westeros had no need for outside invasions, it had problems enough on its own]

I am glad to hear it. If only it were so elsewhere.

We cannot all be lucky all the time. Right now, though - well, it is my birthday. I would like it to be lucky.

[He laughs.]

Do your people celebrate such things?

As would I. Everyone's day of birth should be both happy and lucky.

[she smiles warmly]

Somewhat. We celebrate our Name Day more than we do the date of our birth. A Name Day usually comes a week after one is born, when it seems sure that the child will be well.

A clever way to do things. But it makes me think your home must be a difficult one to survive in.

[Rhy's kingdom isn't perfect, but infant death isn't such a fact of life.]

Still, a celebration is a celebration, regardless of the reason.

It is. And it only gets worse once you're a man or woman grown.

[Westeros is backwards in a lot of ways]

I always loved my Name Days. When I was at Highgarden, we'd have feasts with singers and jugglers and a course for each year of my age.

Now that sounds delightful. We normally have parties - I certainly get nicer ones than the common folk, but this is special.

[He gestures around them, at the truly extravagant party.]

I am coming of age, after all.

It was. I miss Highgarden very much. And it certainly seems special. The champagne alone makes it exciting.

[she looks around them. it truly is an exceptional party]

You are? Well, may I offer you my congratulations?

Why, thank you. It feels odd to be congratulated merely for surviving a certain number of years.

[He laughs.]

But I'll take it.

What better reason to celebrate? Life has so many possibilities, after all. So you should celebrate them all.

[her death has made her painfully aware of the possibilities she didn't explore]

Good advice indeed. I certainly plan to.

[He steps back, bows to her.]
