It was bound to happen. The Null warned you, after all, and this has been building for awhile - and now it's here. First comes the initial attack, the agents of the Null attacking Hope's temple. Then, an SOS, warning the city of what's happened: a betrayal, and Hope being injured. Luckily for everyone, thanks to the actions of his guards Hope survives the attack. Unluckily, his attacker, the goddess Delight, escapes and lets the Null in.
Flooding into the cave, the Null will attack anyone who they believe is resisting them. They'll destroy buildings and deploy dangerous crowd control weapons, in addition to their sheer strength and speed. Confusion empties the monsters in the tunnels into the city, to help distract the Null. Some gods fight, others provide safe havens, but everyone is in danger.
After about a week and a half of the attack, Fear summons enough power to teleport the city. This stops any new Null from arriving through the tunnels, but the remaining Null must be hunted down and destroyed, or else they'll signal their location to the rest of their species. The danger will lessen as Null are taken out, but things won't really be safe until Fear moves the city again, so don't get too comfortable.
What will you do? Run and hide? Fight? Help the fighters? Turn on the gods yourself? Whatever you do, it's time to make a decision.► This log covers November 25th-December 12th.

[Chris isn't feeling much like humor himself, but he still appreciates the jokes all the same. It's just still kind of surreal, honestly, to think about Delight working with the Null; there are so many things he wants to ask her, even if he's not sure any explanation would be worth it. The betrayal itself would've hurt enough even without everything that happened back at home with Josh; what is with people he likes pulling this kind of shit anyway?
But that's not helpful at the moment, and he shakes his head at Kate's question.]
Nothing immediately obvious, but um, I haven't really looked around much. Sort of just been hate-drinking espresso.
[And hasn't managed to convince himself to leave yet.]
She uh... She'd asked me specifically to stay here, before everything happened. She said we needed to be taking the Null more seriously.
[And it suddenly makes sense why.]

So, dealing with the immediate things seems best. Getting rid of the Null. And seeing what's here. )
...Same.
( Which makes the invitation seem even odder. She wonders who else got this offer, and whether they've considered it. )
Called me stubborn for sayin' no.
( Maybe that was a good thing.
Kate walks further into the building, hand skimming the altar before she ducks down, looking over the whole piece. )
Wonderin' if there's anythin' here.
( She's been working with them. Maybe there's something. Maybe, just maybe, that lull of safety is a legitimate offer. This place might be good for something in the end. )

[Putting it nicely. But he just doesn't get it, and that she tried to get Kate as well as him to come to the Temple just... He's not sure how it all fits. Was she genuinely trying to protect them from the Null? He definitely hasn't seen any of them in here, so maybe. But why? Why would she risk it, especially if she was working with the Null the whole time?
It's so confusing and frustrating and Chris doesn't really want to try to figure it out right now; he'd rather just be mad and upset. But that doesn't get them anywhere, and so he tries to focus on what's important: surviving the Null attack, protecting the other gods, and getting out of all of this on the other side.]
That's um, a good question. It's definitely worth looking around, even though if um... If she wanted us both here, she probably wouldn't have left anything incriminating, but who knows.
[So he's up for a search, if just to give himself something productive to do, and wanders off to start on the side of the temple opposite of Kate.]

And maybe, just maybe, the traitor's temple will go some way to helping that.
She doesn't know. )
Who knows what she were thinkin'.
( She heads a little further in, away from the main body of the temple. If there is anything, it definitely won't be in the main room. And besides, it's quiet, relaxi-
No. She can't listen to that. )
Anything tried to get in here?
( That's... the other thing. Is this place genuinely a safe space? Could they at least get some good out of Delight's decision by using it? )

[He never got to get any real good answers out of Josh for that he did, whether at home or here, and so it'd be really nice to be able to ask Delight. But that's an issue for another time and he keeps looking around as well, even if he has no idea what they might be looking for.]
Nothing yet. It's been um, really quiet, except for like... Gunshots and whatever in the distance. Wolfie's been going out and I can't like, stop him, but he's been coming back and nothing follows him, so...
[That might mean something too. It really does seem safe, which just adds to the weirdness of it all.]
But um... How's it been out there?
[He's hesitant to ask, since he hasn't been able to convince himself to leave this place, but he still wants to know.]
