Intro Log: Rock This City

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for January
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: January 10th-14th
Warnings: New folks, rockin' dudes made of rock, and collectible friends!

This time, it's different.

There's no cave, no stone walls looming up around you and overhead, no stifling air or artificial light- not that you'd appreciate it, seeing as to how you've probably never been here before. And still, when you land facefirst on the dirt ground of the colosseum, you may not quite appreciate all the improvements and steps we've had to take to get here- after all, you're still surrounded by strangers in a crumbling city on an alien planet in the middle of nowhere.

Oh, and you're being attacked by Earth Elementals. These creatures are tall, between seven to ten feet, and made of solid rock, capable of punching through all the squishy bits of you- and for whatever reason, they definitely want to start punching. They're incredibly strong and, seeing as to how they're enchanted alive and have no internal organs, they're very difficult to kill.

But don't let that scare you off. For all the collectors in you, you can also find a very special array of beanie babies all scattered at the ground at your feet. Do you know that some of these things will be worth a lot of money someday? Better find the rarest one and stockpile it while you can! You might run into the rainbow crab, the platypus, or the sought-after bald eagle, or many more! Be sure to never take the tag off and never ever let anyone play with them so they don't lose value.

Once you've got your kids' college fund squared away, it's time to start exploring! You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

[ He's pretty awesome. Rose can't blame Prompto for getting distracted, she did too when she first met him. The wolf pads up a little closer to the Chocobo giving it a cautionary snuffle. This is the weirdest chicken it's ever seen. ]

He does. He's mine. I mean, I guess he is. He's been kind of passed down among people here since his owner disappeared and... I'm the only one left he recognizes anymore I guess. Good thing I love dogs.

Aw, man. ( the two of them seem to be close, but prompto still feels a little pang in his chest when she mentions that the wolf has pretty much lost everyone else - and it shows on his face plain as day, as does the relief after.

at his ankles, the chocobo puffs her feathers out in response to the larger creature moving in a little too close for comfort, and prompto drops into a bit of a crouch, petting her across the back lightly in assurance. ) Glad he's still got you, though!

[ They're alike in that way, her and Wolfie. Rose has lost all of her packmates. It took a while to start seeing people as potential new ones, but... She's getting there. Slowly but surely, she might have a pack again yet. That'd be nice, she thinks. But she isn't about to let herself hope too much. ]

Me too. I mean, I'm sure he could manage on his own but now he's got a warm place to stay and someone to help provide. [ All a dog really needs to give unconditional love in return. Gosh, does she really love dogs.

To the Chocobo's reaction, Wolfie just blinks and snorts. He takes a few steps back, half-hiding behind Rose's legs. Weirdest chicken ever. ]

You got any friends from home? Heard that helps in places like these.

( satisfied that the larger animal has put itself a comfortable distance from her, the chocobo settles back down, content.

stroking her feathers calms not only the bird but prompto himself, too, and it takes a second for rose's question to register — then give him pause. ) Actually, I don't really know; Miss Fluffles got here the same time as me, but so far, there haven't been any other familiar faces. Guess I could look around, check things out, maybe.

[ Wolfie plops onto his rear end behind Rose, yawning as he does. He'll likely chase after something in the corner of his eye soon enough but... until then, he's content to sit idly. ]

Probably not a bad idea. You made it out of the Colosseum at least. I can promise the rest of Hadriel isn't... quite as brutal, hopefully.

Really? ( that last bit she tacked on doesn't sound all that convincing — it sounded pretty messed up from what prompto's read so far — but with some luck, it wouldn't be too much that he can't handle. ) Well - doesn't look like I have much of a choice, anyway. Fingers crossed, then!
