Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the Shining, Shimmering, Splashing event, as well as new world exploration and rebuilding!
Where: All over the city, and beyond!
When: December 13th-26th
Warnings: Way too much sun, water that makes you feel weird, and some monsters

Welcome to the new Hadriel. It's pretty much like the old Hadriel, except for all the destroyed buildings - oh, and the sky above you. With two suns, and a whole world to explore if that's what you're into. But is it safe? Of course not, are you new or something? Arriving on this new world doesn't change much about the layout of the city, but it certainly changes what you have to deal with. Of course, that's mostly thanks to the Null.

Because of Hope's near-death and subsequent slow recovery, life in Hadriel overall is just a little - or a lot - harder than it used to be. Food in the shops is nearly impossible to find, the orchard has been partially burned (and with Sorrow dead, won't be growing much anytime soon), and there's no running water. It's time to explore, rebuild, and try to survive without the help of the one god that was providing most of the amenities. Of course, you're not the only ones who need to eat - the monsters that were brought along with the city are getting hungry, too. Of course, some of them are edible, so maybe the fact that they're coming into the city to try and eat you makes them more like a convenient food delivery system - if you can munch them before they munch you.

And the water... well, that's another story. There are pools around the god temples now, and the water is perfectly safe to drink. The only down side there is that it'll induce emotion in you. Drink a glass of Love water and you'll find yourself inclined towards warm feelings, fix a cup of coffee with Rage water and you'll have a bit of trouble with that temper. You might get a few blessing effects, too, if you're lucky. But what can you do? Unaffected running water won't be working for a few days, so enjoy those mood swings!

She just ended up here and- weren't they in a cave?

People have been giving her answers, for sure, but there's so much stuff going on and she's still so dazed from it all, from not knowing how to reach her family, that she just...she's not doing well.

But the offering catches her attention, and she's looking between him and the bottle for a few seconds. ]

T...thanks.

[ She takes it.

Oh thank fuck, that goes down smooth. ]

[Kravitz simply nods and shuffles awkwardly in place. He doesn't know what to do past this point. She had looked like she was in need of a drink- great, there's a simple, easy way to deal with that. One step. Pass her a drink.

Now, he just kind of looms over Alana, silent and unintentionally perhaps a little menacing. Orrrrrr maybe he just looks like a big, gloomy doofus.]

[ She's preoccupied with first getting her thirst quenched, but she's still drinking when she glances over the bottle and just notices this guy...staring...at her...

She coughs lightly and wipes her mouth, wondering if she did something wrong...or just took the wrong drink from the wrong guy. ]

Do you...should I, huh-oh-

[ She shuffled, then pats at her pockets, then reaches for her bag. ]

I don't...have much, but--

[ That's probably it, right? That he wants something in return?? ]

[Oh, gods. Inwardly, Kravitz screams at his own social ineptitude. Outwardly, he holds up a hand at her and shakes his head, taking a step back.]

No, no, I- I don't want anything. You're quite alright, there.

I apologize. I didn't mean to give off that impression.

Oh, huh...that's okay?

[ What is it with this guy? ]

Sorry, I--okay, really, thank you for this.

[ She pauses. How does she make this less awkward? ]

My name's Alana. You are...?

[Don't ask. He has no fucking idea.]

That's alright.

[Yeah, cool, Kravitz can do introductions. That's a good move.]

Kravitz. I'm pleased to meet you. Have you been here very long...?

[ Alana shakes her head, her expression turning to a hint of upset, but with all the tonality of someone who's getting used to that question and is aware she's not the only one in her situation. ]

Just a couple of weeks.

[Oh. Dunk. Wrong thing to ask. He's already stepped in it.]

I'm sorry you have found yourself in such unfortunate circumstances. If it's of any comfort, I can assure you that there is good company to be found.

Hah, heard that a couple of times.

[ This guy seems pretty formal. And people's words of comforts seem practiced - not out of fallacy, but out of experience. She can't blame them, she supposes, considering how long some of them have been around. ]

Talk about a forced beach vacation, huh? Minus the ocean.

[ She was already on an island. Are they not allowed water, now?]
