Rise and shine, it's time to meet your new home! While the two suns overhead might make it a bit of a scorcher, there's plenty of shade to be found around you, so get out of the sun before you burn! While you're at it, you might want to introduce yourself to the others who woke up in the same predicament as you- or just run off on your own, that's cool too.
Be careful though, because you're arriving with a bunch of, uh- inanimate objects? Wait, that's no chair! These are mimics, small gelatinous spider-like creatures that can transform into inanimate objects and then pop out to scare you. If you can keep calm, mimics are no big deal, but if you give them the opportunity they will jump onto your head and suffocate you, before using your corpse to reproduce. Nice!
That's alright though, because if you can survive the mimics then you have delicious food waiting for you as a reward! In a shocking twist of events, the items supplied by the Door have no significant twist, save for the desire to eat every single one you can get your hands on. They're Girl Scout Cookies! Long the envy of boy scouts everywhere, these delicious treats will have you munching away your daily caloric intake in no time!
Just, uh- be careful, as the mimics seemed to have caught onto everyone's desire for these colorful boxes. Approach your cookies carefully!
Once you've escaped the mimics and grabbed some snacks, you're ready for the wider world of Hadriel. Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers March 10th-16th.

Jet Star | In the city | OTA~
Jet Star is not the kind of man who is easily ignored. At over six feet, broad, and topped with a veritable cloud of black, curly hair, his presence is one that announces itself. He makes his way into the city proper, a little dazed and more than a little confused (as one might expect a recently deceased person to be), and as he does he finds that he's looking at everything.
It's no Battery City, but it's not the Zones either. The desert isn't the same, even without the two suns blazing in the sky.
With the shock of his very recent demise and the even more recent clap he had to get himself out of with those things in the coliseum, it doesn't take long before Jet seeks out some shade and sits down, pushing his hair back and running one thumb around the edge of the patch over his eye while he tries to make sense of what's going on.]
Witch lied, or something all kinds of Costa Rica is happening here...

Sometimes, they do with a fizzle. Or with nothing at all. Extraordinary days don't necessarily stay so all throughout them, and ordinary days can change in a moment.
Party vaguely took note of the commotion. He's leaving the house more now, but not for as long as he did. Things have gone quieter, less tense but not entirely calm, but he's...trying. He's trying to push through. He's trying to be there.
He rounds the corner without looking, staring ahead at where it seems like he's noticed people going. Something about the Colosseum? New people? Ghoul told him something about that.
Party's heading there, more out of curiosity than expectancy, though he has no plan to go inside and fight some monster again.
Party, never a subtle sight. And apparently distracted, because he doesn't notice the large familiar young man sat nearby.]

He's still carrying a lot of his things instead of wearing them, having been recently submerged in water, so he drops them as he approaches and sprints to Jet in only jeans, boots and his bright yellow tank top. ]

[Her voice sounds strange, a little too breathless and a little too soft. It doesn't feel quite so much like a mirage anymore, seeing one of them reappear into her life. She's not knocked flat, not left crying so hard she can't function. But it doesn't make it feel any less like a miracle. Even less than overwhelmed still steals her breath.
She watches Jet like a skittish animal. The memory of Party's reaction is still fresh in her mind. Girl doesn't expect Jet to react the same; not her rational, steady Star. But the memory still burns and she's ready to face that kind of rejection again.
Let Jet control the pace of this. Wait for his approval before she rushes in and expects things to go back to the way they'd been when she was a child.]

Instead of rushing Jet and flinging himself at him, his eyes go wide and he finds himself backing away. He ends up slamming in to someone in his blind spot- they don't sound happy about being half run over, and they're loud about it, but Ghoul doesn't seem to notice. He whirls in a slightly different direction, walking quickly away from the commotion like he's seen a ghost.

