Event Log: Shining, Shimmering, Splashing

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the Shining, Shimmering, Splashing event, as well as new world exploration and rebuilding!
Where: All over the city, and beyond!
When: December 13th-26th
Warnings: Way too much sun, water that makes you feel weird, and some monsters

Welcome to the new Hadriel. It's pretty much like the old Hadriel, except for all the destroyed buildings - oh, and the sky above you. With two suns, and a whole world to explore if that's what you're into. But is it safe? Of course not, are you new or something? Arriving on this new world doesn't change much about the layout of the city, but it certainly changes what you have to deal with. Of course, that's mostly thanks to the Null.

Because of Hope's near-death and subsequent slow recovery, life in Hadriel overall is just a little - or a lot - harder than it used to be. Food in the shops is nearly impossible to find, the orchard has been partially burned (and with Sorrow dead, won't be growing much anytime soon), and there's no running water. It's time to explore, rebuild, and try to survive without the help of the one god that was providing most of the amenities. Of course, you're not the only ones who need to eat - the monsters that were brought along with the city are getting hungry, too. Of course, some of them are edible, so maybe the fact that they're coming into the city to try and eat you makes them more like a convenient food delivery system - if you can munch them before they munch you.

And the water... well, that's another story. There are pools around the god temples now, and the water is perfectly safe to drink. The only down side there is that it'll induce emotion in you. Drink a glass of Love water and you'll find yourself inclined towards warm feelings, fix a cup of coffee with Rage water and you'll have a bit of trouble with that temper. You might get a few blessing effects, too, if you're lucky. But what can you do? Unaffected running water won't be working for a few days, so enjoy those mood swings!

[Whoa. A lot of weird stuff has happened since he landed in Hadriel, but nothing gives him weirdness vertigo like hearing that Alphys is familiar with the same kinds of anime as him. Like, down to the same series. That's so wild.]

Pfft, any anime fan worth their salt has seen Cowboy Bebop. [He's laughing, though.] Bebop's pretty good, but I always like Outlaw Star better. I'll look up your thing as soon as I get home. What's it called again?

[Mew Mew Cute Kissing or something? Newt's pretty sure he'll hate it, but he'll give it a fair shake. For Alphys.]

Hey, uh, how'd you have access to all this stuff back home? Like, since you were locked underground and stuff.

[It's the one (1) anime she has access to, and like, she'd watch it a thousand times even if it wasn't. But his other question makes her look just a little sheepish.]

Well, uhm, we didn't have access to the human internet, so streaming was out... I m-mostly found the dvds in the dump. When they fell into the Underground. It made getting whole series uhm, really hard.

What!? [STOP THE PRESSES.] You have anime here? Alphys! What the hell? You've been holding out on me!

[He's beaming, though. It's been so long since he's seen any video that isn't a crappy home movie that he'll take anything right now.

Wait. Ow. The rest of that is sad.]

Oh, that sucks. Uhh, well, that takes some real dedication, at least. I'm impressed. [A beat.] Sooo, uh, did you want to do anything with your newfound outdoor freedom?

[He says it with that tone of someone who has something else in mind but doesn't want to ruin the moment but also anime...]

[This is so hard now. Yes, the sun is here, but there is a person standing right next to her that hasn't seen Mew Mew Kissy Cutie who wants to right now. She looks like she's about to vibrate right off the planet.]

H-How about. Uhm. We get my laptop. And then we sit outside. And we watch anime.

[WATCH MEW MEW WITH HER THEY'LL FIGURE OUT THE LAPTOP SUN GLARE SOMEHOW IT'S FINE]

Dude, that's the best idea you've had yet. But if we're gonna do this, we need to do it right. Get your laptop, I'll grab a ton of junk food from the shops, and we'll meet, uh... How about in the park?

[Just because sun exists now doesn't mean they have to sit in the sun. They can camp out under a tree or something.]

Yeah!! I left it on the charger this morning so it'll have a t-ton of battery. Meet in half an hour??

[Provided she doesn't spend another hour just like, staring at the sun. She can ease into it. Just. Get that feeling. Yeah.]
