It was bound to happen. The Null warned you, after all, and this has been building for awhile - and now it's here. First comes the initial attack, the agents of the Null attacking Hope's temple. Then, an SOS, warning the city of what's happened: a betrayal, and Hope being injured. Luckily for everyone, thanks to the actions of his guards Hope survives the attack. Unluckily, his attacker, the goddess Delight, escapes and lets the Null in.
Flooding into the cave, the Null will attack anyone who they believe is resisting them. They'll destroy buildings and deploy dangerous crowd control weapons, in addition to their sheer strength and speed. Confusion empties the monsters in the tunnels into the city, to help distract the Null. Some gods fight, others provide safe havens, but everyone is in danger.
After about a week and a half of the attack, Fear summons enough power to teleport the city. This stops any new Null from arriving through the tunnels, but the remaining Null must be hunted down and destroyed, or else they'll signal their location to the rest of their species. The danger will lessen as Null are taken out, but things won't really be safe until Fear moves the city again, so don't get too comfortable.
What will you do? Run and hide? Fight? Help the fighters? Turn on the gods yourself? Whatever you do, it's time to make a decision.► This log covers November 25th-December 12th.

The machines are determined, following Rhy with a singleminded drive. They will give him no quarter and adapt quickly to his movements and the methods he uses to escape. Rome could leave him- but that has never been an option, and so when Rhy turns a corner, a large wolf greets him, barreling into the closest Null, teeth closing around one of the joints on a weapon arm.
It's too heavy to be bowled over, even with Rome's added bulk, but the surprise of it stops the three of them in their tracks as their priorities fragment- first on Rhy and then at the creature currently ripping the steel arm out of the socket with its teeth.
The limb is too well-connected to be entirely removed- unlike a human's- but Rome yanks with a snarl, managing to rip at it until sparks fly from the socket and the arm goes limp and dead. The other two aren't taking this lightly though, the temporary distraction now becoming another target as one of the remaining Null turns to target Rome while the other stays focused on Rhy.]

Rhy wheels around, snatches up a fallen piece of stone, and chucks it at the machine coming towards him. It's not big or heavy enough to do damage, but it ensure that the Null remains focused on him - because wolf or not, three Null is far too many to face alone.
He clutches his sword tightly and rushes the Null. Rhy's sword technique is good - he's no genius warrior, but he was trained by the best money and position could buy. He avoids the Null's initial attack and brings his sword down hard on its slim arm, aiming for the join, just as Rome did. He doesn't have quite enough strength to smash it, but it throws the Null off balance for a moment. Rhy presses the attack, moving even closer, allowing the Null's other arm to drive into his shoulder - which opens it up to further attack, this time aimed at the central mass of the thing.
He's bleeding, but he's doing damage. It's enough to keep the creature distracted, and perhaps to eventually defeat it.]

He jumps then, onto the back of the Null that Rhy is currently facing, his jaws wrapping around the neck from behind and holding on while it flails, caught off-guard by the sudden weight on its back. It serves to expose the oddly-shaped core on its center mass to Rhy, but only for a moment.
The still-intact machine fires off one of its incapacitating rounds, which hits Rome square in the back. The fur helps- it's mitigated more than it would have been if it had hit skin, but he still seizes, losing his footing and the grip with his jaws, falling to the ground stunned for the time being.]

He does strike the core. Maybe it's luck, maybe it's a combination of his and Rome's skill, maybe it doesn't matter. The ultimate result is one Null going dark, curling in on itself, collapsing to the ground as its control disappears. Rhy stumbles backwards, only barely getting out of the way before the undamaged Null charges, slicing at where he just was.
Two really isn't that much better than three, but it's an improvement. He can't let Rome go down, though, and again Rhy uses himself as a distraction, putting his body between the Null and Rome, trying to give him time to recover. It won't last - there's no way he can face two of them down - but he'll try.]

Rome paces behind Rhy's legs once he's able to again, supportive and silently ensuring that his partner in battle is aware that he's been able to recover. Still, with two of them left, he's not sure exactly how to tackle this. Luckily, one of them has the screwed-up arm, but he doubts that it will save them for long.
It's also unfortunately difficult for him to communicate like this, and so he just hopes that Rhy can follow his lead when he decides to take action next, darting around one of the Null and narrowly avoiding being sliced by its laser cutter- like this, he can position so that they're both on either side of the two, ensuring that they can't simply focus on them head on.
He dives in to attack the leg of the machine that turned to face him, settling his jaw around the limb and pulling in an attempt to unseat it. As distractions go, it's a good one, and it makes the resulting laser swing go a bit wild, digging into the nearby wall while the crippled machine makes a charge at Rhy.]

With one Null distracted by Rome, Rhy is able to move with a little more freedom. The machine charges at him, and he swings to the side at the last moment, getting out of its way. His injuries are mostly gone already, bruises fading and cuts disappearing, so his movements are easier than they might be otherwise.
The Null is still steady on its, despite its injured arm, so it wastes no time wavering. It turns on Rhy, slicing down with its one good arm, and Rhy dodges beneath, missing it by a hair, moving to the side again - so that this time, when the Null swings at him, it's aimed nearly towards the other machine, the one facing Rome. It's not an infallible plan, but in that brief moment it works, aided by the injured Null's less-than-perfect from. Its laser cutter slices the edge of the unhurt Null's leg, not enough to seriously damage it, but enough that at least now they're both in need of some repair.]