Kelson Haldane | OTA
Kelson was in court, black hair pulled back in the familiar braid he'd adopted over the past couple of years, stark against the crimson Haldane tunic he was wearing, unsheathed sword resting like a scepter against his shoulder. He'd opted for a less flashy coronet, not as extravagant as the crown he'd use for feasts or as simple was ones he'd use for smaller events---or when he wanted to prove a point. He listened to an earl prattle on about something he should care more about, half listening as the other half of his mind wallowed in self pity and emotional torment.
Life went on, even if it didn't for others. He still had a job to do, and he couldn't stop being king because his feelings got hurt. One day he'd get over having to execute his cousin. Today was not going to be that day. He could still remember Conall flinching at the last moment, and the executioner's sword faltering. When he was first crowned four years ago, he'd never thought his hands would be stained with so much blood. He never thought he'd be forced to kill his own cousin. God, Kelson remembered playing with him when they were children. They grew up together. And then Kelson had killed him. He wished he could go back and see the signs. They'd been obvious. He had seen them. And he hadn't acted. And now there were multiple dead bodies, and lives ruined. He knew he hadn't had a choice. But it didn't mean he had to like it.
And then he wasn't in court anymore. He wasn't in Rhemuth Castle or even Gwynedd. And he wasn't on his throne anymore. He was on the ground. He stood up and sheathed his sword, feeling lucky he hadn't accidentally beheaded himself with it when he fell, or was transported or whatever happened. The king took a look around, possibilities running through his head. Had he been drugged? Did he lose time? He didn't remember anything that would point to that but it wasn't out of the realm of thought, especially with the head injuries he'd recently recovered from. How did he get here? There wasn't a transfer portal in Court, but he wasn't foolish enough to believe he knew everything about magic. So much had been lost, and he was sure what he did know only began to scratch the surface of what was possible.
He made the mistake of looking up, and winced, seeing spots as his eyes gazed up at the sun. No two suns. Either that or he was hallucinating. Had that wine earlier tasted funny? He thought it had been a good Fianna red. If there was something in it they had disguised it well. And no one had attempted to restrain him. That was foolish. He stood to his full height, straightening and setting his face, determined and cold; grey Haldane eyes flashing. He looks down at one of the girl scout cookie boxes, and raises an eyebrow. That definitely looked like a trap. Ambush. Poison. Who leaves food around like that (if it really was even food?) if they weren't offerings? No. Trap.
"That seems a little too blatant...." No, Kelson ignored the boxes and was intend on walking straight out.

Having made it out of the collosseum relatively unscathed, Kelson looked around, trying to navigate the new city and poking around at the device. The guide he found had left a lot to be desired, and a lot that he needed to contemplate. Gods (although he'd be damned if he ever called them that. They were not divine), the Null, different worlds, and a Transfer Portal strong enough to bridge between them. Now that was something.... Was the Portal unstable? Could he use it to get back home? Certainly not without help.
He had taken off the coronet that had been gracing the top of his head and was carrying it looped around his arm--and for once there wasn't anyone there to make fun of him or ask him if he was planning on carrying it around all day or did the king want to wear it like he was supposed to. He wandered the streets, looking at buildings and sights, trying memorize where everything was, taking a momentary break from his own self pity to orient himself and try and come up with a plan besides 'survive and wait for people to find me.'
Can anyone hear this? Kelson sent to on a wide-band signal, hoping there might be someone who could hear the thought.
Out loud, he said, "I don't suppose there's any place I can get food?" He wasn't that hungry, but food and water was as necessary as shelter, and that at least he could find. There had to be food somewhere, or these people wouldn't be thriving the way they were--although he used the word thriving sparsely. They weren't going for each other's throats but had organized some sort of militia at least. It was a start.

"That's an interesting trinket," he calls from where he's seated outside one of the shops, twirling a throwing knife around his fingers, his legs tipped off to the side in a strange way that makes it clear they weren't actually used to help him get into the seat in the first place. His crutch leans against the bench next to him. He points to indicate the crown with the blade of his knife, but he holds it loosely so it doesn't look like too much of a threat. "Is that how they wear crowns where you're from?"

It was easy to find the new ones, at least. Walking around with the same confused look he had for the first month he was here, too. Not that difficult to spot, really, and he almost felt a wave of empathy for the poor man he came across. Hardly a nice place to be, let alone suddenly. He'd hated it too.
He was still a little wary approaching, but smiled gently, hoping that he wasn't being too forward or seeming too off-putting. Not that he would have seemed that way with how small he was.

