This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.
Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.
To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...► This log covers October 14th-20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you die in dreams you don't die in real life, but if you somehow die in real life anyway, please let us know here.

At last he's able to look away, returning his attention to Michael.]
You poor thing, living with this nightmare again and again.
[How awful that must be. Not having restful sleep or dreams of more pleasant things. Delmar pats at Michael's arm again]
You've tried your very best. There's nothing else you could do.
[He wants to make sure Michael doesn't beat himself up over the actions of some nightmare creature in his mind]

When Delmar turns back, his words hit Michael like a punch in the gut. He starts shaking his head before the other man's even finished speaking.]
No. Don't do that, don't feel sorry for me. [He backs away a little.] There's a lot I could've done, I just didn't. I was being selfish. It's my fault.

[His frown deepens and he's uncertain what to do when Michael backs away from him. Did he say something wrong?]
You shouldn't blame yourself for such a thing. What could you have possibly done?
[He doesn't like this at all, his friend saying these horrible things about himself.]
no subject
There's that impulse again, to tell Delmar all of this, but he doesn't. He takes the easy way. Like he always fucking does.]
I- You're right. Forget it. It's just a stupid dream, anyway.
[He rubs at his eyes under his glasses, trying to put himself back together.]
no subject
If it weren't for you that horrible beast would have certainly sent me to meet my maker. You were very brave.
[He tries for a small smile, trying to get a peek at Michael's face]
That's the second time you've saved me. How lucky I am to have such a good friend.
no subject
But if he says those things, he knows it'll hurt Delmar more than it hurts himself. Delmar will never believe him, anyway, even if it'd be better for him in the long run. So he guesses he'll keep being selfish.]
I wasn't about to let something eat you. And... thanks.
[That last part is very, very quiet.]
no subject
Now let's get you out of here, hm?
[Surely Michael's mind must have some spaces devoid of human-devouring beasts. Delmar gently tries to urge him away from the room where they are currently standing]
It's no good for you to stay here.
no subject
Yeah, you're probably right. No good for either of us.
[Technically there is no space in his mind devoid of the Visitor, they're too closely intermingled. But the least he can do is take Delmar's lead and get out of that room.]
