Event Log: End of Arc 2

What: The event log for the End of Arc 2

Warnings: A full-scale battle, including character death, NPC death, and various other ways to suffer

It was bound to happen. The Null warned you, after all, and this has been building for awhile - and now it's here. First comes the initial attack, the agents of the Null attacking Hope's temple. Then, an SOS, warning the city of what's happened: a betrayal, and Hope being injured. Luckily for everyone, thanks to the actions of his guards Hope survives the attack. Unluckily, his attacker, the goddess Delight, escapes and lets the Null in.

Flooding into the cave, the Null will attack anyone who they believe is resisting them. They'll destroy buildings and deploy dangerous crowd control weapons, in addition to their sheer strength and speed. Confusion empties the monsters in the tunnels into the city, to help distract the Null. Some gods fight, others provide safe havens, but everyone is in danger.

After about a week and a half of the attack, Fear summons enough power to teleport the city. This stops any new Null from arriving through the tunnels, but the remaining Null must be hunted down and destroyed, or else they'll signal their location to the rest of their species. The danger will lessen as Null are taken out, but things won't really be safe until Fear moves the city again, so don't get too comfortable.

What will you do? Run and hide? Fight? Help the fighters? Turn on the gods yourself? Whatever you do, it's time to make a decision.

[He was also gonna do that anyway, strolling over and grabbing a handful right in front of her. But hey, her permission just means he doesn't get yelled at. Taako's eyes glance around the room to find somewhere to settle in for a bit, finally resting on the couch.

He's gonna try to take the chips with him. Sorry, he's not as good with... well, everything, as Lup, especially as he talks with his mouth full like a trash goblin.]

So uh, sucky way to start the Candlenights season, huh? Happy holiday, death robots.

[That's okay. Kyna is pushy enough to wiggle in beside him and shove her hand in the bag again.]

Candlenights? What's that?

[Good, for her sake, because he would feel absolutely no remorse breaking her door in and taking all her shit. As it stands, he looks at her quizzically, swallowing the chips currently in his mouth.]

You know, Candlenights? Winter holiday, gift giving, a bush is there??

[Do these sad fucks not even have Candlenights? Lord. What kind of education is he gonna have to give these people.]

[evocation]

[Kyna squints up at him suspiciously.]

Like Christmas? Wait, why do you guys use a bush?

[He just looks at her like she's an idiot.]

What do you use that's not a bush? This isn't one of those specific religious holidays, right?

[evocation]

Uh... I guess it is? But pretty much everyone celebrates it now. It's just like... an excuse to get presents and eat a lot. And you use a tree.

[pocketspa]

I mean, that's also what you do for Candlenights. People got tired about having like, six billion holidays so they just said hey, here's a week to get fucking drunk for whatever god you like, party on this bush, whatever.

[He shrugs. Candlenights just sort of lost any religious meaning like, forever ago. People just party and eat and you get free shit. What's not to like?]