There's an audible sigh of disappointment from the direction the shot was fired from and there, frowning, is Caedra. "Can't guess them all," she says, then seems to shrug it off as she looks around. The little biscuits or cakes or whatever those are supposed to be don't hold any interest for her - the mimics, however, do. After that brief survey her gaze snaps to Kelson as her solid black eyes focus on him intently for a moment.
She gestures to their general surroundings with her off-hand, its iron ring glittering slightly in the light of the two suns. "You, boy, have you seen any of these boxes move recently?"

"Cool, thanks bro, more for me." He opens up a backpack that's already bulging with the shapes of who-knows-how-many other cookie boxes. A few more can be seen sticking obviously out of the (normally concealed) inner pockets of his leather jacket. He eyes the box he just picked up as he shoves it in with the others.
"Fuckin' score, Thin Mints." Arguably the most valuable of the lot. Because that's what he wants these for, actually. No way is he eating them all himself; they're for trade.
He flips up his sunglasses for a second to get a slightly better look at the newcomer, squinting. He looks uninjured. Should be fine. Tucker flips the glasses back down. "Welcome to Hadriel, I guess."

There are a lot of things that are not. awesome. about this. Tony is pretty sure that he isn't the only one who feels that way, but right now the feelings of anyone else around him come a slow second in the face of shape-shifting creepy as fuck monsters that seem to want to get in his face, or on his face it's difficult to say.
It takes much longer than he'd have liked to get away from the majority of them, to traverse the land and arrive somewhere that feels more comfortable - but he knows instinctively that he's not out of the woods yet and worse he has this sense that he is going to feel a similar anxiety for some time to come. Not that he isn't used to being on pins and needles for weeks on end, but this isn't New York, or Malibu or anywhere he might be able to hunker down and throw himself easily into something. Not that there aren't projects to get involved in, apparently.
He can tell that there really are other people here, might have passed a few on his way out of the death pit, and he knows there are others milling around-- people who look incredibly human and haven't an ounce of recognition when they pass him. He'd half hoped someone would shout his name, point him in a direction and it would turn out this was all some elaborate training exercise.
It's not.
There are two suns in the sky, and he doesn't have a pair of sunglasses, and even this box of girl scout cookies aren't going to cut it.

But she's not actively thinking about any of that. As soon as she glances at her hand, her focus shifts to her surroundings. Yeah, she's got things to sort out, but for now? For now, she needs to get out of this alive.
Her shoulders tense, and she watches very carefully the people around her to try and assess whether they're infected or hostile. She readies her gun, backing up slowly, looking around for cover should things get ugly. There's a pretty hefty box that she starts heading towards. ]

Caedra Nisariel | OTA
[Rudely dropped into the colosseum from what should have been a pretty standard teleport, Caedra pauses, alarmed at her new surroundings. Has she been planeshifted against her will? That's possible, but hard to do, and who would have dared to try?
Humanoid figures are visible throughout this towering stone structure - an arena, she recognizes quickly. And then a subtle hint of movement flickers at the corner of her vision. Immediately the black rapier erupts from the veins of her wrist, her own ichor taking solid form as she goes to investigate because she swears that strange box just moved and she knows that's not normal. It leaps, all black goo and legs, and she runs it through with the sword, green flame flickering along the blade's length.
The creatures, as she encounters them, are easy enough to put down. Far more worrying is the fact that she's here, somehow, and she has no idea where here is. And the worst part? No matter how desperately she tries, she can't seem to restore the telepathic connection she maintains with the demon lord she serves under, and if that's the case...]
What is this?
[As she wanders back toward where she arrived, searching for any sign of what might have happened, while grasping in one hand the sigil she wears around her neck, she notices the phone. A magical device? How does it work?

[The suns don't bother her. Ironhold is harsher. Having accepted that she is well and truly stuck here after a failed planeshift attempt and having learned how to turn on the phone and get the basics, Caedra wanders through the surrounding area. There are so many other creatures here that all look so human, though a few clearly aren't. As tempting as it is to cut them all down and scream at the gods for what they have surely brought on their own heads - because Amamot will not take her loss lightly, not with what she is - for now she will observe.
And maybe ask a few of these creatures if they arrived in a similar fashion. And maybe one can show her more about how this strange communication device works.]

