This time, it's different.
There's no cave, no stone walls looming up around you and overhead, no stifling air or artificial light- not that you'd appreciate it, seeing as to how you've probably never been here before. And still, when you land facefirst on the dirt ground of the colosseum, you may not quite appreciate all the improvements and steps we've had to take to get here- after all, you're still surrounded by strangers in a crumbling city on an alien planet in the middle of nowhere.
Oh, and you're being attacked by Earth Elementals. These creatures are tall, between seven to ten feet, and made of solid rock, capable of punching through all the squishy bits of you- and for whatever reason, they definitely want to start punching. They're incredibly strong and, seeing as to how they're enchanted alive and have no internal organs, they're very difficult to kill.
But don't let that scare you off. For all the collectors in you, you can also find a very special array of beanie babies all scattered at the ground at your feet. Do you know that some of these things will be worth a lot of money someday? Better find the rarest one and stockpile it while you can! You might run into the rainbow crab, the platypus, or the sought-after bald eagle, or many more! Be sure to never take the tag off and never ever let anyone play with them so they don't lose value.
Once you've got your kids' college fund squared away, it's time to start exploring! You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers January 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Futaba! Are you all r--? [He cuts himself off from his own question when he spots the lobster stuffed toy in her arms, eyes going wide.] Oh, may I see that?
[Because, you know. Priorities.]
no subject
No, I--Inari?! [The worry and shock fade for a brief moment, enough for a hint of a smile to slip before an annoyed expression falls into place.] You find me here and the first thing you ask is to see my toy?!
[Still, it's said with some humor--further shown when she hands over the soft toy without further argument.]
no subject
It's rather cute, I suppose, but... Where are the rest of its legs and antennae? Or its shell? The poor thing has been quite disfigured.
[...Someone seems to be missing the point of soft toys.]
no subject
It's a toy. It's not supposed to be...insanely accurate. And I like it.
[She pouts, reaching out for what was quickly becoming a prized possession. She didn't have her figures, or her posters, or her computer here--let her have something.]
no subject
[And because Yusuke isn't mean enough to keep toys from her in Hadriel of all places, lobster or no lobster, he hands her it back. He's only being critical because he's jealous, lbr.]
You said you're unhurt? How long has it been since you arrived?
no subject
[Because of course she does. She takes the lobster back, holding on to it tightly. If Yusuke's lucky she'll try and grab an extra for him--maybe.]
I just got here...I'm fine though. Someone helped me out of a tough spot when I arrived. How long have you been here?
[Serious question. The last thing she remembers is sitting in a van with the rest of the thieves so...she's about to have her mind blown.]
no subject
[Of course he suggests an art name, even if he has a perfectly good reason for suggesting it. Before any explanation is forthcoming, however, her question distracts him.]
I've been here for... around three months now, I believe. [It feels longer, but he counted again just to be sure.] Akira has been here for a few months longer than I, and Ann was also here until last month.
no subject
W-Wait--Three months?! That's not...We were in a van, heading to take Akira home when I last saw you. Was my cognition wrong?
[Oh no. Could someone mess with cognition at that level? What if they could...The thoughts were causing her to spiral, a small bit of panic starting to rise.]
no subject
[Bad puns are always a win for Yusuke. He'll accept it.]
No, no, it's nothing to do with your cognition. It's more that-- [How had Ann explained it...] Sometimes people are brought here from different times, as well as different places, and time moves differently here to how it does at home.
[Which doesn't really make sense, but Yusuke has just kind of accepted it, the same way he goes along with most things. He taps his chin thoughtfully.]
I don't remember anything about a van, however...
no subject
[She did have her codename ready almost from the start--and she was quick to nickname him Inari. Genius.]
...You don't remember the van...? [Hold up! The wheels in her brain are turning. Given what he had learned from Ann...She bites her lip, thinking of all the possibilities present here. She needed more info.]
What exactly do you remember happening last?
no subject
[This is Futaba, after all. It might have been a few months, but he can't start acting nice and complimentary around her, least of all when she gives him dumb nicknames!!! Nope.]
Before I arrived here? We'd carried out the heist in Niijima's Palace, and set into motion the ploy to fool Akechi. Do you remember all that?
no subject
Of course I remember! I designed the program to make it work in the first place...But that was months ago. It's March already for me...
no subject
[...Never mind that it's literally what she just said, he's trying to wrap his mind around time-travelling Futaba.]
no subject
[Deadpan delivery. Sorry for blowing your mind, Yusuke.]
For the record? Everything turns out okay. Mostly.
no subject
[Not that Yusuke is one to worry about the future so far down the line, when day to day living is hard enough. Hadriel is little better in that regard. Still, it's one less worry to think about, given how bad things were back home.]
There's many questions I'd like to ask, but I'm sure you have far more pressing concerns about our current predicament. Ask, and I shall do my best to answer.
