It was bound to happen. The Null warned you, after all, and this has been building for awhile - and now it's here. First comes the initial attack, the agents of the Null attacking Hope's temple. Then, an SOS, warning the city of what's happened: a betrayal, and Hope being injured. Luckily for everyone, thanks to the actions of his guards Hope survives the attack. Unluckily, his attacker, the goddess Delight, escapes and lets the Null in.
Flooding into the cave, the Null will attack anyone who they believe is resisting them. They'll destroy buildings and deploy dangerous crowd control weapons, in addition to their sheer strength and speed. Confusion empties the monsters in the tunnels into the city, to help distract the Null. Some gods fight, others provide safe havens, but everyone is in danger.
After about a week and a half of the attack, Fear summons enough power to teleport the city. This stops any new Null from arriving through the tunnels, but the remaining Null must be hunted down and destroyed, or else they'll signal their location to the rest of their species. The danger will lessen as Null are taken out, but things won't really be safe until Fear moves the city again, so don't get too comfortable.
What will you do? Run and hide? Fight? Help the fighters? Turn on the gods yourself? Whatever you do, it's time to make a decision.► This log covers November 25th-December 12th.

[Aren flashes a grin, vaguely wondering how they didn't get to that story already, but eh. It's nothing that can't be fixed. Barkspawn draws himself up a bit and gets her attention with a huff.]
Yeah, yeah, you helped with that. I wasn't going to leave that part out, promise.

[She's confident they'll survive, but there are still enough enemies that she's got no delusions about this being easy. Expending magical energy and physical effort take their toll eventually.]
A few good battle stories may be just what we need to keep our minds off of the post-battle aches and pains.

[Aren nods, already a bit weary even though she's loathe to verbally admit it. These aren't the enemies she was trained to fight.]
Post-battle meetup at the hot springs? I'll bring some good drinks, too, if we still have any.

[Because it is. And Delight's for being a traitor. Ikaruga isn't holding as much of a grudge against Delight as she could have - she did just spend several months playing double agent to protect Hope, after all, but she's still grumpy enough that Delight's presence was enough to coax Hope out of his temple.]

That's music to my ears! I'm ready and willing to take them on, especially as a team.

[It's important to keep their spirits up under circumstances this dire, after all, and counting will help them to keep some presence of mind during all the fighting.]

If you're relying on my songwriting or poem skills, you're going to be disappointed. I've never done any of that, but I'm sure they're utter shit. If only Leliana was here; she's a bard, she'd make a good song of it.

[She's not going to judge someone who's admitted to being inexperienced, but she's all in favour of having a wager that's more balanced and fun.]

[She's learned how to make meals out of nearly half of the cave monsters. Some of the others were best left uneaten unless absolutely desperate, but some of them made for decent enough meat when cooked properly.]
We have our wager, then.
[And tranquil as she may look, she cleaves through an incoming Null swiftly and brutally.]