Kobra Kid | OPEN
[ Kobra arrives in the arena the same way he died: angry and unafraid, blaster in his hand and ready to fight anyone who gets in his way. His bright clothes are dirty with a scorch mark on the back of his red leather jacket and there's dirt in his messy blond hair. He looks like he's already been on the losing end of a fight.
Adrenaline is running high for him and his breath is hard and shaky. A sound shuffles to his left and he shoots at the first bright color he sees in that direction. It's a box of Thanks-a-Lots and little "Thank You"'s and "Gracias"'s and "Hsieh Hsieh"'s go flying in every direction. The cookies aren't too noteworthy to Kobra, because he has no idea what they are. The box next to it that transforms into a giant spider monster, however, gives him pause. ]
The fuck is that?!
A F T E R M A T H
[ Once he's a few minutes out of the arena and he's managed to get some space from everyone around him, Kobra notices the weight in the pocket of his tight jeans and inspects the phone. It's a welcome distraction from thinking about everything that's happened in the last few hours. Not just the spiders and whatever this place really is, but everything before that, too. His life just fell apart and he's not sure what he can do about any of that. The whole thing makes him so mad that even after he's read the message, he nearly throws the phone into a wall.
Instead, he kicks a rock with his boot, sending it flying up in the air a good several yards away. There's something so satisfying in that that he does it again and again, sending rocks into the air until it's all he can focus on other than his shallow breathing. Some of them skid on the ground, others fly in an arc feet above the ground. If anyone is there, he isn't too concerned about them or their safety, but his angry yells might attract attention, either way. ]

[ Once he manages to get his aggression out, Kobra heads towards what the map says should be the lake. He knows what a lake is, but he's not sure he can ever remember seeing that kind of volume of water and fuck if he isn't excited at the prospect. With the water in sight, he jogs up to it, grinning like an idiot and finally forgetting some of the anger that's been dogging him.
Without even a glance around, he starts to drop his belongings in the dirt along the shore and removes his clothes in a messy, haphazard way. He may not know how to swim, but in theory it should be fine as long as he stays in shallow water. He's not going to pass up the opportunity, in any case, so he trudges into the shallow water near the shore, completely naked and bright red ray gun still in hand. Can't be too safe with your dick out. ]

She could cry. Girl's first thought when she sees a familiar face is whether they remember her. Whether its real or this is all just a long con by BLI to break her. Whether they'll blame her and this will turn right back to the nightmares she's had ever since that awful night.
There's a lot of things Girl could do. What she lands on is laughter.]

At the moment, Sonya wanted to find a time machine and knee-cap whoever coined the phrase 'war is hell'; whoever said that clearly hadn't lived long enough to experience what happened 'after the war'. Buildings had to be rebuilt, and while Raiden offered her and Johnny the chance to recuperate from their injuries, but she only allowed herself one day rest before returning back to HQ. After the invasion, her government couldn't ignore the threat of Outer realm attacks.
She just wished it hadn't come at such a cost. Most of her squad-her friends and allies-were dead, and hers was the dubious honor of reporting to the families of the fallen. Her fast promotion to Major was an honor, of course, but it meant all of the work and organization of the new unit was on her shoulders-even with delegation, it was all her responsibility. Secretly, she was grateful for the work. Keeping busy meant less time to focus on nightmares, more so than the injuries that were still healing; all of it was preferable the emotional pain from the past month.
The first thing that alerted her to something being wrong was the feel of sand and not wood against her arm, and a moment later, there was the heat against her back, arms and head. Vivid as her dreams were, they were never this tactile, and the combination of heat, sand and bright light has her immediately on her feet, trying not to flinch from the injuries covered by her shirt and vest.
Seeing where she was, for a brief moment, she found herself back in Shao Kahn's coluseum, being forced to watch prisoners and gladiators fight to the death. It takes several moments for her to focus, to realize that this place was too quiet and lacked the smell of blood she recognized.
She forced her mind to the present, making a quick inventory for anything stolen; she let out a breath when she realized that wasn't the case. The only change was the small device, almost like a cell phone, in her pocket. This was immediately forgotten in favor of her beretta: the bones at her feet were indication enough that this place was far from safe.
Around
She couldn't say the message on the phone was reassuring, and a part of her wanted to believe it was all bullshit, and that grief and shock had cost her her sanity, but experience and gut instinct told her otherwise. Once more, fate had thrown her a curve ball and she was once more called to aid and assist a group of gods she'd never heard of.
With the heat of the two sons, her first priority was finding shelter, but that didn't stop her from going in and checking supplies either. The shops weren't empty, but she could see no one that looked like a clerk or employee, never mind anything that looked like a check-out counter. "Does this place lack a currency exchange or something? Or are we really just expected to take what we need?"
Unbidden, the memory of the early days of the invasion surfaced in her head, of having to raid shops because the employees were either killed or had run off. She forced the memories back.

