This time, it's different.
There's no cave, no stone walls looming up around you and overhead, no stifling air or artificial light- not that you'd appreciate it, seeing as to how you've probably never been here before. And still, when you land facefirst on the dirt ground of the colosseum, you may not quite appreciate all the improvements and steps we've had to take to get here- after all, you're still surrounded by strangers in a crumbling city on an alien planet in the middle of nowhere.
Oh, and you're being attacked by Earth Elementals. These creatures are tall, between seven to ten feet, and made of solid rock, capable of punching through all the squishy bits of you- and for whatever reason, they definitely want to start punching. They're incredibly strong and, seeing as to how they're enchanted alive and have no internal organs, they're very difficult to kill.
But don't let that scare you off. For all the collectors in you, you can also find a very special array of beanie babies all scattered at the ground at your feet. Do you know that some of these things will be worth a lot of money someday? Better find the rarest one and stockpile it while you can! You might run into the rainbow crab, the platypus, or the sought-after bald eagle, or many more! Be sure to never take the tag off and never ever let anyone play with them so they don't lose value.
Once you've got your kids' college fund squared away, it's time to start exploring! You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers January 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Kravitz isn't sure where he stands on this. Lucretia had certainly been polite to him in the brief moments they talked, and her presence seemed to bolster Lup. But... he remembers Taako's words like they were spoken yesterday.
We used to be family. She erased it.
He remembers the anger he felt. It's subdued now though, less important than the enemies that surround them. Kravitz summons his scythe, knowing that right now is not the time for intense questioning or conversations.]
They don't seem to care much for instructions.
[It's true, the Elemental continues to lumber towards Lucretia as though she hadn't spoken at all.]

I guess you're right. I prefer a good chat over a fight, but I suppose there's a time and a place--
[The elemental is really close now, and shows no sign of stopping, so she raises the Bulwark Staff and blasts a hole right through the middle of it. It comes creaking to a halt, still on its stone feet, and she tries not to look too proud of herself.}
Ha. Get wrecked, ner--
[Hubris. She can't even finish her taunt before the head of the elemental raises up and it starts to move toward them again, this time with its rock arms outstretched. It's slower, maybe, but otherwise undeterred.]
Well. Shit.

He's ready when the Elemental comes back at them. Kravitz steps forward and swings his scythe in a wide arc, aiming for the creatures feet. One foot comes away entirely, and as the creature falls smaller parts of it break off.]
Not to be entirely cliché, but the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
[He grins toothily, forgetting for a moment who he's with.]

Nicely done. But--just in case.
[She aims the Bulwark Staff for its head and blasts it, more or less, out of existence. Hard to tell what exactly is powering these things but a remove-the-head policy never hurt anyone, right?
She turns toward this helpful stranger and smiles a little.]
Thank you for the help. You wouldn't happen to know how to get out of this place, would you?

[Now is where Kravitz comes back down to earth. The adrenaline wears off, and he remembers the anger he felt, and the words he heard. He doesn't smile back.]
Unfortunately, there is no way out. Not one that we've discovered, in any case. Shouldn't you remember this?
