It was bound to happen. The Null warned you, after all, and this has been building for awhile - and now it's here. First comes the initial attack, the agents of the Null attacking Hope's temple. Then, an SOS, warning the city of what's happened: a betrayal, and Hope being injured. Luckily for everyone, thanks to the actions of his guards Hope survives the attack. Unluckily, his attacker, the goddess Delight, escapes and lets the Null in.
Flooding into the cave, the Null will attack anyone who they believe is resisting them. They'll destroy buildings and deploy dangerous crowd control weapons, in addition to their sheer strength and speed. Confusion empties the monsters in the tunnels into the city, to help distract the Null. Some gods fight, others provide safe havens, but everyone is in danger.
After about a week and a half of the attack, Fear summons enough power to teleport the city. This stops any new Null from arriving through the tunnels, but the remaining Null must be hunted down and destroyed, or else they'll signal their location to the rest of their species. The danger will lessen as Null are taken out, but things won't really be safe until Fear moves the city again, so don't get too comfortable.
What will you do? Run and hide? Fight? Help the fighters? Turn on the gods yourself? Whatever you do, it's time to make a decision.► This log covers November 25th-December 12th.

streets, nov. 27~
Is there anywhere safe? [Julie asks grimly, bringing her assault rifle - still with enough ammo to take down a few more Null - up in front of her. It doesn't look like she's going to argue, though.]
Felt like they're after me since they started getting in here.
no subject
Probably 'cause they are if you're on their list. Don't worry, I am too. But you look like a lady who can handle herself, same as me so- Between us, we should probably be alright.
no subject
... Alright. [Someone who isn't telling her that she needs to get to somewhere safe? She can more than deal with that. Julie is already tired of needing to be rescued.]
So, what now?
no subject
[ Rose is definitely happy to play the protector, but she isn't going to baby people either. While the wolf woman is aware that not everyone has the same strength as she might, that's no reason that they can't still take up arms and fight.
Her ears twitch to the sound of mechanical clicking as one of the Null approaches. Their bipedal forms are a bit unnerving but- No time to be bothered by it now. ] Hope you're ready.
no subject
[Some of it is bravado, but there's a whole lot of knowing that protecting herself is necessary and she can't stop and rely on anyone to take care of her if she isn't going to at least make the effort to do it for herself.
She brings the assault rifle up, leveling it at the centre of her chest.]
After you, yeah?
no subject
The woman snarls suddenly, all fang and claw. In a blink, she's gone. Rocketing at the humanoid. Her jaws clamp down on where the jugular would be out of instinct. It doesn't do a whole lot, of course, but she's got her hands on this metal monster and with her strength manages to tear off one of its arms clean from it's socket. ]
Shoot! [ the woman shouts, jumping out of the line of fire as she does. ]
no subject
The rifle shudders in her hands, a volley of bullets hitting the humanoid machine in the centre of its chest. She knows that the thing keeping it running is there, she's pulled enough of them out to examine them herself.
It doesn't take much for the thing to drop, and Julie approaches it to give it a small kick with the side of her shoe.]
These ones are the easy ones. [She squints down at it, frowning.] ... Why are they trying to look like people...
no subject
She's still coming down from the adrenaline spike, rise and fall of her chest a little more labored than before. But she watches it carefully, assuring that it's dead after Julie's kick. Well. 'Dead.' She's not sure if these things die so much as just... shut off. ]
More efficient, maybe. [ Bipedal forms are convenient. Or, ] Could be like my kind, too, and be trying to 'blend in' eventually. Makes it easier to get close to people that way.
no subject
They need to work on their 'blending'. [The girl comments with a slight curl of her lip.
It might have two legs, but a half decayed zombie has more chance of fitting in than this hunk of metal.]
Let's get out of here.
no subject
[ They've probably already started working on synthetic skin, on- Appearing more human, for all they aren't. That's an unsettling thought. ]
But sure. Probably better to move now in case those things have distress beacons.
no subject
[If the Null could look like this now, how long would it be before they were able to look just like regular people? How long before they'd have no way of telling them apart from everyone else?
She backs off from the 'body' and nods, hoisting her gun up in her hands.]
Yeah, okay. I'll follow you.
no subject
[ There's still plenty of Null skulking about. Some people she knows have already been taken out by them. It's a madhouse, but hopefully still one they can try to navigate. ]
Just can't promise it'll be a smooth ride there.
no subject
[Julie's immediate bristling no doubt speaks volumes of how she sees her position in this particular madhouse. Rose is not the first person to offer to 'deliver her to safety' and she's refused the offers almost every time.]
I'm out here to fight, not to be everyone's excuse to be a hero.
no subject
[ What a spitfire, Rose thinks. Makes sense that she's out here, but- Everyone has a limit. ]
Secondly, nothing wrong with taking a moment or two recharge. But if you'd rather keep fighting, that's fine too.
no subject
[A spitfire, she is. There's a fire in her eyes as she hoists her rifle up.]
We done? Can we go now?
no subject
She wonders how long it'll take Julie before she gets worn down. Of course, the woman hopes that she doesn't get to the point she has. Rose wouldn't wish that on anyone. ]
Yeah, let's get going. I'll lead you back out there.