... Okay. Okay, it must be new-arrivals-day, and if there's one thing that Angus remembers for sure about Hadriel, it's that something is probably going to try to kill him soon. He wobbles to his feet, and takes a deep, shaky breath. Shortly before waking up, Angus had been smacked across a room and into a pile of furniture by a giant flaming hand, and he's still aching from the hit. He dusts off his singed clothes, adjusts his cracked glasses, pointedly ignores the smear of dried blood coming from his nose, and reaches for his wand... or rather, the broken wand that he'd landed on, back home. Angus holds each half in one hand, looks at the sand around him (where are all the monsters? Are they invisible this time?) and gulps. ]

So he doesn't go anywhere fast, but he certainly does go. The days find him hobbling around the city's streets as he learns the lay of the land, his gait loud and unsteady. The sharp thump of the metal tip of his crutch hitting the ground, followed by one heavy footfall, followed by the unwieldy drag of the other as he pulls it forward without being able to pick it up off the ground and mostly through movement in his hips. His shuddering breaths and grunts of effort come littered in between all the other sounds, but he doesn't stop or complain, he just pushes on. Slowly, unevenly on.
First he finds the temples and explores them, both insatiably curious and intensely wary. These gods are not his gods, but his gods did not follow him here—yet. Maybe he should be defiant, in the meantime. It's what Floki would do, isn't it? But instead he finds himself seeking out the scattered buildings and engaging with anyone who happens to be within. "Who are these gods?" or "what sacrifices do they ask for?" or "I haven't heard any of their tales, have you?"
On one of the days he can be found stumbling ungracefully around the ruins of the library, scoffing. "Records are pointless, if they can be burned." The English fascination with writing things down on their strange papers has always baffled him, because it's not something his people have ever done. You pass your stories and news and laws by mouth: a legend can't be set on fire or crumble when a building falls.
On another, he'll go to the orchards, which is convenient because the arduous walk to the place made him very hungry. Except, then one of his axes that he'd thrown at a tree (way too hard apparently) in order to drop an apple down to somewhere he could reach it had become lodged there in its bark. Before he attempts the undignified task of trying to get it back down on his own he glances around for anyone in the area who might actually be able to use their legs to jump and shouts a sharp "hey, you!" at the first one he spots.
Otherwise, he likes the armory quite a lot, though he'll only test things like swords when he thinks no one is looking because he's never been a fan of the dubious looks thrown his way when people see a cripple playing with melee weapons like he has any idea how to use them. He's excellent with throwing weapons or a longbow though, and is particularly covetous of any of the weapons made with better metal and blacksmithing techniques than his own viking era blades.

But gods are always after worshipers in quantity, not quality, so by that logic it's not much of a shock that this place is crawling with humankind.
Caedra pauses in front of the temple to Rage, but before she can really take in the sight of the place, her attention is sidetracked by the thump and scrape of Ivan's wandering. A crippled man? Well, there's further proof that these gods have no desire for anything in particular, if this one can barely even walk. He calls out, asking who these gods are, and she turns toward him.
"I was hoping to find that out myself. But it seems they're named after emotions - so I can't imagine they're gods of much importance."

