It was bound to happen. The Null warned you, after all, and this has been building for awhile - and now it's here. First comes the initial attack, the agents of the Null attacking Hope's temple. Then, an SOS, warning the city of what's happened: a betrayal, and Hope being injured. Luckily for everyone, thanks to the actions of his guards Hope survives the attack. Unluckily, his attacker, the goddess Delight, escapes and lets the Null in.
Flooding into the cave, the Null will attack anyone who they believe is resisting them. They'll destroy buildings and deploy dangerous crowd control weapons, in addition to their sheer strength and speed. Confusion empties the monsters in the tunnels into the city, to help distract the Null. Some gods fight, others provide safe havens, but everyone is in danger.
After about a week and a half of the attack, Fear summons enough power to teleport the city. This stops any new Null from arriving through the tunnels, but the remaining Null must be hunted down and destroyed, or else they'll signal their location to the rest of their species. The danger will lessen as Null are taken out, but things won't really be safe until Fear moves the city again, so don't get too comfortable.
What will you do? Run and hide? Fight? Help the fighters? Turn on the gods yourself? Whatever you do, it's time to make a decision.► This log covers November 25th-December 12th.

Dec 7th-10th; Wrecked Shop (CLOSEDish to close CR)
For two days, Rey sleeps as her body works to heal what Carlisle could not. She is synthetic as well -- or parts of her are, and there's only so much his magic can do. While the immediate danger has passed, saying that Rey had run herself ragged combating the Null would be an understatement. It almost fucking killed her.
Somehow, she's still alive. Dragged into a makeshift bedroll on the floor of the shop she almost died in. There aren't that many in the city who could carry a woman weighing more than three-hundred twenty pounds across the river, so it was likely more prudent to leave her without unsettling the shattered bones in her body.
Plus, no one in their right mind would carry Rey to Love's hotsprings for healing.
A fractured arm, busted kneecap, and a few cracked ribs prevent her from moving for those days that she laid there. What would have taken several months' worth of recovery takes hours for her to mend. It helps that her bones aren't like-human, or any mammal one would have ever studied. They aren't even your typical metal, belonging to any machine. Fervidium alloy is practically its own element.
Eventually, she stirs from screaming nightmares; throws herself upright, gasping from the sharp pain shooting through her chest. Bandages hold her ribs together, as well as an arm-sling and knee brace. She doesn't remember dressing herself like this, so someone else must have, and she can hazard a guess as to who.
In fact, at this moment she isn't dressed at all. With the inky samandrine clean from her body, all that's left is skin and bandage. Rey, while no prude (and especially not one in the presence of Maketh), is quick to cover herself with the blanket she was sleeping with.
Some time later, after she does dress in proper clothing, she takes the time to care for herself. Those who might have noticed her GPS location has been stagnant in one location for two consecutive days could be left to assume the worst. Seeing that the city is safer than it was a few days prior, now would be a good time for those to investigate the non-corpse taking shelter in the back room of that battered shop.
Just follow the remains of synthetics and destruction.

"Here," she calls from the back of the shop, rubbing her aching forehead. When Maketh approaches, Rey will manage a wry smile. "Should be the one giving you something... not the other way around."
That's what you do for birthdays, right?
Thank god she can breathe again.

In truth, she's forgotten about her birthday entirely.

What a trivial thing to be hung up on of all times. It's not like Rey has ever put much stock in birthdays, either.

Part of her feels badly that Henry took the time to remember and also tell Rey, with everything that's happened.

For a moment, she tries to get up off the floor. Her ribs sear and her back slams against the wall again. A heavy exhale escapes her throat.
"Shit..."
