Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for January
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: January 10th-14th
Warnings: New folks, rockin' dudes made of rock, and collectible friends!

This time, it's different.

There's no cave, no stone walls looming up around you and overhead, no stifling air or artificial light- not that you'd appreciate it, seeing as to how you've probably never been here before. And still, when you land facefirst on the dirt ground of the colosseum, you may not quite appreciate all the improvements and steps we've had to take to get here- after all, you're still surrounded by strangers in a crumbling city on an alien planet in the middle of nowhere.

Oh, and you're being attacked by Earth Elementals. These creatures are tall, between seven to ten feet, and made of solid rock, capable of punching through all the squishy bits of you- and for whatever reason, they definitely want to start punching. They're incredibly strong and, seeing as to how they're enchanted alive and have no internal organs, they're very difficult to kill.

But don't let that scare you off. For all the collectors in you, you can also find a very special array of beanie babies all scattered at the ground at your feet. Do you know that some of these things will be worth a lot of money someday? Better find the rarest one and stockpile it while you can! You might run into the rainbow crab, the platypus, or the sought-after bald eagle, or many more! Be sure to never take the tag off and never ever let anyone play with them so they don't lose value.

Once you've got your kids' college fund squared away, it's time to start exploring! You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

[Shit... shit. This bizarre situation isn't going to completely ruin his plans, is it? He gives a blink, quietly reigning in his emotions.]

Tokyo, Japan, Earth. Searching for someone?

Not really. [ It would feel weird to explain that he has a list. Besides, it's no where near as official as it sounds in his head. Not much does, really, now that he thinks about it. It's the nature of being a 13 year old. ]

Some people are from places like space and shit like that so it's always nice to narrow it down. Start from here-- [ he puts both of his arms wide ] --to here. [ His palms are out to about the size of a football, now. ]

Would you believe me if I told you were in a cave like one month ago and now it's total freakin' egypt over here?

[Is that really true? People from space? He admits that it is getting more and more difficult to disqualify the "other worlds" thing, especially in the light of what he himself knows, but it's all still a bit difficult to swallow.

Yeah, we moved. [ It's said casually, like water off a duck's back. ] Don't worry, you sort of get used to it.

[ He squints back up, lips pressing into a thin line before he realizes he should probably be at least a little helpful. It's not his fault his mind bounces around topic to topic at a frenzied pace. ]

Akachoo--Akucha---I'm gonna call you Catch, that okay? Whatcha need to know? I can probably answer it. You owe me a chuck, though, that's my currency.

[They... moved? He's still not sure he's fully comprehending what this boy is trying to get across. Is he teasing him...?

Actually, I'm fine. I'm merely familiarizing myself with the area at the moment.

[ Welcome to the world of Stephen King, where even kids are exhausting. And here's the pinch-hit, the fact that Richie is very well aware of the fact that he's probably annoying the hell out of the guy. Can he stop?

If you want somethin', ask for Hope. [ He points in the vague direction. ] I haven't tried it yet, though.

The self-proclaimed deity. [He looks in said vague direction.] I want to return home, but as I've read, that's not something they're capable... or willing to do.

Is it really so bad here? [ The question flies out of Richie's mouth before he can stop it--typical, freaking typical--so he settles on just awkwardly shrugging. ]

I'd say Hope's pretty much the real deal. One of them sold us out to huge robots we were fighting earlier, though, so who knows?

[He raises an eyebrow at the boy.] While this city is absolutely charming, I'm sure [—it's not—] I have a strict schedule to uphold back home. Absence is not acceptable.

Why? What's so important you can't fall into a weird world filled with beanie babies and monsters?