[ One thing is true about Goro Akechi: he survives.
He remembers the gunshots, the pain taking over his body, followed by a moment of utter silence and a feeling he couldn't quite name - peace, perhaps? But that was all it was; just one single moment.
The next thing he remembers is this place, and creatures stranger than he'd ever seen in the Metaverse, and Kitagawa saving him when his strength had faltered, then leaving him with one obvious implication: that this wasn't the first time Akechi had been here. It made no sense, it went completely against all logical thought, but there was only one conclusion he could come to: that he had died, and somehow resurrected.
And just who the hell thought this is what he wanted?
Well, that had to be left aside for the moment. If he's been thrown in a eat or be eaten world again - which is likely, to a literal point, considering the Mimic he's just run across - then he's in it to win. And now that he's had the time to fully recover, it seems he has one aide on his side again: ]
Come, Loki!
[ And just like that, his Persona can take care of a few Mimic with a single Maragion, a pyrotechnic display as grand and chaotic as one could expect from a trickster god. And while not his intention, he may have just saved a fellow new arrival in need.
Care to thank your inadvertent masked hero? ]
2. At a Temple (closed to Akira)
[ His following course of action after (rightfully) lashing out at the Mimic? Get answers.
The newbie guide on his phone hadn't been much help, but it at least confirm a hunch: "Maybe they're dead back in their world, or maybe they just don't have anything to go back to." Well, that sure rings a bell. The bit about Gods was relatively familiar, if not for the whole "powered up by emotions" deal. If he added two and two, he could deduce that one of these deities was responsible for bringing him back. But which one...?
His quest eventually takes him to Hope's temple.
It was one of the two that he had narrowed his options down to (the other being Rage), though he can't say the emotion he gets upon entering the temple is one he's acquainted with. Despair-- now that he knew. And though he's not one to pray, he does take a moment to bask in the feeling and take in the atmosphere and even appreciate the architecture.
It's enough to get lost in his thoughts, and not realize that he's no longer alone. ]
3. Cookies, anyone?
[ Given a few days to get acquainted with the place and settled into a more stable position, Akechi was left with one last dilemma: the matter of what to do with his new life. And the quick, easy answer is to fall right back into a comfortable, safe place behind a pleasant boy mask. ]
Ah, excuse me! [ He calls out to the first approachable-looking person he runs across - or perhaps was it them that had been staring a bit too much at the pile of boxes Akechi was carrying? ] Would you care for some of these? They're quite delicious, but I can't seem to stop indulging in them-- and I don't think we have any dentists readily available, right? Haha...
[ As it turns out, killing horde upon horde of Mimic has netted him a small treasure in the shape of several boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. If he can earn some people's good graces and get rid of temptation? That's two birds with one stone. ]

[ A bright and sunny day is something he hasn't seen with his own eyes in a long time, so long that he can barely recall it. Then again, this is a bit different-- two suns, shining down, and creatures pretending to be other objects.
In the colosseum, he's leaning against the wall, in what shade it provides, absolutely not dressed for the weather and doing absolutely nothing about it. He's doing a brief scan of the newbie guide and deciding that this is fake. ]
This has got to be some kind of joke, right?
[ Unfortunately, one of the office chairs, interested in fresh meat, has decided to reveal itself to, well. Not be an office chair.

Maybe you're checking out or passing by the ruins of the library; though he's not about to pick anything up, he's definitely interested in what's left of the covers of these books.
Or maybe you just want to take a break and watch the river with someone?

The Blues are there, although she's aware of the possibility that others might come through, both friendly and not so friendly. Anything seems able to happen here, which is a catch 22. There may be some faces that she would like to see again (although she'd never wish them here), but at the same time, there are those that she would be less than pleased to see again.
So far nothing though. Her weapon is a blade which is more than enough for today as she has already run across the strange creatures. No naughty nurses this time, although the odd critters this time aren't much better. It is a voice that she hears, and while it isn't familiar, and might actually be speaking to himself, she does answer.]

