Intro Log: No calls, please

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for March.
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: March 10th-13th
Warnings: Fresh meat, floating plasma eyeball monsters in HD, disappointing infomercial products.

Good morning, and welcome to your first day in Hadriel. Feel free to acquaint yourself with the other travelers who are starting to wake up around you- or explore your surroundings for maximum survival odds!

You may notice that there are a few metal boxes lying on the dirt ground around you. At first these boxes seem innocuous, with no locks or mechanisms to keep them closed. However, any attempt at opening these them reveals that, not only is there absolutely nothing inside of them, but they just so happen to be a handy-dandy Scream-in-a-box from that stupid old Nickelodeon commercial. One peek and it echoes with a loud, bursting scream... though, anyone who tries to use this box to keep themselves awake will only succeed in pissing their neighbors off, because infomercials only exist to lie to you.

If you're concerned about something a little more sinister... well, you're right to be. Lurking in the shadowy corridors of the arena are Cacodemons, from the Doom game series. These nightmarish monsters travel around the area by floating a few feet off the ground. They are capable of firing plasma at you from their mouths, and their sharp teeth speak for themselves. While they're easy to shove back when they're not firing at you, they have a tendency to converge on a single target. You think you can handle one? How about five? Good luck... and try not to melt on your way out.

Once you've managed your daring escape from the colosseum, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

► This log covers March 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well!
► All characters now arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[She smiles at his gun.]

It's very nice, dear heart. Come with me, we'll find it some nice sharp pointy friends, shall we?

[He growls at her tone, because it's patronizing, and honestly he's not quite sure what to do with someone who doesn't seem at all afraid of him. He's not a child, not someone who can be led around with the promise of weapons (although he knows damn well it wouldn't have been the first time, but it's nice to tell himself otherwise).

All the same, if she leaves he'll follow. Because it's weapons, and it's impossible to have too many as far as he's concerned.]

[Bianca tilts her head up at his growl, answering it with a sunny smile.]

I'm joking, sweetheart, no need to be touchy. There really is an armory. We're in an enclosed city in a big cavern; I have been entirely unable to find out anything about the planet, or its position relative to anywhere else. I landed here without my ship; we are all stranded here, I'm afraid.

[She takes his hand, unafraid, and pulls towards where she remembers the armory being.]

Luckily there are accomodations, and the so-called gods do seem interested in keeping us alive.

[The Meta glances down when she grabs his hand, completely baffled because it seems out of left field and...weird, on top of it. He only doesn't pull away because he's surprised it happened to begin with and he assumes she's going to stop soon, once she's made whatever point she's trying to. The growl drops down in volume, more a disgruntled and unsettled rumble than a menacing snarl, and shoulders hunch a little as he follows her. He's got questions, but he's at a loss in terms of how to ask them right now, so he just keeps his more-or-less silence and assumes she'll keep talking since she seems inclined to fill him in as it is.]

[Bianca loves that he doesn't talk: it leaves her entirely free to steer the conversation.]

I've been here a month, now. This seems to happen regularly: clearly there's some sort of rhythm where the portal touches other worlds. I don't believe there are any living natives - at least, not sentient.

Plenty of monsters, though. I should dearly love some analytical equipment.

[At the mention of portals and other worlds, he pauses, or at least slows in their walk, head tilting in question as he shifts to look at her better. Not that it's any surprise, he had to get here somehow and it's as good an explanation as any, he knows those kinds of things are technically possible, but it's the start at a reason. Portals and worlds, there's got to be a reason somewhere near to it. Adding numbers to the ranks in a predictable way has to have a purpose.]

Yes. You'll find people here are mostly from different worlds. I was travelling between worlds, myself, when I was pulled here.

[His wordless communications are becoming easier to understand.]

Here we are, ight by Rage's temple. It's all very low tech, sadly, but there's always something reassuring about a nice big knife, don't you think?

[He shifts his attention to the building when they stop, looks it over and lets out a low growl as judgment, another rolling one at her comment because yes, yes there is. Not that he needs a knife to be dangerous, but they're certainly nice things to have.

He's not about to volunteer anything about himself, not that he could if he wanted to, not without putting out actual effort. She's still a stranger, albeit a useful one; no reason to volunteer anything.

He doesn't wait for an escort, or an invitation, instead walks right in like there's no potential threat inside, at least not to him, like he goes there all the time. There are weapons inside; no matter what else is in there, what's there to find is the most important thing right now.]
