Event Log: Dreamwalker the Second

What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

( Isn't being in a dream grand? But Marc's made his move before Kate manages to, ducking in and aiming a fist to her side. She ducks, lightning-quick, and responds with a knife aimed at his calf, unsurprised when he jumps out of the way, back towards Jo. )

[Jo has just jumped over into the arena and when Marc comes closer, she runs towards him, elbow out in preparation to poke him in the back.]

( Think fast, Jo, because while Marc isn't as quick as Kate - never has been, but we digress - he's still light enough on his feet to try and spin around to the back of her and pin her arms to her sides. Kate, for her part, doesn't let up, moving forwards with a jump that launches her behind both of them and gets Marc to turn his head her way, distracted from the other half of the team for a moment. )

I don't think so, Kat.

( He knows better than to let someone with her power sneak up on him. But he does seem to leave himself blind to Jo... )

[knifecollecting]

[Jo smiles broadly, despite her arms being pinned to her sides.

She goes limp, dragging Marc down a little before she stands again, driving him back and hopefully forcing him to let go.]

[dedikated]

( That does the trick, Marc's grip loosens enough that Jo can slip out and he lets out a laugh at the technique, trying to knock Jo off balance with a foot aimed directly at her shin, a flare of telekinetic power hovering a knife threateningly close to Kate, enough to make her kick it out of the way. It goes careening across the colosseum but is quickly snatched back up by psychic power and flung back towards Kate. )

Ghost duel?

( Really, Marc? God. )

Get out of it then.

( But, mostly, he wants to be able to concentrate on physically fighting one person at a time and no more. )

[knifecollecting]

[Jo just laughs as she jumps back from the kick just in time.]

Scared already?

[dedikated]

( Marc laughs. He's not as fast as Kate - who is, she'd easily remind him - but he's strong. His movements cut through the air with weight as he doesn't change tactics, keeping Kate busy with the "ghost" while he focuses on Jo, not bothering to answer the question at all.

Oh, BTW, Jo? There's another knife, dancing right at the back of your neck. God only knows when he pulled that off. )

... Strategy.

( It's at that time when Kate breaks free, the split second of gloating dropping Marc's attention to the knife holding her off and allowing her to dive behind, touching the back of his neck.

Both knives clatter to the floor. )

You're it.

[knifecollecting]

[When the knife fall Jo relaxes just a little bit.]

We're done, right?

[dedikated]

( Kate's hand hovers just shy of Marc's skin until he eventually says- )

Aye.

( And then she taps the back of his neck, letting his powers flow freely again. Around them, the Colosseum seems to wobble, as if distorting, drifting from their visions.

But it feels alright. Like anywhere they'll go will be better.

It's a nice feeling to wake up to. Like anything's possible. )