[Waking up in ruined remains of an unknown coliseum wasn't exactly an ideal. One of Edgar's most vital thumb rules in life is to always stay aware of surroundings, so yes. He wasn't exactly fan of the situation. Especially when he woke up alone. The moment he opens his eyes Edgar almost jumps into air, feeling a heavy bile being stuck in his throat as he scanned the are with his eyes, stare moving from people to another.
He couldn't see or sense Allan anywhere and it made him more uneasy than anything else.
But staying still wasn't his style either and he proceeded explore the ruins. When you're lost you observe and learn. He silently walks up the broken part of the coliseum, inspecting the walls but also taking a great interest at the blood dried on the sand. There isn't any sign of disgust as he kneels down on the ground and picks up a bone into his hands. It's small and light in his hands, reminding him a little from human finger but there's something he can't quite name. Without being able to recognize it right away he quietly slips it inside of his vest's pocket before standing up to take a better look at the walls, running his hand along the stone while he walked.]
Monsters??
[Well, it didn't take a long from him to notice that they weren't as alone as he had first thought.
Edgar was still busying himself with exploring the coliseum's ruins when he came across one of the black monsters: With light and agile movements, as if his small body weighted nothing, he had managed to climb up the stony wall and that's when his hand landed on something that he had assumed to be a stone but turned out to be one of the monsters in disguise.]
Wha-- !! [He lets out a sharp cry of surprise when a mimic reveals its true form, grabbing Edgar's wrist with its long spider-like legs -- falling with him back on the ground. As insult to injury Edgar doesn't even manage to control his fall and lands on the sand rather disgracefully right on his back, which attracts the attention of the rest mimics nearby. He hastily sits up and shakes the creature off his writs, throwing it against the stony wall.]
What are you? [In all his years Edgar can't say he's ever come across something like this. Not in the deepest jungles or mountains. Were these things responsible for the blood and bones around the arena? Well, as much as he'd like to know he can't stay to find out. Not when the rest of mimics began to swarm around him and he was alone and unarmed. Pressing his lips together into a tight, stressed line he starts to back away, carefully not to make any sudden moves.]
Temples.
[Faith was a scary thing, regardless of the religion. It was what made Edgar's skin crawl, eyes widen and a nervous coldness to spread all over his body. The world he had came from was so dominated by Christianity that his fear had taken form of a crucifix. However, here in Hadriel, he didn't know these gods nor this religion -- they were alien to him and only after entering their temples he truly felt the weight of different world. It wasn't the same as being in a church, he did not feel cautious or restless -- like he was playing with his life. But there was something in the air that made him react, brought in feelings to surface that he wouldn't dare to name. Maybe it was truly the presence of a god.]
They say that sinners sweat in the church. [He jokes, mostly to himself when he reached Love's temple. He quietly looked around for a while before turning to a next person.] Do you know where is Delight's temple? I want to see what dead god's altar looks like.
Orchard.
[There was no way that Edgar wouldn't feel himself drawn towards the gardens at Orchard. Culture was important to know and learn but so was the nature -- especially if he wanted to survive. He wasn't hungry now but he knew that would change sooner than later. And besides, if there is any place he'd ever have chances of running into Allan it'd be here.
The gardens, as expected, were truly beautiful and filled him with calmness that not even Hope's or Tranquility temple had brought, filling the hole of homesickness.
He walks through the bushes and flowerbeds, kneeling down next to every new species that he came across. Out of a pure habit he breaks twigs and cuts off the flower buds. To his great disappointment there doesn't seem to be roses anywhere in the gardens, which will definitely prove to be problem in future. But right now he doesn't want to think about it, as irresponsible it seems, right now he can feel the stress and exhaustion to catch up on him. He feels utterly alone and tired in this world.
After finding a thick bush full of red flowers that had at least some resemblance to roses he crawls underneath of it with his feet peeking out and closes his eyes. He can worry about finding a house and food much later.]
Around.
[In order to get know the true state of the city it's vital to learn about the people who live there. And that's what Edgar does: during the first week after his arrival he makes sure to know others. He does not only follow the network, such alien yet interesting concept, but also the streets.
So if you ever feel like someone's watching you there might as well be some true to it. It doesn't matter whether you're out wandering around the city or somewhere inside. In the public such as street or speakeasy it's easier to spot the young boy with dark curls and strikingly bright blue eyes looking at your way. He doesn't approach and if your were to meet his he would casually turn his head away, as if it wasn't in his intentions to stare.]

Go figure, dying had changed that a bit. Although being here, he can't say that anything feels that much different from when he had been alive.
That's fine by him, godhood hadn't suited him much, anyway. ]
