Event Log: Dreamwalker the Second

What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

Airships? Those sound awesome. But I'm sorry they lead to that, because raising dragons sounds awesome, too.

[Aren darts a sympathetic look, thinking that tameable -or at least non-hostile dragons living alongside people would be a majestic sight. But it's not to be in Thedas.]

How old were you when that happened?

I hope to restore our dragon-riding traditions soon enough, if I'm ever worthy of returning. But... yes... you could say that flying of any sort is incredible, no matter how it's done.

[He sighs, closing his eyes and bowing his head.]

Eleven years old. Old enough... to have known him, old enough that it was terribly devastating. But also young enough that I couldn't fend for myself. The king raised me as his own from that point onward, but... I always was my true father's son. That could never change.

Still...being raised by a king? You had it made.

[What Aren wouldn't have given for her and Rica to be raised in better surroundings, which would have been practically anywhere else than what they had. Yeah, she's a little envious.]

Not that I'm saying it wasn't terrible, but you had the best support you could possibly get, right?

Right... I shouldn't be ungrateful for that, and I'm not. I was fortunate that he was willing to take me in like a second son.

[A second, less praised son, but still, he did have all of the privileges that came with such a position. He wishes he'd appreciated certain aspects of it more, but he'd gotten carried away by his own jealousy.]

He favored Cecil over me... but he was a good king, regardless. It was as good a life as I could have had, for the most part. I wish... some things had been different. That my father had lived, for one thing...
