Firehouse refuge catchall -- for Arc 2 End
The Brigade will be providing shelter instead of fighting fires during this event, because in the face of an all-out Null attack, protecting people has to be the priority over saving buildings.
They and other volunteers are opening the Firehouse as a refuge for anyone who needs one, temporarily or for the duration. Curufin has offered the Firehouse as an alternative place for Clinic staff and patients or as a place to stop and rest on their way to Love's hotsprings. It can also be used as a waystation by anybody who is trying to get to the hotsprings or to escape across the river to Delmar's and Seel's bunker in the Bakery. The Firehouse can also be used by anyone who is fighting the Null and needs to catch a few hours of sleep before returning to the battle.
The Firehouse is located on the northeast side of the lake -- on the side towards the city center, that is. You can't miss it. It's a brick building that consists of a garage and maintenance center for the fire engines, with an attached bunkhouse annex, a small but usable kitchen, and a little office which is also equipped as a first aid station.
Fingon, Oscar, Seel, Maglor, Celebrimbor, Sansa Stark, Nick Rivenna, Luke Skywalker, and Curufin will work to get the place ready. After that, most of them will be off to fight the Null or to help with other projects elsewhere. But someone will be there to greet those seeking shelter. Trafalgar Law will be there some of the time as a healer, and likewise Sansa Stark, who is learning the healing arts from Elrond of Rivendell.
ALSO FEEL FREE TO MAKE YOUR OWN TOPLEVELS.
AND FEEL FREE TO TREAT THIS AS A MINGLER!
[ OOC Notes: The userpic is a meadow flower called a firewheel, and it is the emblem of the Fire Brigade. Not a flame, not an axe, not a firefighter's hat, but a flower, for LIFE. ]

11/25 - 11/27 (open)
Backdated to the 26th?
Do you think we should bother setting up any traps here as well? Not the way we defended the house, perhaps, if it needs to shelter civilians as well.
But still, there must be something....
Sorry I'm so late on this! -- maybe we should just wrap it and go on to future posts?
How about some magical wards and maybe some physical ones as well? We can build a picket-wall around the building, at the least.
That's fine. And as if I can comment on people being late!
That will do. Just enough to make them go after better targets.
Somewhere between 11/25 and 11/28 -- for Will Solace (closed)

Thanks for offering the space.

You're welcome. I thought you and the other Clinic personnel might prefer a space that is protected by the gods -- whereas, this space is protected only by a bunch of Elves and mortals, albeit with a few special powers. But you're welcome to use the Firehouse if you need it. Even if only as a resting place on the way to Love's hotsprings.
And how are you doing, Will? [ He knows Will is a very competent young man, and a very courageous one. And yet sometimes he can't help feeling protective. ]
no subject
[Which it would. Will's been though two wars, enough to know that things happen that you can't plan for. The new locations would be targeted too.It would just be a case of whether or not they can defend them or if they had to keep moving.
He smiled at Curufin. it was nice having someone worry about him. They were so far from home, and honestly he couldn't remember the last time he had a mortal worry about him. Or as mortal as elves got.]
I'm okay. Don't worry about me, this isn't my first battle. Or even my first war.

[ Curufin would be surprised if nothing did. He too has been through enough wars to know that whatever can go wrong, will. And that's even before you allow for the totally unexpected. . . which also always happens. The more possible clinic locations, the better, and those who are staffing them will just have to defend them the best they can, for as long as they can.
He smiles back. It would be easy to forget that Will isn't exactly a mortal himself! A funny conversation, between the son of a god and an Elf who is powerful and long-lived. Different kinds of power, approaching each other from different directions. And yet with so much in common. ]
I know you can take care of yourself. And I know you have experience. [ Curufin knows how important it is to acknowledge Will for this. ]

[At least they both agreed. Something would go wrong. Probably. There were too many Null, and they had to be prepared for the worst. At the very least, having two locations would shorten the distance someone would need to come see them. And they had more than enough clinic staff to man both places.]
Thanks. Sometimes I wish I didn't, that events hadn't happened the way they did to necessitate it, but, it's part of who you are, right? I'll be fine. And I know you will be too.
(no subject)
Anytime during the event -- just give a date or a timeframe and your character's needs
6th or 7th so? [closed to Curufin]
He doesn't, honestly, really even know who works there other than Curufin, and normally that would make him very hesitant to go there and trust it's going to be a safe place. But he doesn't have much other choice, wandering in a bit dazedly; he isn't seriously hurt, but a minor concussion makes walking a bit difficult and cracked ribs and a broken cheekbone are distractingly painful.
He glances around the place slowly, not wanting to move his head too quickly, leaning against the wall for some support and trying to figure out if anywhere is around and, if so, who. Mostly he just needs somewhere to rest a little while, but some food and maybe an ice pack certainly wouldn't hurt.]
sounds good!
Dr. Sweets! [ The habit of formality tends to persist, even though he's known Lance for a while. ] Are you injured?
no subject
It's not... Really serious.
[Nailed it. Definitely reassuring there.]
I think I just need to take a break, and this is...
[Probably the best place to do so, right now. And all of that said--]
Are you okay?
[He should ask; no one here's probably doing that great at the moment, but there's definitely a wide range within that category. He's not about to impose if Curufin isn't doing alright himself.]
no subject
Maybe not, but you look all in. Sit down, please! [ And he indicates a chair. And don't think he's going to let you get away with not dealing with your injury. But first, he'll answer your question and let you rest. ]
I'm all right. [ He grins. ] I haven't been killed today and nobody I love has been killed, so today is a good day.
[ And he pours Lance a cup of coffee and sets it on the table before the chair he has indicated. ] What's been happening on your end?

"How's it going, Luke?"

He kept working, but wondered a little as he did. "I keep wondering if this is how my father felt fighting in the Clone Wars. Besides the Separatists, the main enemies were usually droids, I've heard. Not with organic aspects, like these, but similar. I know he's not injured...I'd feel it...but I'll have to talk to him when I have a free moment, see how he's holding up in other ways.
no subject
"I wonder, too. But I suppose this must seem a familiar situation to him, if that's the case. That would be an advantage. I consider your father a friend, and I hope he is doing all right. If you see him before I do, give him my best!"
no subject
"In a way, it probably does." he agreed. "I think our histories are more similar than we sometimes realize, really. The enemy I fought, though, abhorred technology, so there were no droids being used against us."
He nodded. "I will, when I see him again. He was a bit troubled before the attack. I'm still not entirely sure of the whole story, but I hope he's managing all right with all this." He still didn't know why his dad *wanted* to be hunted.

OPEN~
Lifting her skirts, she rushes from the first aid station to the kitchen, a frown furrowing her brow as she searches for fresh water and fruit.
"Must I run to the market?" she worries her bottom lip, realizing the safest option is simply to do without. But the water will not go to waste. She sips on it thirstily, resting briefly against a counter.

Sansa will find apples, oranges, lemons, limes, and peaches. All neatly bundled up in paper sacks. The citrus fruits will provide quite a lot of disinfectant, and there'll be enough to give some to the patients to eat, to help strengthen them. And if she runs out, he'll be happy to go and gather more.
"Ramble all you like! I always learn something new when you talk about things you are passionate about. You seem to be taking to this healing profession like a duck to water!"
no subject
"I...do enjoy it." she sets the fruit on the counter and begins to cut them into pieces, "I like thinking that if there is an emergency, I needn't be helpless or stand out of the way. I can help and maybe save a life."
