Who: Clinic Staff, Guard Staff & absolutely anyone who wants to help out
What: Building us a brand new clinic and guard HQ
Where: By spire 4
When: 14th onwards.
Warnings: Exhaustion, god spiked water, sharp objects probably…
( The message flashes across the network a couple of days after Fear moves the city. Perhaps that's a bit too soon in some people's eyes, but as far as Kate can see, they can't wait. The new location - wherever that is - gets scoped out as soon as she's able to do something other than eat and sleep and then it's simply a case of discussing with the staff and sending out the following messages to the network: )
As said before, new clinic and guard location will be by spire four, near the colosseum. Need people to assist in converting the building and finding new equipment. Find a list of needed clinic supplies below.
KG
( And yes, there's a list detailling things like gauze, antiseptic, alcohols (not the drinking kind), and anything else you would imagine useful for triage and emergency care. So come on down! Help clean out an abandoned building, provide equipment, or hell, just come to "supervise" and make snarky comments. Who knows. Just be mindful of the oppressive heat from that second sun and the god taints in your water supply. )
( ooc/ This is the open post for all clinic and guard hq rebuilding things. Feel free to top level as you wish, handwave away, etc. etc. We're easy like that. ;D )

14th [OTA]
Still, he's around, although he's probably not being that useful considering he genuinely shouldn't be lifting much at the moment due to his concussion. So, instead, he's focusing mostly on organizing and sorting anything that might've been found and brought to be used in the clinic; he'll greet and thank anyone who brings something, as well as ask how they're doing after everything that happened.
Alternatively, he can often be found sitting out of the way in some corner; he's not a huge fan of the heat, and unwilling to dress any more lightly than a teeshirt and open button-down over that, so he's often using a corner of the overshirt to do that useless flapping thing that's meant to serve as a way to fan oneself. It's working about as well as expected, and it's just generally very obvious he wishes he were anywhere else.]
sup Lance
Law comes in shortly after the large sun sets, still shirtless but carrying a box filled with a odd assortment of things, some as dusty as long-buried relics, some fairly new: bottles and decanters for lab work, plastic cases of basic first aid supplies, towels, and other medical paraphernalia. He's also got his sword tucked under one arm - never can be too careful with monsters around.]
This is as much as I could salvage from the old building. We're going to be pretty low on bandages if we can't wash and sterilize any cloth.
yoooooo
Dusty and an odd collection or not, that's still a lot of stuff and it's far better than nothing especially considering their shortage of pretty much everything.]
Thank you; I'm pretty amazed there's still this much left.
[After everything the clinic went through. But Lance shares Law's concerns about bandages; the water issue is just one more problem on top of all the others they have.]
We may have to resort to using boiling water for bandages, but I'm really concerned about risk of infection in general even if we can sterilize things. The heat and lack of food won't help anyone's immune systems.

[as welcome a sight as the sun is - both of them - even he had a moment where he had to remind himself not to stare at it like a dumbass. Long-term underground living has probably put a lot of people at risk to exposure]
no subject
[Especially for something as serious as trying to prevent anyone from getting a staph infection or something. That isn't fun.
And neither are any of those other issues Law is listing.]
We'll have to make sure the staff knows how to treat those, especially heat exhaustion, and it might be worthwhile to remind the populace in general about those risks.

So much fun. I've never had more fun.

That's what I thought. Your face, it was just radiating fun.

[But he manages a small smile at her anyway, as she sits down.]
You look like you're adjusting to the heat a little better than I am.

Re: 14th [OTA]
Dr Sweets. You've certainly earned some rest by now, haven't you?
[ Or some healing. Pell, for his part, is looking less ragged, and doesn't seem affected by the heat. He grew up under conditions like this, for the most part. ]
no subject
I think everyone has, and yet we're all here. You included.
[No one in Hadriel apparently knows how to take time to recover. Lance would've preferred if the clinic rebuilding were held off for another few days, especially since they apparently have some functional locations in the interim, but he's not calling the shots.]
no subject
[ So. Not resting, not really. But Lance can't throw stones. ]
How's your head feeling?
no subject
[Because the food shortage is going to be a major problem, especially if it continues much longer. And Pell is right in that it's difficult for Lance to lecture him, so he's not even going to try.
He offers a small shrug at the question.]
I'm okay. It isn't serious, so it's just a matter of time for it to heal.
[Both the broken bone and the concussion, neither of which bother him too badly. He was lucky to get out of everything with such minor injuries.]

"Kate? Where are you hiding?"
no subject
"Bianca?" Her head pokes out from a room at the rear of the ground floor, the familiar pink tint of her hair long gone by now, the lengths blonde and pinned up in braids either side of her head. "What's up?"
no subject
Bianca may look a little worn, but her posture and accent remain stubbornly unchanged. She puts the balloon-like objects carefully down so as to sweep Kate into an imperious, if one-armed, hug.
"I've brought you some undrinkable alcohol, darling. I couldn't find bottles, but manticore bladders work extraordinarily well. It should suffice for basic antisepsis, at least."
no subject
"Great." Basic is about all she expects at the moment, with the city a wreck and their new surroundings still unfamiliar. The internal questions about just what monster parts Bianca has stashed for emergencies can wait. It's not really that important. What is important is that Kate needs a pen and paper to quickly scribble down what that is - not only for her own list of stock which is slowly growing, but also to make sure no one decides to have a water balloon fight with them.
"You been explorin' yet?" Kate, understandably, has been more or less attached to this project since it started. She hasn't had a chance to explore much more than the slight changes to the city. The new pools and wealth of destruction.

His Red Robin uniform's hidden away in the closet of his apartment, so he's dressed in plain street clothes scavenged from what's left of the shops, presenting the picture of nothing more than an ordinary helpful teenager, though one who carries himself with confidence and an air of familiarity for Getting Shit Done. He knocks gently on the door frame to announce his presence.]

Quick.
( That's not a bad thing, really. Mostly. )
Haven't started yet, you know.
( Despite the flat look, she's not being mean about it. Something in her voice even sounds lightly amused at the situation. There's definitely worse things than having a new, eager volunteer. )
