Rise and shine, it's time to meet your new home! While the two suns overhead might make it a bit of a scorcher, there's plenty of shade to be found around you, so get out of the sun before you burn! While you're at it, you might want to introduce yourself to the others who woke up in the same predicament as you- or just run off on your own, that's cool too.
Be careful though, because you're arriving with a bunch of, uh- inanimate objects? Wait, that's no chair! These are mimics, small gelatinous spider-like creatures that can transform into inanimate objects and then pop out to scare you. If you can keep calm, mimics are no big deal, but if you give them the opportunity they will jump onto your head and suffocate you, before using your corpse to reproduce. Nice!
That's alright though, because if you can survive the mimics then you have delicious food waiting for you as a reward! In a shocking twist of events, the items supplied by the Door have no significant twist, save for the desire to eat every single one you can get your hands on. They're Girl Scout Cookies! Long the envy of boy scouts everywhere, these delicious treats will have you munching away your daily caloric intake in no time!
Just, uh- be careful, as the mimics seemed to have caught onto everyone's desire for these colorful boxes. Approach your cookies carefully!
Once you've escaped the mimics and grabbed some snacks, you're ready for the wider world of Hadriel. Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers March 10th-16th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
armory
It is the knives that she is looking at, realizing that ammo isn't quite as easy to come buy. A few are picked up as she inspects, putting them back down, before finally finding one that she thinks might work out pretty well. From one hand to the other it's tossed, getting a feel for the weight and the balance. "Not bad. A few more like you, and I'm set."
no subject
But this is... what the fuck is this?
He's already by the knives when Agent Carolina speaks, and what he'd intended just to be an impatient glance over his shoulder at whoever else wandered in here with him turns into full-on staring at the—creature? Monster? Person? Who can say.
She speaks like a person, though, so, "what are you?" Anyway, no one in history has ever accused Ivar of being a polite boy.
no subject
"Who. Carolina." Which is all she ever goes by anyway, but she doesn't have reason for the Agent part anymore. "The what is armor. ... a suit."
no subject
He should probably be returning the introduction, but he's a little distracted here.
no subject
And he must really have no experience with them, as after a pause, Carolina's hands are moving up and back, unclipping the helmet, and drawing it off over her head. It's a flash of head hair as her bangs fall back over her face, partially covering one of the green eyes. "HUD- Heads-up display. It relays information."
Which again, putting it very simply, given the intricacies involved in it. Neutral implants, processor chips, computers... Somehow she gets the impression she would spent as much time explaining that as anything else. Not that she would get that involved in her explanation.
no subject
But, well, both of those explanations clear absolutely nothing up for him. He squints like he's trying to decide if she's being confusing on purpose, but there's nothing he can find on her face that makes him think so, so he gives up and nods. Over the last few days he's discovered that when people are being incomprehensible, asking more questions along the same vein only makes things worse and makes him look stupid.
So. "Are you going into battle?" If she's so fully armored up, then surely...

Truth of the matter is that it is more like a second skin to her. Even in retirement, it had taken Carolina time to peel back the layers and attempt to act like a civilian. Even that had been a work in progress before life had come crashing down again.
"Preparing for anything." Which is true. "It's not always this calm here."
no subject
"What has happened? Tell me." He means please, honest!
no subject
"I've been here only since the last time this happened, so you'll only get second hand knowledge about most. They seem to mess with your emotions though."
