Event Log: Dreamwalker the Second

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

► This log covers October 14th-20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you die in dreams you don't die in real life, but if you somehow die in real life anyway, please let us know here.

[Here, trapped within the shifting reality of a dream, Lup's flaming form is solid beneath Atem's hand, her fire dancing painlessly over his flesh. She's real, though the fire isn't completely. The flames burning in her palm give off heat, but the rest of her body is all illusion, magic giving her form more substance than before.

And for reasons that Lup wouldn't be able to explain, she doesn't recoil or explode in anger to burn the boy foolish enough to approach her, she just shudders, turning her gaze skyward, towards the inky, curtained dome above.]

Out there! [Her hand flails out, gesturing wildly around the tight confines of this chamber.] He's out there and I can't get to him. Free me. Let me go!

Atem braces himself for the worst pain he might ever feel—and it never happens. To which he's thankful about, but it only creates more and more questions.

Atem pulls away and follows her gaze.

I will.

He doesn't know how, but he must, he can bear to see her suffering like that anymore. A mere glance to the dragon behind him, and Osiris flies to the dome and slams himself against it with a tremendous force, time and time again.

[There's something there. This Lup, wild in her rage and starved for companionship, drops her hands to her side and watches as Osiris slams against the top of the dome, with enough strength to shake the whole chamber. She may not remember Atem in this moment, but the confidence and promise of his voice fills her with a sense of tranquility that she hasn't felt in well over a decade. Her gaze drops to the boy, staring in him in surprise.

But then there's the resounding sound of a body thudding to the ground from outside of the curtained room, and Lup's attention snaps to the ceiling, teeth bared as the fire in her palms dances higher. The dragon above them fights for freedom and the lich suddenly flies upwards to join in the fight, blasting the dome with a powerful, unending wave of flame, tearing through curtains, trying to burn up every last ounce of her strength in an attempt to be freed from this prison.

And it's hard to tell with the blinding brightness of her flame, but perhaps there's a flash of light, a glimpse of freedom there above them, but the dream ends before either can be sure.]
