What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

All I'm saying here is I could have decimated that kid and chose not to, because for some reason you entertain me and I don't enjoy dealing with the fallout if you're sad. Also, like, it's a kid, so. Whatever.

[He folds his arms, looking to where Barry is currently getting climbed like a tree.]

Kinda surprised you didn't lose your eye earlier with that around, though.

[ It's not Merle's job to remember wizard stuff. He can't even remember his own stuff. I mean.......... he totally knew that.

Merle reaches out to pat Taako on like, the knee. Wherever he can reach. ]

I care about you too, buddy. And Mookie's great when you get used to handling him! Took me a couple visits to get my shit together. An- you know, I think you guys are all doin' great so far!

[ But god if he didn't love him regardless. Great child good personality best boy. ]

[Shut up what's caring sounds fake.]

Listen. I don't handle kids. Kids are like... tiny, stupider people. And I have enough trouble with the gaggle of idiots in my life. Let him eat Barry.

[At least that's enjoyable. If Taako was a better person, he might congratulate Merle on finding happiness, or something that's his. But he's not. He's an emotionally constipated schmuck.]

How... old is he, anyway? Did we get to this plane and you immediately started boning down? Gods, don't answer that, nevermind, I sent myself straight to fucking hell.

[ Merle still loves him too late and anyway he deadass laughs at Taako. That thought existed in the real world. It can't be un-thought. Merle has game, so P E R I S H. ]

He's, uhh. [ Okay. Listen. Nobody's perfect. ] He's not ten yet, that's for sure. I dunno. Did the beach dwarf thing, got married, had a kid, got divorced.

[ Merle blows a raspberry. Just a short one. That was a dumb time and he was shitty at it and he's not thinking about it, the end. ]

[No worries, he's absolutely already dead!]

Great. Okay. So we get fuckin' mindwiped and you just start banging. Not even close to something I wanted to know about you.

[Ugh, he's actually starting to feel bad for shitting on him now. Bluh.]

So uh, what's up with the girl? You just steal her?

[ RIP IN FUCKIN PIECES KIDDO. Merle doesn't give too many craps about getting dunked on right now, at least. Some things are human... elven... sentient nature. Filter in a little dunking once in a while. ]

Mavis is my stepdaughter! [ Ok you bet your ass he sounds proud as heck, though. ] Y'know, daughter, stepdaughter, it's all basically the same thing, anyway. You might get along a little smoother with her, now that I think about it!

[ Leg-gnawing is part of Mookie's charm and everyone here knows it.

There's a lot of reasons for anything!

[ It's kind of weird to have this talk now that he remembers, like. The fact that Taako and Magnus are family in a big way and trustworthy above basically anyone else in the universe. Trying to play it off by going "well I mean you guys are assholes" and having a laugh isn't... really fair. Or nice. Or true.

They are assholes and all, but the good kind. ]

Y'know, just kinda... complicated stuff. I didn't wind up with a real good track record.

[As much as Taako would like to fault him for something like this, he really can't when it comes down to it. Taako wouldn't have trusted either Magnus or Merle with potentially serious info at the Bureau, and it's not like it's ever come out in Hadriel. Merle has always been that guy who didn't need to know every tiny detail to know someone cared about him.

On the other hand, all Taako ever does is sling endless shit, so.]

[This is still so weird to think about. Jeez.]

A responsible disaster. [ no ] Honestly? I wasn't thinkin' that far ahead. I mean, you bring your kids up on the moon, ya gotta explain a buncha stuff, deal with everyone wanting to meet 'em, askin' about 'em...

[ He starts to laugh. ]

The look on her face woulda been great, though!

Yeah, c'mon, why didn't you think about the con possibilities on this one? She's worried about dogs running off the edge, seriously, ol' spitfire there'll give her the sprint of a lifetime.

[Out of all of them, though, to him it's almost surprising it's Merle. He'd have expected it to be Magnus with a wife and kids. But... well, maybe he just didn't get the chance.

Out of the three of them, most handed this world by Lucretia to live in, Merle's the only one who got to make it a home.]
