Event Log: End of Arc 2

What: The event log for the End of Arc 2

Warnings: A full-scale battle, including character death, NPC death, and various other ways to suffer

It was bound to happen. The Null warned you, after all, and this has been building for awhile - and now it's here. First comes the initial attack, the agents of the Null attacking Hope's temple. Then, an SOS, warning the city of what's happened: a betrayal, and Hope being injured. Luckily for everyone, thanks to the actions of his guards Hope survives the attack. Unluckily, his attacker, the goddess Delight, escapes and lets the Null in.

Flooding into the cave, the Null will attack anyone who they believe is resisting them. They'll destroy buildings and deploy dangerous crowd control weapons, in addition to their sheer strength and speed. Confusion empties the monsters in the tunnels into the city, to help distract the Null. Some gods fight, others provide safe havens, but everyone is in danger.

After about a week and a half of the attack, Fear summons enough power to teleport the city. This stops any new Null from arriving through the tunnels, but the remaining Null must be hunted down and destroyed, or else they'll signal their location to the rest of their species. The danger will lessen as Null are taken out, but things won't really be safe until Fear moves the city again, so don't get too comfortable.

What will you do? Run and hide? Fight? Help the fighters? Turn on the gods yourself? Whatever you do, it's time to make a decision.

[that admission gets a little more of a side-eye, but Law is just too damn tired to give that much of a shit. Maybe later, after there's time to process. Or not, after certain death.]

I don't remember that. But, it's been a while. [he ducks his head a little, trying to catch his breath, focus his haki to tell him if there's anyone else living nearby] I can see why you wouldn't want to just admit that such a thing is inside you.

[Oh cool, he didn't remember that. Super. Could've just kept your dumb mouth shut, Munroe. Whatever, too late. He might as well know.]

Yeah it's uh, not well received by most people. [Especially since that kind of stuff isn't supposed to be real where he's from.] You don't seem all that bothered, though. I kinda thought that was just because of the dream, too.

I'm too tired to be bothered. [full stop] We all have secrets, you just got lucky that your dream didn't bare yours wide open for all to see.

That... [glancing over his shoulder at Michael] ...and it saved my ass, so complaining would be stupid.

Oh. I guess that's fair. [He's pretty tired himself.] I think I'm just lucky most people believed me when I said it was only a dream.

[He's a little surprised by the gratitude, though. No one has ever been thankful for the Visitor in any capacity, though he supposes he is currently using it "for good" or whatever.]

I'm not sure if it's weird for me to say this, since I didn't do it, but you're welcome? [He thinks for a second.] And maybe we should get inside.

Yeah. [that sounds like a great idea. Law tries to push himself up using his sword, but wobbles and falls against the wall instead. Ugh. He hates being helpless.] I'll get right on that. You know, when my legs work again.

[Same, buddy. Except Michael is at least capable of standing, which he does, with a bit of a struggle. He has to lean against the rubble behind him for a second, but once he's steady, he reaches a hand down for Law.]

[This is maybe a bad idea since Law is bigger and he is supremely tired, but he guesses he'll figure that out soon enough.]

[a stable hand is all he needs. Law takes it and pries himself up, though he keeps one hand on the wall to guide himself around to the door, wherever it is.]

[Michael stays close in case one or both of them needs to catch the other one, as they hobble their way inside the fire station. Time to recharge for a little bit, before they inevitably have to go back out into the fray.]
