As far too many others have in the past, you wake up on the sandy ground of the colosseum, the stone ceiling of the cave stretching high overhead. But this is probably the first time this has happened to you - and even if it isn't, things are even more chaotic than usual right now. You've come at a weird time, friend.
The first thing you might see when you wake up is a salamander, or maybe a lot of salamanders. These amphibious creatures may be kind of cute, they're also incredibly flammable. Anything that brushes up against them has a very good chance of lighting on fire, so keep your distance, and make sure all your stuff keeps its distance too. Oh, and maybe keep them from crawling into the city to light that on fire, too. And in case that isn't enough warmth for you, you can also find a collection of different socks scattered around the arena. So that's... nice.
Of course, you've come at a remarkably bad time. A whole army of evil AI robot creatures recently attacked the city, and all you newcomers have arrived just as the attack is winding down. Does that mean you're not in too much danger? Of course not! There are still Null running around, and while they will ignore you if you ignore them, the second you attack them or deliberately get in their way they'll turn on you too. On top of that, the city itself has been devastated by the attack, with buildings destroyed and people killed. Welcome to Hadriel, let's hope no one tries to use you as a distraction while you're confused and frightened.
Once things calm down, the city's going to be on a different world - but you'll still have a life to live. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers December 10th-12th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
Settling In
It's still rather dangerous...but it's good to see you helping out. We need all we can get. Be careful, though.
[There won't be any mistaking his lightsaber as he quickly ignites it and cuts down one of the beasts as it tries to attack, then deactivates it.]
I won't hurt you, I promise. This weapon is only for defense.

She looks up at the voice and frowns. Certainly, what he's saying is true. But she doesn't need it iterated for her. She's relatively intelligent, after all.
But when the lightsaber comes out, she blinks in surprise.]
I'm not afraid of the lightsaber. I've known many Jedi in my time.
[And a few Sith lords too, evidently.]

Ah. It's nice to meet someone from home. Sorry it isn't under better conditions. The city isn't always like this, though. Hopefully, it'll settle down before too long.
[He decides to go ahead and introduce himself.]
My name is Luke...Luke Skywalker. It's good to meet you.

It can't be. He can't be.
She's not sure if this is cruel or kind. Perhaps both at the same time.
A deep breath in. Deep breath out. Manage something like a smile. Attempt civil conversation.]
Padmé Amidala. Of Naboo.

I have heard of you. Your name isn't unknown...I've heard you did a lot for the cause of freedom and democracy. It's nice to meet you.

[That even sounds like it's her. She can do this.]
Forgive me, Master Skywalker, but whom was your Jedi Master?
no subject
I had two, really. I trained with Ben...Obi-Wan he was known as back then. And I trained with Master Yoda. It was dangerous for the Jedi and there were not many left, but I learned a lot from the two of them.

She never even got to hold her children, to kiss them, to let them know just how much she loved them. Her last thoughts had been torn between her newborn infants and their father. Her last words had been of caution and pleading to save what was good in her husband.]
What is she like, your sister?
[Her voice is just this side of crying. Jedi trainers can wait, but it does help her to know her son a little.]

She's strong and stubborn a lot of the time, but she's very kind, too. She was a great leader...she was Chief of State for a time, although she stepped down a while back. She's still helping the government as best she can, though. It's been rough at times, but she's done so much for the government. The New Republic. Or as it's called now, the Galactic Alliance of Free Systems.

[Hearing about her children, meeting them, was never something she thought would happen as she laid on that medical table with medidroids surrounding her.
And his words, they give her a hope that she thought had died in her the moment Palpatine had been raised as emperor. Her smile is sad but she's happy.]
She sounds like someone I know. I would have loved to have another like mind in the Senate during my time.
no subject
I think you would like her very much. I still hope she'll come here so that you two can meet.
She and I...we both have children of our own as well. She had twins and then a third...A boy and girl and then a boy. I have a son as well. You have grandchildren who I think you would be proud of as well. One's even named for his grandfather. Jacen and Jaina are the twins. My son is Ben.
[He's not going to mention losing Anakin right now.]
no subject
If only... If only she'd had the chance to meet any of them.]
It sounds like a lovely family.

I hope they'll come here. I think you would like them.

[Spoken as a person who's had all of her wishes dashed in a single week.]

And I'm not entirely sure that even if I could take action to bring them here, that, like we both said, it should be done.
I am just sorry things are so rough here for all of us.
